Yea, it originally started as a joke during a Sea of Thieves episode and the joke kinda stuck since then. They even made a EPMC blog vid.

Anyways IIRC ellis did a well actually about metals and then someone joked about how him starting up a club for precious(in the gollum from lord o the rings kind of way) metals, and then the joke kept resurfacing
