OMG people calm down!!! First of all,you did a good job to bring your goat with a veterinarian, because someothers tried to fix this with non hygienic equiment and make it worst for the animal. Second people who say "why don't you fix this sooner, why you let it grow so much",it 'cause it better to let the abscess get bigger and it's capsule is thick enough. If the capsule that contain the pus is tin and you pops that thing is going to disseminate inside and you will find more formation of abscess. And about the anestesic, obvius the animal is going to feel pain. But is a intervetion for like less than 30 second? Its no necessary to put general anestesic or lidocaine, well if you feel like it,but is better to make it quick.Like this is no a human being is a animal,I'm in not favor of animal cruelity, but people are humanizated animals alot and punisment owner of animal that are,you know , destinate to faena and such. This owner did a good action and you people are bitching for nothing, you are non seen nothing, really of animal cruelity.
I wouldn’t put this baby goat 🐐 under anesthesia either for this abscess, no need to, like I have said before, he just needs a little relief. His owner is doing the right thing!
HONESTLY people, if you don’t have goats then you really dont know how dangerous it is to sedate them. They don’t react the same way to sedation as other animals do & every vet I have ever had has advised against it except in serious cases. EXAMPLE: One of my goats (they are all rescues) had a botched dehorning at birth and developed “scurs” which is regrowth of the horn but it grows all funky and one of his scurs was growing in such a way that if we left it, it would have grown right into his eye. He had to be sedated BUT he vet warned me that he might not wake up. THIS WAS ONLY SEDATION, not putting him under. He was sedated & then numbed the entire area before the procedure. It was horrible after he was given the reversal shot .. my vet was scared.. we shouted, shook him, talked, massaged, etc. it took 45 agonising minutes for him to wake up and get on his feet... and then after the vet left, my goat went down again.... I will never again have a goat sedated again unless absolutely necessary and all the critics here are bitching about a little stab to immediately give relief from the pain & pressure of an abscess.?????? Do your homework before you say such horrible things to someone who clearly cares for their animals & does what’s best for them. How about ragging on the people where I got my goat from. My boy was rescued from a goat dairy farm where they get the moms pregnant and when the kids are born they pull them out and bash their heads in so the mom has milk one worker was so disgusted that she took 30 of these kids home before they could be killed, paid the vet to do de-horning on all of them & have all the boys castrated (just a rubber band at that age) so that they could be adopted and only asked for $10 per goat, but you had to adopt at least 2 because they are not happy alone. Focus on the good or take action on the bad but don’t judge someone for doing what’s right & best for the animal.
Great job, glad you did the poor goat a favor with a quick lance and drain instead of trying to give it the many injections it would need for an area numbing sedation.
KillerFreya no but they would lay you down and inject a local to numb the area, not grab you firmly by the neck and ram a blade into your neck. That was cruel. I’d like to kick their asses for they way they treated that baby.
This may seem cruel, inhumane or torture but abscesses do not numb well or at all. It is painful but brief. The same goes for humans. You could numb the skin but it isn’t the skin that is painful. Infections or abscesses will not take anesthesia. The goat was in pain to begin with and I’m sure not happy being at the vet clinic. I’m also sure it felt tons better after the quick procedure. To put the goat under completely is a risky procedure that isn’t warranted or worth the risks. I don’t like to see this little goat in pain anymore than anyone else but it was quick and efficient and the best treatment for this problem.
Goats do do good being put under. You really got to know your animals this Doctor doses. The goat didn’t look like it was in pain just uncomfortable. If he could talk he would say thank you doc it feels so much baaa batter. And now back to my girls. Good job doc. You know more than anyone what is right for the animals your A O K in my book 👌and the goats 🐐.
I am not going to fault you for not giving Wallace there knock out drugs. But I am going to ask why you guys didn't collect that chunky gunk and sell it to hipsters as freshly made goat ricotta cheese for 12 dollars per gram. You'd have made some serious cash while paying the vet bill.
Goat: Hey doc, can you remove my zit which takes 2 minutes? Vet. Yeah but first here's this $1,000 drug that will knock you out for 2 hours and poison you. I'm doing it because its more humane
Everyone is freaking out over pain, the skin on those is usually so stretched theres no feeling when they make the cut, the only uncomfort this goat is feeling, is maybe when they are squeezing making sure its empty, he just doesnt want them to touch it. He doesnt know them and hes nervous.
exactly, people are just dumb and dont know that its dangerous, expensive and pointless to put the goat under for a 2 min procedure. they think its inhumane that they didnt use any numbing or whatever but the inhumane thing would be to do nothing at all and let it keep growing.
Theu don't put humans under general anesthesia to lance abscesses. I might would have given him a sedative, but I can promise, it immediately felt better as the pus was draining out.
Why wasn’t the area number prior to tearing into it? That is so painful! Clamping it’s mouth shut so it can’t breath isn’t the most compassionate option. The vet tech needs to comfort the animal while securing he or she and she seems to be thinking about what she wants for dinner.
SERIOUSLY PEOPLE!!! I am NOT going to pay hundreds to put my goat under anesthesia.. Call me whatever you want! Truth the goat was not happy because he was at the vet.. it smells weird there and strangers are grabbing at him. Luckily he is healthy and didn't need any emotional therapy from the "trauma". I guess the next time my momma goat has her kids I will run out and give her an epidural so she isn't in too much pain. Such a joke!
It's only an abscess ....what do you think happens on farms that are 100's of miles in the middle of nowhere?...do you honestly think that a cattle or sheep station way out in the middle of nowhere is gonna send for a vet every time an animal gets an abscess?...no..the farmer is going to pop it...it's like 2 seconds of pain followed by a crap load of relief..honestly...some people need to toughen up.
Amazing how many people on here have never even touched an animal much less had to raise one, but they can tell an animal owner just what they are suppose to do and not do. Go play you video games in your Moms basement or grow up and actually understand what the real world is like. This animal owner did absolutely nothing wrong!!
It doesn't hurt at all!! The blade is sharp af so it doesn't hurt that much the goat can take it!! Giving anesthesia is a bad choice because its more complicated and the area can be dead also so anesthesia is not a chewing gum that you just give anyone!! Seriously man people are dumb. Anesthesia is a strong drug that's why its used in big surgeries nd stuff its not an easy thing. Yall need to do some research first then talk shit the animal is absolutely fine!! My brother had sutures without anesthesia so its nothing
Kat Kenobi vor 1 Jahr Why wasn't that poor thing put out for this procedure? I know local anesthesia doesn't work on cysts like that, so why not have him worked on when he is under deep anesthesia and won't feel anything. Poor lil goat.

I heard of milking a goat, but this is not what I expected. Lol

Bravo! Well said.
That abscess looks baaaaad!
Poor little goat!!!!
Great job, glad you did the poor goat a favor with a quick lance and drain instead of trying to give it the many injections it would need for an area numbing sedation.
K C you remember that advice should you ever need a cyst removed.
Bet he was a military doc in his early career!!
Overlay goat screaming ... pure gold
That goat got balls
People, chances are a doctor would not put *you* under general anesthesia to lance an abscess, either.
KillerFreya There is a big damn difference between sedated and general anesthesia
yeah, actually a doctor would give you a local anesthetic shot to lance an abscess. they do it all the time. thats a standard practice.
KillerFreya no but they would lay you down and inject a local to numb the area, not grab you firmly by the neck and ram a blade into your neck. That was cruel. I’d like to kick their asses for they way they treated that baby.
KillerFreya No, but they numb the area that they are going to cut in to with lidocaine.
KillerFreya yes the would
😭 poor goat
Or what ever that thing is
And that dear children is where goat cheese comes from!
Poor. Goat it must of felt. Miles better after that
Awww poor widdle goat 😢
Pus-tacular. A veritable pus-travaganza
Poor thing, he must feel better without that on his neck.
That little fella was like bitch that shit hurts
Local anesthetic would take you 10 min to administer and wait and the animal would be awake but not in any pain...
Poor baby
Bet be feels a relief after that
Poor baby needs some relief ❤️

Lady behind the curtain: " nope, nope, nope... ".
Jesus Christ...came out like toothpaste
Why don't these people give local anesthesia to these animals? Don't think humans would tolerate same procedures without it.
The next day the goat was like : Ahhhhhh I feel better.
But I'll still head butt that vet in the nuts. Payback's a billy goat.
Oh so that's where goat cheese comes from.
Poor little goat

And this is how we get goat milk.

Goat cheese 🧀
Poor goat

Is that goat cheese lol 😂😂😂
Mayo goat!
So that's how goat cheese is made
Why not just roasting him with delicious veggies and a nice marinade and maybe some pita?!?
I feel like some yogurt right now 😂
I am not going to fault you for not giving Wallace there knock out drugs. But I am going to ask why you guys didn't collect that chunky gunk and sell it to hipsters as freshly made goat ricotta cheese for 12 dollars per gram. You'd have made some serious cash while paying the vet bill.
Too funny.....
I think it you that smells funny
And this.... is where Goat Cheese comes from. :)

going under can be dangerous
*Authentic Greek Yogurt!!!*
Everyone is freaking out over pain, the skin on those is usually so stretched theres no feeling when they make the cut, the only uncomfort this goat is feeling, is maybe when they are squeezing making sure its empty, he just doesnt want them to touch it. He doesnt know them and hes nervous.

GOAT
Whip cream with strawberry syrup
Goats usually die under anesthesia so that’s why they did not have it put under
To everyone crying about if the goat was sedated, they probably have him or her, a CBD gummy so chill.
Theu don't put humans under general anesthesia to lance abscesses. I might would have given him a sedative, but I can promise, it immediately felt better as the pus was draining out.
Poor baby, that has got to be painful.
that's terribly thick
Cream cheese
I know this is JUST A goat..... but y'all couldn't even give it anything for pain. ?
Real goat cheese
How about a local block with lidocaine for the incision site...
it's a bullchininon 😂 men in black
Goat cheese!!
Cheesy.
The ignorance these folks in the comments have is astonishing.
Ah yes, stupid people.
Are you new to UA-cam?
How goat cheese is made. You are welcomed guys.
Looks like a pair of balls. :P
Is that where goat cheese comes from
literally goat cheese
Why wasn’t the area number prior to tearing into it? That is so painful! Clamping it’s mouth shut so it can’t breath isn’t the most compassionate option. The vet tech needs to comfort the animal while securing he or she and she seems to be thinking about what she wants for dinner.
Qué animal. Es como si van y le pinchan a el un huevo
Looked like yogurt
Them sists maybe swollen glands
oh jesus lol
Goat Cheese anyone?
Poor thing had balls on the neck 😔
Looks like testacles
How the hell did this happen? How could the owners let it get this bad..
Why am I watching this while eating?
who wants goat cheese now?
A doctor wouldn't put a person under for this either.
Wow that didn’t look humane, but I guess if in the wild, would be alit worse?
Everybody chill. The goat was given 3 Tylenol 1/2 hr earlier
What are the 2 hangy-down things from the shaved area?
Those are called wattles. Some breeds (mostly dairy breeds) of goats have them, others do not. They don't serve any purpose.
Nice zit
Yeah,, when they do this out in the field there is no sedation. A prick, some squeezing and some iodine. and be on their way.
Cottage cheese???
What about a shot just to numb it - vet used to do that to my horse

Candis Holden lmfao
You should not have an animal if you can't afford the care :)

If you can alleviate pain for animals, you should. Some people just care more than others.
Air Strike Technologies, please stop acting like a 13 year old and grow up.
Mmm who wants goat cheese?!
Splorch
Anyone want some goat cheese?
Poor got had a pair of balls hanging on his neck. I'd want it removed to. Must of been painful.
