I also believe that Jensen Ackles is one of the prime candidates for Ares. I know everyone wants Tom Hardy and I can see why, but I feel like Jensen also has the acting capabilities to pull off the complexities of a character like Ares. I've seen him play characters like Dean Winchester, the Archangel Michael, and Jason Todd and master the complexities of each character. He's in his element when he plays a character who is enraged and bloodthirsty but also has a sense of arrogance with the terrifying strength to back it up. He knows how to portray rash, unthinking rage, but he also knows how to depict that sort of calm, simmering rage that makes Ares really calculating and dangerous. However, the thing that makes Jensen really stand out as the best actor to play the role is how he acts as a paternal figure. Even though Ares is a jackass for most of the time, he exudes an almost benevolent type of tough love or cares when it comes to his kids, which is more than what some of the other gods do for their kids. He's a douchebag to everyone else, but he actually does give a crap about his kids. I'd honestly say that he is the third-best godly parent after Poseidon and Hades. Also, Jensen has a really dry sense of humor in real life that he could adapt into his portrayal that would work well with the character. Plus, Mark Sheppard and Jensen spent 7.5 years acting together on Supernatural. I don't remember if Ares and Dionysus ever had screen time together, but if so, it would be easy for them to develop that chemistry since they had years of experience working together.
Ricks involved, I don’t think he’d stay if it started turning out like that. He didn’t stick around for the films cuz they were shit from the beginning.
Rick is involved. And if he despises the movies which is an okay movie taken on it's own and has a more resemblance than the Artemis Fowl movie, I think we're good.
@Suravi Balaji it's on Disney+. It would probably be a good idea to watch it yourself and make up your own mind. Though based on what I've heard about it (haven't seen it yet), movie Artemis isn't the same as book Artemis.
What I love about Mark Sheppard is that these days when Dionysus is portrayed in pop culture he tends to be stock-typed as just a party boy, but if look into his mythology and origins he's got a lot of dark/crazy to him (see The Bacchae) which Sheppard can just bring without even trying. I know Seeker said he's prioritizing book portrayals over historical myths, which is wise, but if we can get a little bit of the greater mythos laced in then it's extra fun!
Book Dionysus definitely has that lurking under the surface. I wouldn't say any part of his personality resembles a fun-loving party boy in PJO, other than his taste for wine. He's apathetic and abrasive, and when the facade drops he's terrifying. Though I suppose he must have a softer side, given some of the actions he takes in the series.
@@bookswithike3256 Yeah, we especially got a glimpse of that in book 1 when Percy took a real deep look into his eyes. Speaking of eyes, that's a big thing I hope they don't screw up in the TV series, since the eyes are one of the key points in a lot of characters, especially gods, descriptions.
Me watching this video: You casting Ares: Hmm, yeah I can see it. You casting Chiron: Hmm, yeah I can see it. You casting Sally: Hmm, yeah I can see it. You casting Gabe: OH HO HO! PERFECT!
Just randomly, I was in a Greek mythology comedy play once, and I played Hera. It was hilarious, and I actually loved playing a character so different from me.
Can't wait for you to cast Nico and Bianca Di Angelo, Thalia, Hephaestus, Calypso, Rachel, Selena, Will, Beckendorf, Aphrodite, Athena, and the Stoll Brothers

Okay, that was really good. The only one that lined up with my own casting was Vincent D'onofrio, and most of your choices I hadn't even considered for those roles, but the moment you showed a clip it was like, yeah, okay, I see where you're going there.
I’ve watched all the movies the Vincent D’onofrio is in and didn’t even realise he was the same actor. When I saw him as kingpin then the guard from Jurassic world I was shook. He’s a good actor and could def play gabe really well
I love the idea of Mark Sheppard as Mr D, but I gotta say, having only really seen him as Crowley with the fancy suits, seeing him in a loud Hawaiian shirt might just break me.
I love the recasting you're doing so far! To be honest, the lightning thief movie has a little soft spot in my heart because this movie introduced me to the books and Rick Riordan, so therefore I am grateful it exists :)
I always love that you find actors that fit the role and I would never think of Great reasoning behind the choices too, particularly about Luke having to seem like a part of camp, which is something I hadn’t considered
I truly seriously hope that this disney+ series Will become a huge success. Then we might have a chance to see The heroes of Olympus series on The big screen...
Also thought Natalia Tena for Sally? Oh and as soon as the description for Mr D, I immediately thought Bret Garret (think that's his name, Murray from Stranger Things; sounds like they're basically the same person). Should say I've not read the books but I want to
First movie that comes to mind when you hear "Linda Cardellini"? Personally its her character Dolores in Green Book. Viggo Mortensens wife. Also my favourite casting in this video has to be Timothy Dalton. Amazing choice.
@@ollieacres5736 I honestly feel like TLOK is more suited for live action then ATLA. It is much maturer and doesn't rely as much on child like animation and jokes
I think Korra is a great option for live action, a lot of the architecture is based on modern buildings, and it’s a lot more urban fantasy. Also it’s less childish and meant to be more mature than ATLA. So a live action extended version of season 1 of Korra would be amazing.
Or, how about this new topic? Just for fun and a bit of a hypothetical, but recast the MCU, but if made in the mid-60s to early 80s. I got this topic when someone asked what if Adam West's Batman, Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman and Christopher Reeve's Superman, crossover together and formed the Justice League? I mean think of all the possibilities. Also, creating such a project can actually change film history for good, especially when all the production comes to place, a series like this in the time period would require so many practical effects, matte paintings, multi-pass exposers, and whatever visuals possible. As for casting, this would lead to even more possible ways to influence movie history. So lets start of with Iron Man. If you're interested in this first casting I'll go further with more castings like Captain America, Hulk and Thor. So Iron Man: Tony Stark/Iron Man: I went with Charles Bronson. He's in his 40s at that time and I know he's known for playing in westerns as vigilante characters but maybe this time he can allow himself to break type-casting. James Rhodes/War Machine: I went with Sidney Poitier. Ever since he did In The Heat of The Night, he shoulds that he can be a leader and make friendship with others even when they don't agree. Happy Hogan: I went with a comedian for this role, Rodney Dangerfield. I know he's kniwn for only late night TV at that time, but I think if he did something like this at that time, he probably would be incredible, though he would need to get in shape for the role. I don't want the series to be humorless and I think this character can brighten up things. Pepper Potts: A hard one, but I went with Mareen O'Hara. I remember her from Miracle on 34th Street and The Parent Trap. But throughout most her career, she shows she can play characters that have the passion a character like Pepper Potts has. So there you have it, for right now. If anyone sees this as interesting, like and comment down below your thoughts and I'll continue and do Iron Man villians and then the other Avengers.
If we're doing the 'fantasy young adult novel' thing, as that seems to be a theme here (love it!), would you consider doing a Michael Vey casting? I think there's a lot of depth and really interesting characters in that series, and it has never been adapted into a film or series! I know it's a little too close to Percy Jackson (lightning powered kids) to do right away, but PLEASE consider it for the future! Much love
For Ares, I went with Vinnie Jones. In the Lightning Thief, he plays a menacing brute who could intimidate anyone, whereas he becomes more comedic as the series goes on. If anyone has seen Galavant (or his football career), they'll know he can make this work. I had Hugh Laurie as Mr. D. He has the perfect amount of sarcasm as well as being able to transition to threatening when required, as he showed for many years on House. With Chiron, I chose Kyle Chandler. He seems the perfect amount of compassion mixed with worry and the odd annoyance at Percy's antics. For Medusa, I chose Lucy Liu. She feels like she has the perfect voice for the role where she could lull you into a false sense of security as well as the ability to film a kick-ass fight scene. For Sally, I chose Mandy Moore. She just has the perfect amount of warmth and caring that would be required for the role. For Gabe, I chose Cary Elwes. He's definitely capable of going full sleazeball as we've seen in things like Stranger Things or Twister. I just get that vibe from his performances that he could nail this. And I didn't cast Luke because I don't want to cast any campers as I want entirely unknown faces.
@@fashionablechangeling2003 It's the only thing I dislike about the casting tbh since she is Middle Eastern, but I just couldn't think of another actress who fit the bill I pictured or a big enough reason to keep her as a Middle Eastern woman in the context of the story.

11:15 i completely agree with the luke choice, since if the percy jackson movies succeded, luke (stop reading if you havent read the entire series) would suck, because he needs to have that change at the end, and when he looks evil, he... looks evil. he doesnt look like hes able to pull that change off. also, who would play younger luke? in percy's dream about annabeth' flashbacks, and when she says the exposition, because exposition suck in movies. either show, dont tell, or show AND tell. just tell kinda sucks in movies. in books it makes sense, after all, that is the entire thing about books.
Hey! After you're done with this series, would you consider casting the characters of Keeper of the Lost Cities for the movie/series that they are planning to make?
These were fantastic choices but I think someone who would be even better in the role of Chiron might be Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth from Game of Thrones). He has the strong and almost humble grand voice and vibe while still being able to come off as fatherly and kind with boundless wisdom, I think he could really nail the role

Woahhh who you casted as Luke kinda blew my mind and I do not think I’d be mad at it if it happened, I just never thought of it like wow that’d be really cool to see
I really like your Luke and that clip you showed with him and Kieran gave me Luke and Annabeth vibes. Juliana Harkevy from Arrow would be my choice for Sally
Hephaestus, Kevin Durand. He's made a career of being muscle-head or military type roles in the past, but like in "The Strain" playing Fet or "Swamp Thing" playing Dr. Woodrue, he's moved on from such roles to play precisely what you need from the god of smiths; someone who gives off a sense of complete professional pride and work ethic in what expert work they do. He also has a hint of being creepy, maybe misanthropic, or maybe misunderstood and emotionally-guarded, all traits that better serve a portrayal of Hephaestus. And lastly, he's a big dude. He's big, intimidating, and he's no stranger to wearing prosthetics and heavy makeup for a role (like "X-Men Origins" or "Dark Angel"), so if they decide they want to make him more deformed/mangled, by all means they can go all out on it.
I was hoping you casted Charon, I know is not a big role but I just loved him in the book, he's so good! Can't wait fot the next video. Just to imagine Hermes, George and Martha... 💗
My only complaint that he doesn't look like someone who is the most powerful guy in Camp Half-Blood for 300 years. Seems a bit too soft. But I like the concealed darkness and complex Luke that he would bring.
@@amu7379 wait but isnt that the point? That Luke seems like he's kind of not Powerful? I like him as Mitchell Hope cuz at the very begining you will literely think "what this guy can do?" I think so too. And even though, we haven't seen Bryan's fancast of Hermes yet, I feel like Jensen Ackles would be perfect for the role as Luke's father. I just feel like him being Hermes would get him a more prominent role throughout the show, which is something I would like to see. I love the idea of Jensen being this chill, down-to-earth, fun-loving god of mischief who just wants everyone to get along. And again, the fatherly aspect of both the actor and the character just fit really well. (Truth be told, that would legitimately give me Dean Winchester vibes.) And even though, we rarely see Hermes get angry in the books besides The Last Olympian, I think that Jensen would be able to pull of the righteous fury of an Olympian god. Plus, whenever I pictured Hermes, I always thought of someone who had to be extremely attractive in order to have as many kids as he did in the books, and Jensen pretty much fits the bill. However, I also I know that at some point, possibly in 4-6 years, Jensen is going to reunite with Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins to do a spin-off of Supernatural, and if the PJO series isn't set to come out until maybe next year or the year after next, that may interfere with the spin-off he's trying to do. But hey, who knows what'll happen. Maybe he can balance both or maybe he'll postpone SPN a few more years. But hey, I'm rambling so don't mind me. I'm just a Supernatural girl who loves Percy Jackson.

I don't know if you've read them, but you should consider doing a live action Dragonlance Chronicles cast! They made an animated movie based on the first book a long time ago but it hasn't quite gotten to the stage of serious conversations for a movie or series. Plus, Mark Sheppard and Jensen spent 7.5 years acting together on Supernatural. I don't remember if Ares and Dionysus ever had screen time together, but if so, it would be easy for them to develop that chemistry since they had years of experience working together.
@@struggleskywalker1025 we were discussing Mr. D but go off. I agree

If this turns out *anything* like Artemis Fowl then I will cry
Ricks involved, I don’t think he’d stay if it started turning out like that. He didn’t stick around for the films cuz they were shit from the beginning.
Rick is involved. And if he despises the movies which is an okay movie taken on it's own and has a more resemblance than the Artemis Fowl movie, I think we're good.
Same
@Suravi Balaji it's on Disney+. It would probably be a good idea to watch it yourself and make up your own mind. Though based on what I've heard about it (haven't seen it yet), movie Artemis isn't the same as book Artemis.
Jesus imagine being casted for a character who's only characteristic is UGLY.
Are you referring to Gabe or Medusa?
And smelly
I think it's more meant to be an ugly personality, and obv an overweight bald white guy works in these roles
well whoever took it would be self aware and secure enough to play it most likely.
@@bookswithike3256
Yeah, we especially got a glimpse of that in book 1 when Percy took a real deep look into his eyes.
Speaking of eyes, that's a big thing I hope they don't screw up in the TV series, since the eyes are one of the key points in a lot of characters, especially gods, descriptions.

You casting Ares: Hmm, yeah I can see it.
You casting Chiron: Hmm, yeah I can see it.
You casting Sally: Hmm, yeah I can see it.

Mark Sheppard as Mr. D is a stroke of genius!!
Hello boys.

Tom Hardy as the god of war. Definetly.
I don't know how but you always seem to just innately understand fandoms and what is important to them it's kind of incredible, thanks as per usual Mr Seeker.
Mark Shepherd is always the same type of character in everything he does, and he's amazing in it all.
I look forward to seeing his cast ideas for Artemis in "Titan's Curse"
are you going to do the heroes of olympus as well?
Gods, I hope so
Okay, that was really good. The only one that lined up with my own casting was Vincent D'onofrio, and most of your choices I hadn't even considered for those roles, but the moment you showed a clip it was like, yeah, okay, I see where you're going there.
I can't wait to see who he casts as Nico!!
Linda Cardinelli as Sally Jackson is beyond perfection my God!!
I always love that you find actors that fit the role and I would never think of
Great reasoning behind the choices too, particularly about Luke having to seem like a part of camp, which is something I hadn’t considered
I love the music in the background! It makes it feel so epic and thrilling! I am so hyped about some of my favourite books getting a series!!
I truly seriously hope that this disney+ series Will become a huge success. Then we might have a chance to see The heroes of Olympus series on The big screen...
That switch from Vincent Tanafio to Gabe was outta pocket
I hope do the ring of cabins justice, they were beautiful in the books description. Also I wanna see some Stoll brothers pranks, ngl
the moment you realize that the majority of the glee cast would be perfect as the gods and monsters
Once again, 10/10 would recommend!! This was fantastic!
As long as one of the live action remakes between ATLA and PJ is good I can cope with the other bombing
Also thought Natalia Tena for Sally? Oh and as soon as the description for Mr D, I immediately thought Bret Garret (think that's his name, Murray from Stranger Things; sounds like they're basically the same person). Should say I've not read the books but I want to
Why are comments deactivated on the new video?
that's what i'm thinking
Because I'd like to note that circe is no goddess, just an enchantress.
I love the choice of Tom Hardy as Aries it’s great
First movie that comes to mind when you hear "Linda Cardellini"?
Personally its her character Dolores in Green Book. Viggo Mortensens wife.
Also my favourite casting in this video has to be Timothy Dalton. Amazing choice.
That Sally Jackson casting is 👌👌👌
Exactly how I picture her
Just an idea, could you do cast for the live action version of legend of korra?
Meh I don’t know if korra is a good idea for live-action
@@ollieacres5736 I honestly feel like TLOK is more suited for live action then ATLA. It is much maturer and doesn't rely as much on child like animation and jokes
@@gvision1637 I don’t like either sooo
So Iron Man:
Tony Stark/Iron Man: I went with Charles Bronson.
I never pictured Mark Sheppard as Mr. D BUT I LOVE IT!!!!
Much love
Hi, i love your videos! can you do the roman demigods? Jason is one of my favourite characters, along with Nico.
Love this casting!
Are you planning on doing Mrs Dodds in Last Olympian or some bonus episode? I'd love to see your pick for her!
Great choices
Also, good on you for remembering that Medusa isn't white
@@fashionablechangeling2003 It's the only thing I dislike about the casting tbh since she is Middle Eastern, but I just couldn't think of another actress who fit the bill I pictured or a big enough reason to keep her as a Middle Eastern woman in the context of the story.
@@michaeloconnor5904 TBH, Medusa is supposed to be just the voice and presence since we're not supposed to see her face. Medusa was one of the characters I didn't cast because I couldn't think of anyone to play her
@@fashionablechangeling2003 Eva Green would be a good shout, but while I feel somewhat okay changing the race from Persian to Asian, I don't think white-washing would be the way to go. But I gotta figure they'll do it similarly to how the movie did where they show the scene with her face unobscured.
11:15 i completely agree with the luke choice, since if the percy jackson movies succeded, luke (stop reading if you havent read the entire series)
would suck, because he needs to have that change at the end, and when he looks evil, he... looks evil. he doesnt look like hes able to pull that change off.
also, who would play younger luke? in percy's dream about annabeth' flashbacks, and when she says the exposition, because exposition suck in movies. either show, dont tell, or show AND tell. just tell kinda sucks in movies. in books it makes sense, after all, that is the entire thing about books.
there are no Percy Jackson films here in Ba Sing Se
Mitchell Hope as Luke is a stroke of absolute genius
Looking at what you were considering I also think Kevin Quinn as Luke would have been a good choice
I agree with all your casting choices! They are all really amazing!!!!
Can you do a recast of Narnia
She’s perfect for Medusa. But I’d like eva to have a role that would be recurring

I liked the Chiron actor in SoM, he played it well. More closer to what book Chiron is than the first film
better castings than what they're going with imo
Friendly reminder: Chiron is a white stallion. It was another thing the Peter Johnson movies got wrong, just reminding
I'd love to see you cast characters from the Cherub books if they were to do a tv show. One of the biggest book franchises to never receive any films or shows
Woahhh who you casted as Luke kinda blew my mind and I do not think I’d be mad at it if it happened, I just never thought of it like wow that’d be really cool to see
I lovee your videos!
why is the most recent video's comments turned off?
Willem Dafoe as Chiron, because he did well as vulko (another mentor figure) in aquaman, but timothy Dalton is great casting
Once again, perfect casting.
I was hoping you casted Charon, I know is not a big role but I just loved him in the book, he's so good!
Can't wait fot the next video. Just to imagine Hermes, George and Martha... 💗
I like Mitchell Hope for Luke. Good choice.
I like him as Mitchell Hope cuz at the very begining you will literely think "what this guy can do?" @@wongdc3993 He is kind at first but my impression of him when reading is that he's the capable, tough type of kind since right from the get go he's "the best swordsman in 300 years" or something like that, while Mitchell Hope gives a bit of "shy" vibes in my opinion.
@@amu7379 yeah u got a point but you might never know he could pull it off 😊
I think so too. I think if I saw him as Hermes, I would honestly cry from the emotional depth of him trying to be a decent father to Luke, but also being more aloof and guilt-ridden. (Truth be told, that would legitimately give me Dean Winchester vibes.)
And even though, we rarely see Hermes get angry in the books besides The Last Olympian, I think that Jensen would be able to pull of the righteous fury of an Olympian god.
But aside from that, I also, I think he resembles Mitchell Hope who Bryan cast as Luke (same color hair, similar noses, even similar down to the green eyes), so that's another plus for him being Hermes too, if you think about it. But hey, I'm rambling so don't mind me. I'm just a Supernatural girl who loves Percy Jackson.
This was literally perfect
Tom Hardy would be great for Ares. He could also nail the more benevolent side of him that we see with Frank in Heroes of Olympus
He's a good choice, but if they can't afford him or if he doesn't want it, then Jensen Ackles is another great underrated actor who could definitely pull playing Ares imo.
@@struggleskywalker1025 hear me out Jensen as Hermes
@@gabis314 Oh, I could see that too. I actually have three choices: Jensen Ackles (if he can't be cast as Ares), Ian Somerhalder, or Ewan McGregor (although, that might be difficult since he's also gonna be doing the Kenobi TV show.)
Honestly, though, I kinda hope that Jensen gets cast as Ares, despite the fact that he would do well as either Hermes or Ares.

I don't know if you've read them, but you should consider doing a live action Dragonlance Chronicles cast! They made an animated movie based on the first book a long time ago but it hasn't quite gotten to the stage of serious conversations for a movie or series. Apparently Joe Manganiello (who is too old to play any of the main characters anyway) has been advocating for one because he loves D&D and Dragonlance is based on D&D.
