@@Stalin_OnDaList I don't upload regularly, not good at making thumbnails, probably an unengaging editing style... either way, it's good to see others making it big making Paper Mario videos.
Good video man. Seeing this makes me curious about attempting this or the original with a mod that disables gaining Star Points, meaning no full-heal level-ups and bigger stage audiences.
some interesting things I've found out for several of the bosses doing this run esp in terms of Item usage: 1.Hooktail(Full power 5 damage version): Hooktail's a really.. weird case cuz she can spam Fire Breath, which would invalidate Sweet treats healing really quickly. it seems like the 5 mushrooms you're guaranteed to get could help, but it solely hinges on her not doing back to back Fire Breaths, which she can do. and also, getting 1-2 mushroom/Shine Sprite Bingos. so for this fight specifically, an exception can be made to buy and have 4-5 Fire Flowers(minimum amount). I saw I made the right decision buying a few extra Fire Flowers after seeing Fire Breath twice. 2. Rawk Hawk: I found the Free Volt Shroom's not necessary to be used, you just have to Press A to Guard Rawk Hawk's Front-Flip earlier, ie as soon as you see da animation, so the back char(Mario) will be able to guard it. (deff one of the weirder changes in da remake cuz it fundamentally significantly changes a easy guard timing from da original) I don't know if his flying press will hit da back in da 1st match, it probably doesn't. if it does, then that's a Painful rng element. 3. Macho Grubba Weirdly no items needed, but its a literal rng check of hoping he spams the +3 Defense buff over the +3 Pow Buff or +4 Charge buff. can use Volt Shroom here to Stop the Lariat. 4. Atomic Boo Surprisingly, easily Soloed by Mario alone after beatin Doopliss da first time. even w/its piercing attacks, its only 3 Damage Blocked and Power Lift+Sweet treat makes Mario basically win without needing items or a partner 5. Smorg Surprisingly the few guaranteed thunder Rages gained aren't needed, its pretty simple to knock out da first 2 tentacles w/Mario and then set up on the last one. the only problem's Smorg's last phase where it'll do at least 6 damage w/Power Lift's buffs, but you have a turn to prepare for that, so the Smorg Miasma can be beaten w/yoshi, and the boss Smorg gets beaten the following turn 6. Bowser+Kammy this's where the Free Volt Shroom would deff come in handy, provided Bowser uses his Stomp or bite more than Fire Breath
@@MLmaster135 There’s probably more ways to win without items or even partner assistance, but... there's a lot of items. I could have afforded to scrooge less. You also have a second Volt Shroom on the moon, but idk why that would be helpful for Bowser & Kammy. The AI lock is GameCube exclusive
@@PhantomAarantula I think, while the Bowser AI lock's exclusive to Gamecube version, the occasional extra 1 damage from both Volt Shrooms, assuming Bowser does more contact attacks over Fire Breath, might make a somewhat slight Difference between living or losing 🤔 I dunno if da free Mr Mini would work, but considering yoshi's mini-egg does work on Bowser, it should work to afford some protection for a few turns. Weirdly its actually possible to beat every boss up to and including Magnus 2.0 w/o using a single item in this run, w/the exception of Hooktail due to da reasons above. Grodus.. seems theoretically possible w/o items, but needs galeforce and somehow, a way to be able to have the time to attack the staff+him doing useless moves. I deff think Scrooging Items is a good thing for this run cuz there's only a few rng reliant fights this run deff gave me more appreciation as to how useful certain items could be, as well as the Appeal command (Appeal's a lot more important than I thought, cuz of how low SP sometimes tends to fill normally, depending on da audience)
@MrGameguyC Not really. I probably could try for Prince Mush, but it would likely get super samey since he's designed around superguards. And Whacka has the capacity to attack so many times for so much damage, Superguards would be nigh required for him, too unless it's with Vivian where Veil just shuts him down. Not to mention the latter half of the pit needing to be repeated before each fight.
No EXP + Solo Mario = TTYD if it was a modern Paper Mario game

@MrGameguyC There's an idea. Though, after trying this challenge, I think I've had my fill on full game challenges for a while.

why the hell can you use showstopper on prince mush 😭
@@browastaken. I don't know, lol. But most bosses in Chapter 8 can be one-shot by it.

@@PhantomAarantula Fair. Those bosses were designed more in a specific manner, so probably not the most enjoy under those guidelines.
