    Flannel is classic and warm and practical and will never ever go out of style. Button -downs are a totally different kind of clothing.

    Excellent presentation and spot on advice! I've heard it said, what a beautiful winter coat! No one has ever said, what a nice plaid shacket😮. Those are best left for days in a log cabin, stuck inside due to snow! Thanks for your time!

    “Plannel”?! You just invented a new word that we really need! 😆👏👏👏 That said, I have to disagree with your take on plaid flannel shirts…. It very much depends on where you live and on your lifestyle. Plaid flannel shirts are iconic to the US Pacific Northwest, as well as here in the Rocky Mountain region; they will *never* be out of style here. Living in the mountains, where winters are long and snowy, I rely on flannel shirts, merino wool, and cashmere. I love spending time outdoors year-round & hate paying high heating bills! It’s difficult to look “classy” when your teeth are chattering!
    I love my crisp, white button-downs, but they are more useful as spring/fall transition pieces, unless maybe you live and work in a warmer urban area and/or spend winter in an overheated building. In the winter, the only way I wear my poplin button-downs is layered under a chunky wool sweater. “Fashion” is fun, but “style” is personal, and includes looking your best while simultaneously meeting needs of comfort and practicality.

      Hiiiiiii! I love your reply here. Very much intentional, balanced in thought and meaning as well as, providing examples. Thank you for that. I hope others will read it too because I absolutely agree. Style is 100% personal and I love that as a community we still get to define it and not be hard and fast! I never want my fashion videos or so to come off as a hard rule so I’ll be more cognizant of that ☺️.
      I totally get it, flannel is very practical for where you live and I bet you still look fabulous even if it is brutally cold hehe! I live in Los Angeles so my fashion sense is sometimes a bit skewed to the weather we experience.
      But can we talk about how amazing it is that you spend so much time outdoors? Do you have a garden? A farm? I ask because I grew up in rural Jamaica 🇯🇲 and I spent so much time outdoors as a kid and now I find that I want to go back to that lifestyle. More so a blend of fashionable farm life hehe! I hope to do so in the next decade of my life :)
      Thanks for watching and providing your thoughtful insights 🤗❤️💫

    Im not sure plaid winter scarf is dated. Im going to say they are pretty timeless. Even the Burberry ones people all wore in the 00s are not dated looking. They just look like a winter scarf. And them big blankety like the oversized Acne scarves I see on runways in 2024.

    • @keymaoliver
      @keymaoliver  Рік тому +2

      I agree mostly! I’m talking more about the tartan printed ones I shared in the photo visuals. They’re dated to me (though I do like green & blue tartan print). I completely agree with Burberry print! That’s in a whole different league. In a couple previous videos where I talk about classy staples & quiet luxury , I reference Burberry print in anything as a classy & timeless print. I love Acne studios, I actually have one of their large blanket scarf. I got it as a gift two Christmas ago and it’s so cozy and beautiful. Can wait to break it out. Thanks for watching and your insight. I’m posting my Winter 2024 Trends video next t week so stay tuned. Would love to hear your thoughts on it 💫❤️

    I love hats. The big plus for me is that they protect my face from the sun. Lots of department stores have hats but they are too big for my head. I have found one store that is eight hours away from me that have hats I can try one that fit me and I can take home. I do wish there were more hat stores. They are usually in large cities. These outdated styles unfortunately are still being made and sold. You may like them but they are just not in the current fashion. It's funny how styles from about three or four years ago look almost like todays, but with a tweek. Look for those small tweaks to update your style but buying a a lot of clothes during these hard times is just not practical. Wear what you have, tweak the small things and be sure to get quality items that will not go out of date.

    • @keymaoliver
      @keymaoliver  11 місяців тому

      Funny am the opposite, I have such a big head the average hat doesn’t fit me. I’ve found one son Amazon though and Lack of Colors give size options which I love. I agree, most styles are just little tweaks and yes we should wear what we have and for those who want to add one or two or a couple of items they can do so too. And yes to quality- cannot go wrong. Thanks for watching

    As someone who lives in the mountains in Colorado, I disagree about plaid flannels. Everyone wears flannels here, but if I switched to a white button down or a blazer, I would look super weird. I'm sure the same can be said for said for a lot of other places.
    This seems like a generalization for specific areas. I think regional fashion needs to be considered by people, and that people shouldn't blindly follow advice like this. Fashion in NYC or LA will be super different than other places.
    Flannels never go out of style because they are cute, casual, and practical.

    • @keymaoliver
      @keymaoliver  6 місяців тому

      Valid point! Someone else made this exact point who live in mountain areas about the plaid/flannel. At the end of the day we always have to remember fashion is personal and we all should wear what we love or what fits an area/region. I’ll always give my opinion based on my style but it’s not hard and fast :). Thanks for watching. Appreciate the feedback.

    What to wear when all the tall shaft ankle boots have too high of a heel?? I cannot wear a high heel they’re all 2 1/2 inches which is too high for me. I get really frustrated because the boots you said that out of style ,are low healed and look great and are comfortable.😢

    Nice production elements but your style recommendations seem really East Coast /Mid Atlantic cold weather office jobs and not international. Not really practical for those of us who work labor intense jobs in the heat and warm weather. I’ll take a look at a summer video, maybe that will be more helpful. 90’s are very in so, so is plaid. Just my two cents. Thank you for putting this out there.

    It would be good if you would give actual examples of ankle boots that look good on different width feet and ankles rather than just saying to consider those factors. Examples are more powerful than words.

      I think that would be an entirely different video focus solely on that topic as I couldn’t go into examples for different feet types in this video. It would be way too long!
