I never understood why this song was in brawl yet he wasn’t a playable character, I think he would’ve been perfect for brawl and could’ve had a important role as a villain in the subspace emissary, this song even plays during the stages in brawls story mode

Maybe copyright problems. Since Microsoft bought Rare Ltd, K.Rool was no longer part of Nintendo (alongside Banjo Kazooie). And yet we got Diddy as the only DK character who survived Microsoft's madness. Maybe it would've been the case.

I'd say King K. Rool/Ship Deck (2) is an honorable recreation of the original theme, whilst Gangplank Galleon is a faithful reimagining . Both are good, but for completely different reasons.
