Hi Angela. What is the best vacuum to buy for stairs? lots of stairs...3 set of stairs 4 stories. handheld is back-breaking. i need cordless, lightweight, good on stairs
+Keri McQueeney LOL. Thanks, it is a game I play in my head. I try to think two steps ahead so If I have to move across the room I am taking something with me and bringing something back, or, cleaning my way down and a different clean, coming back. 🤪👍👏
Oh wow, that is so nice of you to say. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement and support and for spending a few minutes of your day here with me. I appreciate you. :-)
I have the hardest time keeping my hardwood stairs clean with kids, pets, husband lol. I can't believe I never thought about using the hand mop and spray bottle, that's what I'm getting immediately! That's a game changer! Thank you!
LOL. It is a game changer. Every time I clean the stairs for the next two days when I go up or down them I'm like "Wow, now those are some clean stairs." ;-)
Vacuum if you can, a broom will kick dust back into the air. Rather than spraying a solution use a flit top bottle to apply solution to the surface or mitt. You don't want to inhale spray from a spray bottle which is a common problem with spray triggers. A hip vacuum or backpack work great on stairs. You can do the edging, treads and risers as you work down the stair case. A microfiber flat mop works very well for mopping stairs. Use a charging bucket and pads.
@@AskAngelaBrown I actually took my blinds down and washed them in the bathtub last summer. It was so incredibly easy. I put them on the deck to dry. I live in Georgia and with our summer heat, I was able to clean the blinds in a 3 rooms a day.
Curious about high traffic stairs in a three-flat apartment building. It’s sort of office carpet? And people are coming in and out from outside in the Midwest city winter with their dogs and what not! Fragrance-free needs as well. Thank you!
I love how well done your videos are! Very informative and concise, with a bit of entertainment. Can you please do a video on deep cleaning an old washing machine? I'm in an old apartment complex that was never really maintained, and it seems like my laundry smells like stale oil (once the detergent smell fades). Plus the front load rubber seal is difficult to keep from getting moldy, even though we always leave it open. Please help!
For immediate use before any videos are made you can use 1/2 cup of vinegar in the fabric softener pocket when you do the wash and that should remove the smell from the laundry. You will still add your soap to the regular soap pocket, and then half way through the load it will extract the vinegar from the other pocket. Let me know if that fixes the problem.
@@AskAngelaBrown @Angela Brown Cleaning thanks for responding so quickly! I ran it on hot while empty with detergent and vinegar, since we didn't have a load to do quite yet. I'll definitely add vinegar to the wash for the next load! I don't think the vinegar helped much with the muck in the seal, and while wiping it out afterwards, I found out it's not just in the seal, but all the way up in the opening where the detergent and water pours out into the front area of the drum. I've even used qtips to push out the gunk from the drainage holes of the rubber seal before, they were almost completely closed they were so full of sludge 🤢 I'll try your tricks from your "moldy bathroom" video and krudkutter or something if it's safe on the rubbery seal
Heyyyyy Angela, wonderful video as always! Been spring cleaning, your videos are a life saver...question:. What's the best way to clean fans and those nasty air vents to the air conditioner/heat?
I just got an apartment complex account. 7 buildings with carpeted stairs in each building. The broom and dust pan never thought of that. It’s very low pile carpet. I used a corded stand vacuum and attachments and it was a nightmare! Any other advice for quick cleaning of the stairs and top landings? Thank you!
Congrats on this big contract!👍 A powerful handheld or backpack vacuum is great for stairs, especially, for those nooks and crannies that trap all the dust
Oddly enough, most homes I've been in do not have central vacs. And I'm not a fan of them anyhow, they are so hard to empty when broken. You have to have a professional come out to flush the hoses. A number 7 (on the pH scale) is a pH-neutral floor cleaner. You can buy commercial brands, or you can use water with a drop of mild soap. We use castile soap. Great questions. :-)
Angela, thank you. I have white stairs that are carpeted and really gross where the flat stair meets the vertical part of the next stair. My vacuum seems to be too wimpy to suck this up well. Any suggestions? A brush?
What Liquid Product do you use to clean wooden stairs? After dry mopping, I've used Pledge Multi-surface Cleaner a few times, but I don't want to be cutting corners if there is a more appropriate product out there to use. Thank you! 😊
Hi Judy, a damp microfiber cloth is all you need to clean stairs after dusting or vacuuming them. If you feel you must put some kind of chemical on them for some reason, a pH-neutral cleaner will work just fine. This can be a gallon of water with one drop of Sal Suds castile soap. Add the water first so the water doesn't become bubbly when mixed. Pour the gallon into a spray bottle and use the spray while cleaning the stairs with a cloth or dust mit.
I am still trying to watch all. You are such a great speaker. On the " How to clean kitchen cabinets " I purchased every, single item! Lol. I moved from Orlando, ( had a cleaning company there as well) , to Maine and kept cleaning. I clean alot of the out of staters camps, airbnbs, and seasonal cleaning. I had a lot of high profile clients in Orlando and their homes have to be camera ready. So, when I moved back to Maine I went towards that type of customers as they have disposable income. However, I have several weekly and Biweekly customers to get me through if I have a slower month.. Keep making your podcast as we really appreciate it!! And it truly helps!!
THIS is why we installed an outlet at the upper landing of our stairs - works great to plug in a vacuum so you can do the whole staircase. It's also a great spot to plug in a night light if needed.
A pH neutral cleaner will be safest. Murphy Oil Soap is a great bet. amzn.to/3drtzpR you can dilute it (follow the instructions on the label) and it is a neutral no-rinse solution that is designed for wood.
Thank you for your question! To keep hallway carpets clean in an apartment building, prioritize regular vacuuming, especially in high-traffic areas, and consider placing mats at entrances to trap dirt. Periodic professional carpet cleaning will be helpful as well
simple and good ... is it application that liquid spray of marble stairs?? which can i get the 7 liquid spray in africa particularly in Nigeria and that sponge too ...thank you
