Was requested to play something 'emotional' at a large family reunion. I decided to play this. It received a standing ovation and I was accosted with tearful hugs afterwards.

3:00 makes me emotional every time. Easily my favorite soundtrack in the game, it’s beautiful. When I played Will of the Wisps, hearing that melody in the game made me genuinely cry.
Every time I listen to this I feel like it's telling me the story of Ori and the Blind Forest.

The story is beautiful and sad, and I think adds to the pleasure of listening to the soundtrack... [SPOILERS]
- First song in this medley: The spirit Ori is separated from the Spirit Tree in a storm. She is taken in by the caring and motherly Naru and has a happy life there for a while.
- The Spirit Tree lights up the sky one night to call out to Ori to return because it can't find her, but in doing so accidentally burns some baby shadow owlet creatures to death with its light. The mother shadow owl Kuro hurries back to her nest when the sky lights up but she's too late and her babies have all been fatally burned except for the one egg that hadn't yet hatched, so she attacks the Spirit Tree which is still lighting up the sky and destroys its light.
- The Spirit Tree's broken light, Sein, is lost in the forest and the forest goes "blind", which means areas start to decay and become corrupted and the world falls out of balance. Slowly the fruit trees Naru and Ori use for food all die out, and Naru dies of starvation.
- Ori leaves, weak, starving, and grief-stricken, into the forest and draws her last breath in front of the Spirit Tree. However, the Spirit Tree manages to use the last of it's strength to revive Ori.
- Second song in the medley: Ori then finds Sein broken in the forest and begins a journey to restore balance to Nibel (the world) by finding the Lights for Water, Wind, and Warmth which fell out of balance and became lost when the Spirit Tree's Light was no longer there to maintain their balance. Ori and Sein defeat enemies, find friends (Gumo, whose kind was wiped out in the aftermath of Kuro's actions), witness the devastation the forest has gone through, and return balance to each of the elements. All the while, Kuro keeps attempting to kill Ori and Sein, as they glow with the same spirit light that killed her babies.
- Gumo manages to revive Naru using an artifact from his lost people that stores spirit light, and Naru starts hurrying to find Ori
- Ori restores the final element of Warmth inside the volcano. It begins to erupt and Ori must return Sein to the Spirit Tree so that it can keep the elements in balance and prevent the volcano from burning down the forest. However, Kuro finds and seriously injures Ori before she can return Sein.
- Just as Kuro is about to kill Ori, Naru arrives and bravely walks straight over to Ori and picks her up to protect her, despite Kuro's threatening and malicious presence. Kuro recognises Naru's mother's love for Ori and thinks of her babies who died. In remembering the event she looks over to her nest in the distance and sees that the volcano's erruption has set the whole forest alight and the fire is moments away from her nest and remaining egg.
- Third song in the medley: Kuro starts noticing the world around her instead of focusing on snuffing out Ori and Sein, and seems to understand that the Spirit Tree's Light is required to manage the fire and picks Sein up and returns it to the Spirit Tree. Sein now back in the Spirit Tree immediately lets out a huge burst of light that puts out the flames and saves the forest and Kuro's nest, but in doing so kills Kuro in its light.
- Balance is returned and the forest is restored and thrives once more. Naru, Gumo, and Ori go to Kuro's nest and take her final egg back to Naru's home, where they honour Kuro's sacrifice by looking after it and including Kuro in their family drawing. The egg hatches a little shadow owlet, and they name it Ku (though this name is only revealed in the sequel).

The game is full of beautiful music, though it is very challenging for those unused to platformers
the game becomes the floor is lava
you have to run up a flooding tree run from a literal wall of lava navigate past spikes while flying at a hundred miles an hour but other than that its one of the best games i have ever bought and i play it almost every week and i love it just as much as the last time i played, its a great game i would recommend
Everything about the game is a masterpiece, from the music to the art and the story. I highly recommend it.

It is because of his cover on this soundtrack that fell in love with his channel, his piano skills, and him. This song gets me thinking about life everytime I listen to it
Listening to this music was really emotional - I'd seriously pay money to hear it from a full orchestra in-concert. I was really surprised that even basic mid-level tracks like First Steps into Sunken Glades were so great that I added them to my playlist, and instantly recognized them as you played them. Mad props to Garth Coker, and of course to you.

Man I can't thank you enough for this, I played piano for 4 years as a kid and 14 years later I just bought a piano, it's a real pleasure to practice my scales and Hanon exercises when I know I get to play your sheet of Ori right after. It's tough, especially the beginning but after only 4 days I start getting it real slow... Great playing, great sheets... I spend my days at work craving for my piano and it's also thanks to you. Truly inspirational when I see the "attack" you put on some chords and the level of relaxation of your hands. I'm in great mood thanks to you and my piano, can't thank you enough for that. Went from not playing the piano to borrowing a piano from my brother, just to learn this song. I'm 6 months in, learned the whole right hand part, 1/2 of the left hand part, and 1/4 of the song i can completely play. Hard song to begin with, but it's so rewarding. Thank you very much for this medley and the sheets. It's fantastic to learn and play.

The music is what takes the Ori game to a whole other place. Combined with the beautiful sets, it’s a masterpiece. I guess that’s why it’s taking so long to release the second installment of the franchise.

I saw you release this cover a long time ago and I just bought the game yesterday, I never wanted to listen to the music because I had already heard the soundtracks for the game were amazing, but I didn't want to spoil any of the music just yet. Now that I started playing it I don't feel bad listening to your medley and boy do I in a way regret I never listened to it, because it is amazing! You play it soooo well! God I love coming back to this one! I've been trying to perfect a medley of this on the Viola but oof, it tends to be pretty hard to make it sound good. Hearing this medley though on the Piano inspires me to learn the Piano and play this. I'm in love with the way you play, because it feels as though you always pour your best effort and emotions into playing with the dynamics and tempo. On a roller coaster of feels right now haha!
