Didn't know that Joey had pipes ! What a butt kickin'--just 3 top flight players. I first met Dave when he was Paul Butterfield--I'm sure he doesn't remember me--but I sure remember him and have followed his rise for yrs. My squeeze and I absolutely enjoy Joey--she plays keys in our band and he is one of her inspirations. Bless you all for makin' some great butt kickin. MUSIC !
Seen them both perform in person at the Catalina Jazz Club in LA, but never together. The great musicians always seem to become even better when they pair up. Joey De and David, what a trip! Let the good times roll, indeed!
Been loving Sax since i was around 2 years old , my sister's Ex was a huge Grover fan and got me hooked . There's only 2 Sax players that i just will never get enough of , the first is Grover and then the awesome David Sanborn ! Never got to see Grover , but did speak to his wife not long ago and will treasure to moment forever . Wish David would come to RDU area !
The people who gave this a thumbs-down are probably people with really refined, esoteric musical tastes. You know, like Justin Bieber fans or something classy like that.
I saw them (Steve Gadd instead of Gene Lake), on Almuñecar, Spain, July 2010. Steve Gadd and Sanborn made me buy tickets, but then I discovered Joey... Incredible!!!
When I heard this, I thought of, "... tonight's musical guest THE SPIN DOCTORS, Macaulay Culkin, Horatio Sans, GE Smith and the Saturday Night Live Band, and now your host of Saturday Night Live... STEVE FORBES!
Hear the depth when on occasions he lifts both hands and continues with the pedals.Stunning organ Leslie Sim - i`m presuming there`s no Leslie tucked away behind the scenes?
Do a search on Joey D and Miles Davis. He played keyboards with Miles when he was 17 years old. Miles had to wait for him to graduate from high school, then he pulled him into his group. Joey has it man, he's the master of the B3, KeyB, and piano. Oh, forgot trumpet.
By the way that's not a B-3. Not even a Hammond. I'm pretty sure it's his Diversi ?sp that's a digital copy that he's been pushing. He might even be a part owner in the company. Simulated Leslie also. Sounds good to me.
always fun to see if joey is playing pedals or not,, He usually never does with a guitarist because the guitarist can play chords in back of joeys solo
One thing I always love (not necessarily seen here) is when a B3 organist strains and makes a face when playing the high notes and the crowd cheers like it's a great physical triumph to press those keys. It ain't like Maynard Ferguson blowing his brains out hitting the screaming highs on the trumpet. I witnessed where it takes him through the next number to catch his breath.
Mike Andrews Yes, an orchestra conductor is more fun If she is Megan Fox wearing a bikini, I played trumpet for many years and it was a bitch, I saw Maynard play once in concert but I was amazed when I saw doc Severinsen four years ago,, he was better than ever and about 85 years of age
Mrsteve4761 Hey, the keyboardist that many people Love to hate is Lang Lang because of his stage presence , Some instrumentalists write notes to themselves to put more feeling into their concerts
Not a B3, it's one of Joey's Key B Italian made clones. Saw him many times with it.........doesn't matter what he plays, he's a master. Who the heck gave the thumbs downs??? Are you jealous?
I can asure you he plays as good the trumpet as the hammond, but I think he's a bit short of breath nowadays. I saw him with Mc Laughlin on guitar and Chambers on the drums, fabulous...
Ok..........us Hammond Organ players know the score..........Joey DOES NOT play a Hammond these days. That is a KeyB duo .... Look to Tony Monaco for performances on the Hammond organ series...
Rest in peace you powerhouse of a man and musician. I was introduced to Joey D by a friend who plays organ just a few years ago. Gone way too soon.
RIP Joey. Now he's playing in heaven with all the greats!
He got the audience clapping on the 2's and 4's, and keeping time as well - well swung, Mr Francesco!

The people who gave this a thumbs-down are probably people with really refined, esoteric musical tastes. You know, like Justin Bieber fans or something classy like that.

Joey also can play a mean trumpet......seen him do it at a jazz fest many years ago....blew me away.
I saw them (Steve Gadd instead of Gene Lake), on Almuñecar, Spain, July 2010. Steve Gadd and Sanborn made me buy tickets, but then I discovered Joey... Incredible!!!

David Sanborn is a honorary Cajun and as we say: " Laissez les bons temps rouler!!! "

Mr Di Francesco: my antidepressant 🤩🤩🤩
Joey can sing
Plays trumpet too.....sounds like Miles!
muito Bom !!!!!
Arhhhh.....great interpretation of the age old standard......BBK( rest in peace)....Georgie Fame and Louis Jordan are my other favorite versions.
Joey plays in any key. His cover of All About My Girl was in Ab, he's got the modes down in all 12.
Joey should sing more got a great voice !
❤ RIP Boys 🙏🙏🙏
joey master keyboardist can sing!!
let good time roll yes
Love
Sadly ironic to hear him sing this. A multi-talented genius.
Great!!!!!!!!!!!
Joey and David both gone :(
By the way that's not a B-3. Not even a Hammond. I'm pretty sure it's his Diversi ?sp that's a digital copy that he's been pushing. He might even be a part owner in the company. Simulated Leslie also. Sounds good to me.
Great Jazz
Joey D with the voice what
yeah baby

“Let me show these people how to clap while I still kill it on the pedals.”
I love the guy but that is hysterical.
always fun to see if joey is playing pedals or not,, He usually never does with a guitarist because the guitarist can play chords in back of joeys solo

Mike Andrews Got nothing to do with the "effort" involved. It's all about the "feeling" in the moment.
Mrsteve4761 Hey, the keyboardist that many people Love to hate is Lang Lang because of his stage presence ,

Mike Andrews
Yea, I know what you're saying. Love it none the less. :)
Not a B3, it's one of Joey's Key B Italian made clones. Saw him many times with it.........doesn't matter what he plays, he's a master. Who the heck gave the thumbs downs??? Are you jealous?
Joey doesn't play Hammond B3 in this video; organ is a KEYB DUO.
Joey loves the key of F.
damm got that right
oké!ez jó!!!
Four people don't like this? Go make up with your wife and cheer up!
!!!!!!
@arkhepolo you lucky man! ;-)
SA BON WI
hi-ho silver!
Greasy.
Peter, det er ikke en B3'er!
people have time for negative comments. anyway...i had no idea Joey could sing.
I can asure you he plays as good the trumpet as the hammond, but I think he's a bit short of breath nowadays. I saw him with Mc Laughlin on guitar and Chambers on the drums, fabulous...

I may get some beating for this, but Sanborn was not needed in the piece 🙂
I bet Joey hears the word "morbidly" a lot.
Great!!!!!!!!!!
