Thank you Mike Campbell. We share your love and grief for our beloved Tom Petty. The music you and your friends made changed the world. Incredible joy, and unrelenting sadness shared, and our time will come soon too as well. What an amazing life you've shared with the whole world Mike, touching all our hearts with your most amazing guitar playing. Then, now and forever, we and many to come shall listen and love. RIP Tom.
@@ameerordimly1449 Yes, anything I post on my channel, I recorded. As far as being in the right place, I just try to get to the shows that interest me.
It’s tough for me because I lost my sister the same way in 2009but I didn’t where my heart on my sleeve . Loss is a state of grace... the music is graceful and lovely. It’s hard now to watch Mike Campbell sing this song now because I think his tears are gator tears just like crocodile tears .! He is really not a very sensitive person that’s why he is..........
Your a real brother mikey ..your doing toms legacy well .......this is what he would want from you boys .......he might be gone but he'll never be forgotten....we all need to here these songs from you guys .. we need it ..and he wants you to give them to us ... he might not be here ... but you boys are ... these songs need to be heard....there just as much yours as they were his and i feel he wants you to play on ......for us ...for you boys ... and for him ....love you guys

This was brave and quite emotional. Loss like this doesn't always subside easily with time. The grief comes and goes in spurts and waves. It will be a long, long time for Mike to heal. Through the music, peace and acceptance will start to flow. Beautiful, nice, super talented. Love to you, Mike Campbell! .💔
So very moving! Tears are flowing. Such a loving tribute to Tom, by Mike! He sang, and played wonderfully "for Tom!" ♡ ..And for all of us who miss Tom so, in our own way. And love He and Mike so dearly.♡ Thank you!
Absolutely Mike loved Tom, and out of respect is playing these songs as hard as it must be for him. This song offers hope for something better, and believe me....it is coming!
Man how he stood next to him for all those years never asked for any credit, and one day I was watchin them play live and was like holy s, mike is the sound behind all those songs...
I knew all this time you were the real deal and that Tom wouldn't have every chosen you to be his road brother and rock and roll sergeant at electrical arms unless you were the real deal.
Mike Campbell is a very under rated guitarist. He needs to be mentioned with the greats. We are still lucky that Mike is still with us. Keeping TPs spirit alive with us
Ah Mike, I can see so plainly the grief that surrounds you at this particular time during that first year after Tom's death. It breaks my heart, your grief does, however I chose this outlook regarding grief. Grief strikes from out of no where. It Blindsides you and its fierce in its intensity. As painful as grief is, when I lose someone whom I love deeply, be it family or friend, I will gladly bare the pain grief brings. I wear it as a badge of honor for the time needed as I adjust to their loss in my life. I do so because of all those moments of sharing a life with them, the fun, the laughter, the creative energy, and for you the music counted out in many moments and many years. This pain you now feel will fade as the grief passes through you. You don't know how long this grief will last but it is such a small amount in time if you look at the totality of that friendship of so many years. The price paid with your pain and tears is such a small amount of time when included with the entire time you spent with them spanning many many year. So to me the little amount time spent in grief I will gladly bear with no hesitation. I know that changing my way of thinking about grief in this way is what carries me through those tough days. One day you will look back and smile and say Tom you were worth every stab of pain the raced through me, you were worth every tear. It is then that you can go back and think of him without those days of sadness and heartbreak.
Robin Carney Your eloquent words and feelings shared about grief, from your amazing perspective, are both poignant, and comforting. Thank you for sharing your profound perspective on grieving loved ones we've lost, and about grieving our beloved T.P. 🎩 Such an incredibly wise and beautiful way to look at grief.💖
I still remember the time and where I was when I heard Tom Petty had passed away.. I was in complete shock. 4 years later since toms passing and this tribute by Mike and the crew still has my eyes watering and that’s saying a lot for someone who doesn’t cry. Great job Mike.
Oh gosh thank you so much Mike. Your friend is right - you definitely played this “FOR” him. I know that he’s looking down on you with such tremendous pride, I have no doubt. Know that and hold it close to your heart, just like we do. He held you close, like a true brother. I heard him say that several times. Both you and Belmont too ❤️ We love you so much Mike, just like TP did and I’m sure he still does. You and your guitar-playing were definitely the sound of the Heartbreakers. I heard TP say that also several times about you. You hang in there Mike and may God bless you and yours. Continue to honor him like you do. We all love you for it, Mike ❤️❤️
Mike keep playing Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers music as well as your own. I've loved you guys ever since I first American Girl in 1976... bought they album the same day. There's no rush so please don't hurry but someday you'll get to play with Tom again. RIP Tom💘
There is nothing to not adore about this. Love this song. Love Mike. Love Tom. And thank you for capturing and uploading such an amazing piece of music history for us all to see and preserve.
Thank you for sharing this. Mike was always one of my favorite players. He's been overlooked by the general public who would pick the obvious guys if asked to list the best guitarists. Sadly it's taken losing Tom for people to discover Mike.
Haunting, emotional, powerful, and riveting. Thank you. Mike is in the upper echelon of rock guitarists imo. Fantastically understated. Love his style & grace.
I’ve always thought this is one hell of a band ! What a beautiful and painful tribute, I really could feel Mike’s pain! Very passionate and very beautiful voice, sincere that’s when you really sing your best and that’s what Mike Campbell just did he sang with his voice and his soul and you have a beautiful , intense and more importantly an authentic performance. The music was gorgeous, and I’ve always loved this song because it speaks for my own up bringing as well. Very, very nice!♥️🙏🏻😔✌️🧚🏻♂️
It was one of my very favorite songs too...and was lucky enough to see TPATH's perform it the one time they did, on the 40th Anniversary Tour opening night in Oklahoma City.
Pure Art. Nice Work Mike Campbell and The Dirty Knobs.
One of Tom’s more beautiful songs. Absolutely awesome job.
This song reminds of something that Charlie Parr would play. Beautiful.
Thank you Mike! Carry on with the music - It's what Tom would have wanted..... And we need you to!
Mikey Guitar Campbell ... God bless you, a great friend.
Mike, it was beautiful. We love you Mike! Prayers for you and the rest of TPN. God bless!

"Something Good Coming"
I'm watching the water
Watching the coast
Suddenly I know
What I want the most
And I want to tell you
Still I hold back
I need some time
Get my life on track
I know that look on your face
But there's somethin' lucky about this place
And there's somethin' good comin'
For you and me
Somethin' good comin'
There has to be
And I'm thinking 'bout mama
And about the kids
And the way we lived
And the things we did
How she never had a chance
Never caught a break
And how we pay for our big mistakes
I know so well the look on your face
And there's somethin' lucky about this place
There's somethin' good comin'
Just over the hill
Somethin' good comin'
I know it will
And I'm in for the long run
Wherever it goes
Ridin' the river
Wherever it goes
And I'm an honest man
Work's all I know
You take that away
Don't know where to go
And I know that look that's on your face
There's somethin' lucky about this place
There's somethin' good comin'
For you and me
Somethin' good comin'
There has to be

We are, Tom could not have had a better friend than Mike...how lucky they BOTH were.
Mike is rated #79 out of the Top 100 guitarists by Rolling Stone Magazine.
Excited to see Mike with Fleetwood Mac!! Love his dynamic!! Should be interesting!!
Music Dude too low!
I would personally rate him higher than #79, probably better than # 50 .He is so versatile and doesn't overplay the song as many guitarists do.
