I am a university student in Karachi, Pakistan. Im currently working on a startup of launching a cloud kitchen. Would love to listen more from you on this topic as how to run and manage these kitchens.
Hi Awais! I have several videos on my channel about Ghost Kitchens. Please have a listen and then if you need more information, I have a very affordable training course, Ghost Kitchen Bootcamp. Check it out: therestaurantboss.com/programs/ghost-kitchen-bootcamp
I guess im asking the wrong place but does anybody know a method to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot the password. I would love any tricks you can offer me!
1. I agree in part. I mean I 100% understand and agree the concept of a ghost/cloud kitchen: you are a chef that wanna have his own business, open your own restaurant is either impossible or have too much risk, so you rent a kitchen in a facility manage by a third party with a kitchen and in a month you are in business.
This seems kind of shady and misleading. What prevents restaurants from changing their name if they have a bad reputation just so that they still get business? I also think that chain restaurants are using this strategy to get in on the “local restaurant” phase by changing their name and making people think it’s a new local business which could ultimately hurt actual local restaurants. I would be more okay with it if restaurants were more transparent about it.
You bring up a good argument but it is happening and it's growing. I was nervous to get into an uber 10 years ago, I mean you want me to get into a car with a total stranger in an industry with no regulation...but today, I feel safer in an Uber than a taxi. Innovation always finds a way to meet the needs and desires of the customers if the demand is there. I do NOT see demand for delivery slowing down. What I do see is that Ghost Kitchens will be a model for 5-10 years that get us through the transition of new restaurant concepts coming into the marketplace designed to service the delivery market better than they do now.
3. And for the name. The only reason why I shouldn’t cal my take away Restaurant with its name, an make it a point of sale with my guests (hey if you like our burgers/pizzas you can have it at home as well), is because that place had a bad reputations. But at the point just do a rebrand and make the restaurant profitable again.
Ah okay I get it now. I've been in the restaurant industry for 7 years now. Foh boh Manager all that. Currently in job transition so I'm door dashing. Just wings threw me off until I figured it out. Now ghost kitchen concept makes sense.
So let me ask a question? Are drinks considered a ghost kitchen item ? I myself sell fresh squeezed lemonade at a night market and business is slower because of the cold and rain currently. I'd like to be able to make my lemonades to order and have them delivered.
The only reason that might be a challenge is that some online platforms want to see a larger menu than just a few drinks, but other than that, there is NO reason you could not do this.
@@Therestaurantboss That's what I was thinking as well. My plan was to use the lemonade as an gateway and add foods to build around the drinks. Sorta reverse menu like a Starbucks setup. My lemonades are my flagship attraction.
2. If you have your operating Restaurant, and I speak for experience, you might not be able to offer the standard to your clients sit in the restaurant on a busy lunch and take a peak of lunch order take away. Everyone dream to maximise the use of a kitchen between lunch and dinner but the reality is that most of the restaurants find them self with a demand in time of the day where they already have it.
Will this work if I do it from home? I already have a product I am selling to taquerías from my house. Will this be an issue with health department? Bc I do t have a commercial kitchen.
I suggest updating this video to reflect the many failures of ghost kitchens over the last year. Ghost kitchens are for large chains with youth appeal, like Chick-fil-A.
Hi Nandish! This video should be very helpful: ua-cam.com/video/FRLRpXM2SVk/v-deo.html I also offer a NEW training course on opening a ghost kitchen that also covers marketing. Check it out at therestaurantboss.com/programs/gkb
I don’t think it’s necessarily dying, but it is definitely evolving. One of the stories I saw the other day was talking about how companies that lease office space are noticing that a lot of clients are not returning, because they learned they can just have their employees stay at home and cut costs. So now they’re actually marketing their buildings to ghost kitchens. Because you can fit four or five into a building.

You aren't wrong in the worst case, but if you shop on Amazon then you are already embracing the shady side in the retail world, lol

Hi Stacey! The popular ones are Door Dash, Grubhub, Uber Eats, Postmates.
How spooky is the Ghost Kitchen?
Shooter McGavin?

Why would someone let me work in their restaurant for my menu? Oh okay I have to pay them then I have to pay the delivery drivers what else I got ?
Makes me wonder if the "brick and mortor" concept is dying
