There is a famous saying: “अब पछताए होत क्या जब चिड़िया चुग गई खेत”. Both these senior retired bureaucrats, who held important portfolios during their service and played a key role in shaping the state’s economy, are now conveniently placing the ‘collective’ blame on the political system and bureaucracy. However, they were an integral part of the very system they now criticize. Why did they allow the state’s economy to collapse without confronting their political superiors? Had they taken a stand, at worst, they might have been replaced, but their actions could have generated significant media and public attention, potentially thwarting any wrongdoing by the political system. Unfortunately, it seems they were more concerned with retaining their cushy positions and the executive powers they had grown accustomed to.
Amazing interview , questions well formulated and articulated , although like all bureaucrats it was hard to get straight answers but still both RI Singh and SK were quite candid … I think this interview shall become a beacon of what not to do for politicians and bureaucrats alike … Thanks a lot for putting it together Randhawa Saab

What corrupt, dishonest liars these two are! Together, they spent 75 years within the system yet never took any responsibility, instead deflecting blame onto political leadership or culture. RIS is the worst-using a colonial governor's quote to malign the people of Punjab. He even offered to share names and stories of corrupt officials off-camera, effectively admitting to protecting them. SK, though more cautious with his words, was part of the worst administration and played a key role in their bad deeds. They blamed terrorism for Punjab falling behind in everything. Really? How did that impact education or health services? Why were schools still missing functioning toilets? They proudly touted record food grain production during that time-a result of non-government efforts-yet failed to deliver a single corruption-free department or even a basic office. HSR ji, you did a commendable job asking all the tough questions this time. However, stronger follow-ups are needed. I understand the risk of them avoiding future appearances, which could impact your channel, but true journalism demands it. I watched this episode more than once and truly appreciated your effort. Regarding solutions, it's futile to expect anyone who has been part of the system to bring meaningful change. That only happens in movies; real life is different. It may take external pressure to disrupt the system and force reorganization. Such moments are often referred to as revolutions. HSR ji, consider seeking out highly educated individuals who have lived in developed nations for at least 25 years and interviewing them for potential solutions. To avoid conflicts of interest, they should have no family or business ties to India. There are many whose hearts still beat solely for Punjab. Here’s a solution for anyone truly serious about change: start by fixing the judiciary, which is currently corrupt. Ensure every civil case is resolved within three months and every criminal case within six. Courts should assign consecutive days for both sides to prepare and litigate, 6-8 weeks out. No excuses, no adjournments-if one side isn’t ready, the other wins. Additionally, teach children their rights and duties in Punjabi starting in elementary school. This alone could transform the system within 3-5 years.
@@gillbuilding You’ve got to be kidding me. RIS openly admitted to knowing bad actors yet chooses to protect them. If you can convince me nothing bad happened in Punjab during their tenure, I’ll take my words back. As long as people protect such individuals, ask for favors to bypass the system, or avoid asking tough questions, there’s no hope for improvement in Punjab. Those who defend them have no right to complain about the state of affairs. These two are responsible for this mess. They’re not good actors. The only positive from them speaking on camera is that they exposed themselves.
Sir, you seem to be personally affected by mal-adm. of Punjab especially judiciary. As far as I know judiciary is not as corrupt as you think. Our advocates fraternity is mainly responsible for judicial delay.
👍 41:56 This is grossly fake narrative that Punjab's industry suffered due to "terrorism" and a propaganda especially propagated by the thoroughly corrupt and useless bureaucratic class as a scapegoat/excuse for their own failures, Ramesh Inder Singh being a prime example of it. I have data to support the case, while Punjab was in turmoil Ludhiana, the largest city, was booming and had become entrepreneur's paradise producing bicycles and woolen fabrics: doubling the output of both by also becoming a centre for producing sewing machines and ancillary products. The daily trading at Ludhiana stock exchange grew fourfold from 7 crores to 30 crores. Many industrial houses set up their plants in the state. It was equally true to Amritsar. While this state sponsored turmoil Punjab remained at the top pf Indian states in terms of prosperity; per capita being the highest. Khushwant Singh writes "Rich industrialists moved freely without bodyguards, workers came for night shifts without fear, cinemas were full for late night shows, more Contessa cars were seen on roads, and hotel occupancy rose to over 90%."
@@rajinderhira4670 No veerey, fortunately, no one in my family had direct interactions with Punjab Police or Indian courts ever. I left as part of the brain drain to study abroad, and I had the misfortune of knowing Badal Jr. in California during those years. At the time, I had some hope in him, but he turned out to be one of the worst disappointments. The system itself is fundamentally broken. In the USA, every case is given a specific timeline to prepare and litigate, with almost no allowances for extensions unless blatant fraud is proven. In India, this is far from the norm. Only a handful in the judiciary are honest; most are corrupt. Think of examples like the former Chief Justice of India or the infamous Nirmal Yadav case. Blaming politicians is too easy-they are corrupt everywhere. However, politicians are merely a reflection of the society they come from, not the other way around. The real issue lies in the deep systemic flaws that we, as a society, continue to tolerate and perpetuate.

Free electricity by PS Badal has destroyed the farms in Punjab. Fee power subsidy actually benefits those persons who give their land on theka. Land theka increases each year because the land owners don't pay for electric power, they expect the thekadar (tiller) to pay a very large slice of the crop output. Now it monoculture of either wheat or paddy. Average people in villages have given up livestock, which was a source of income for small and marginal farmers.

After 55 year's, they should be retired/removed, either they are employees/officers/ministers. Because these older men are habitual to make sadaobazi in all matters. Only young men should be on driver sheet.

Land theka increases each year because the land owners don't pay for electric power, they expect the thekadar (tiller) to pay a very large slice of the crop output.
Now it monoculture of either wheat or paddy. Average people in villages have given up livestock, which was a source of income for small and marginal farmers.
very good randhawa ji

Problem is not of political, bureaucracy But problem of Corporatism of System
I think it's reposted.
41:56 This is grossly fake narrative that Punjab's industry suffered due to "terrorism" and a propaganda especially propagated by the thoroughly corrupt and useless bureaucratic class as a scapegoat/excuse for their own failures, ranting of RIS being a prime example of it.
Good

From 2017 to Oct 2021, Mr Suresh Kumar was all in all. He should have told why pb was not grown in that phase ?
After 55 year's, they should be retired/removed, either they are employees/officers/ministers. Because these older men are habitual to make sadaobazi in all matters. Only young men should be on driver sheet.
After S Kairon and S Gill vision Les Leaders (so called Leaders) destroyed Punjab
Bureaucrats don't dare to give neutral advice because they remain worried about post retirement rehabilitation.
Suresh Kumar enjoyed power for long time after retirement but did nothing for state.
Debit rashu to GDP should not be more than 3 to 4%
My means defisit
These intelligent buarecretes and illiterate ministers es desh nu kha gaye ne. These both categories should be illuminate from the Indian society and military raj should be imposed.
If the civil servants acted in correct manner we would never been here ,They are sitting in posh houses which they could have never afford without corruption. They sound sweet on camera try talking to them in their office.

RI singh it was 1997 not 1979 when Sr Sucha Singh Langha was minister.
Views of these beauro rats are authentic and true and it is our unfortunate condition that we are being run by corrupt political parties every political party.we are being compressed by administration
Saarya ne is nu lutya.
Ehna dono officers to sincere koi nahi ho sakda
Or ehna ne key position ch Hon de bawajood, Punjab da koi bhala nahi Hoya, rather they helped leaders who looted Punjab and misled Punjab to nowhere
Conclusion: -
If such sincere and honest officers could not do anything for Punjab, nobody else will be in such a position and nobody in lesser position than these officers could think of helping Punjab
These beaurocrats won't agree that are also to be blamed for lagging behind of Punjab.
I am sorry Ramesh Inder ji , Langar is not a freebie.....what about freebie to officers and leaders .... 'freebie ' is welfare for poor ..... the poor collection of gst , non remunerative prices of farm produce , lack of across the border trade , low collector rates.....
Leave Punjab as soon as possible Road Blocks and Unions have ruined Punjab jaldi jao Punjab ton
Randhawa g why waste your time what they did for Punjab while in full power .
But politicians have the power to decide, they are not fully responsible.

Ehna dono officers to sincere koi nahi ho sakda
Or ehna ne key position ch Hon de bawajood, Punjab da koi bhala nahi Hoya, rather they helped leaders who looted Punjab and misled Punjab to nowhere. Those looters have been punished by the people of Punjab, but these can’t be punished because they didn’t loot Punjab. They only helped looting of Punjab at the hands of their political bosses. This is fact who can punish them nobody but….. At least they can advise their IAS colleagues who are in service not to help corrupt leaders intheir evil designs.
Please do two things to purify the political system.
A) Hold elections with zero expenses by any political party, every expense will be by Govt
B). Nobody should be able to invest black moneyin Property.. There should be no scope for keep black hidden.
.
Conclusion: -
If such sincere and honest officers could not do anything for Punjab, nobody else will be in such a position and nobody in lesser position than these officers could think of helping Punjab.
It’s not only Punjab, but our Countries political system based on corrupt electoral practises,
