Seriously plz someone tell him about Junior Seau. Now might seem like great idea but it seriously is a mental risk. I played for a long long time and all the concussion I got from football and MMA I have some many days I can not remember anything
Tedy Bruschi brings up a great point “can you live with this?”. I could never live with exchanging a few more years of football for a lifetime of being healthy with my family. Tua already has more than enough money for his family already, enjoy it with them bro
Each to their own. I’ve suffered multiple concussions and played through them. It’s a medical decision at the end. If he is cleared and he wants to play then let him play. I’m 50 and no headaches or issues when sun is out.. yet 🤞🏾
A guardian cap would not have helped in this situation. Look at how far his neck twisted and compressed into his spine. Promoting guardian caps over this situation is laughable!
Raiders fan from the UK here. I’ve seen so many concussions in rugby and also seen how the players suffer later that the only thing I can say is give it up Tua. Think of your family man
He is thinking of his family by being able to support generations upon generations of his blood line. Cowards like you have no idea what being selfless is. It’s always me me me. 70 years of life is just a spec of dust. I’d give up my life for my future generations to be set forever.
you could also use that "think of your family" logic by creating generational wealth and sacrificing your mental health for it, its sucks but i know my UK (and Canadian) ancestors sacrificed their mental health for their future generations by volunteering and being sent to the western front as infantry in both world wars.
fr and mcdaniels said nothing wrong... hes in fact right tua shouldn't adding stress on his brain when suffering a concussion. If this is the hill tua wants to die on so be it. Sucks cause he has a wife and two kids, but thats his choice.
Y'all acting like 4 cuncussions total are gonna kill this man and ruin his life. Y'all have no idea what you're talking about. Use Troy Aikman and all Power slap fighters as a reference.
@@Turtledirait's different believe ir or not and Concussions are hit or miss and every one is different I was a pro fighter with 2 pro fights most of the time the knock outs from punches aren't Concussions they pinch a nerve which cuts oxygen off too the brain a Concussion from tackles are from the brain bouncing of the skull and bruising the brain
Oh yea and they have months off at a time enough so to actually heal from the damage foot players don't get that luxury too fully heal from a Concussion it takes 2-4 moths and if u get another on in the time frame it jumps too 4-8 months and it usually causes worst injuries so power slap and mma fights are less risk then foot for serious brain injuries
Guys Tua has too say I have no plans on retiring if he says I am going too retire he'll get 23 mil now if he plans on playing and a doctor says you shouldn't continue blah blah blah he get 126 mil
He didn’t just get 3 concussions, he was twitching on the field! He’s definitely going to regret not retiring. I’m sure he loves the game too much but he needs to think about his 40’s, 50’s mental stability
@@Turtledira there’s a huge difference between taking a slap and taking a hit from a 250+ pound defensive player then having your head bounce off the turf…just saying
I still pitty him. I don’t know what it’s like in the NFL but I was put into this situation in high school. Last season, my junior year of HS, I did a partial tear of my MCL and I was forced out of football for a while but the doctor cleared me after 2 months. I went and did weightlifting where I tore my MCL again cause I had a bad snatch during a meet. My doctor said I should stop playing sports as my MCL was getting weaker. It forced me into a decision of so I stop playing. I chose not to and I started this season, my senior season, and 3 weeks in to fall camp, I took a bad hit to my lower body where I tore my MCL again and I had to have a surgery done to fix it. But 8 weeks later, my doctor cleared me again and I’m right back on the field now. All I’m saying is it’s hard to walk away from the sport you dedicated your life to. I was told over and over again that returning would injury me further but I always thought “I’ll just protect myself” and I am now returning to play against a state champ team as my first game back. Football is a hard sport to just quit. The team work and bonds you make, are hard to just leave behind. I am sure no one would blame this guy for walking away but he still believes he has a career ahead of him and he wants to continue to play. For me it was that I didn’t want to go out like everyone was telling me to. Tua doesn’t wanna leave NFL cause of a concussion. He wants to leave on his own terms.
People, stop saying that Tua should be wearing a "guardian cap". It would not have prevented the compression of his spine or the forward momentum of his brain. The guardian cap was only introduced by the NFL to fight against future lawsuits by players. The NFLs argument in lawsuits will be that protective equipment was available but you chose not to wear it.
This was an excellent discussion of a difficult situation. As a physician, I totally get the risk he runs if he continues to play. And I get why people including former NFL players are advising him to retire. But I also freely admit that I have no understanding of the mindset of a truly elite athlete at the top of his game. He’s one of the 0.001 percent of people who can play quarterback at an elite level in the league. Every major decision we make in life is a calculation of risk vs benefit. Others may have their own strong opinions, but at the end of the day it’s his decision to make. I hope he gets the best information available so his decision is informed. But it’s his decision. I’m not a Dolphins fan but I enjoy football and would respect his decision even if medically I thought it was risky.
It makes absolutely no sense to me why Tua went head first on that play last week especially with his history!?! He had the first down easily and had more than enough time to slide. Completely dumbfounded.
5 years down the road he wins a superbowl, he’s the best Miami has had for five years. Year 6 he’s a 40 year old vegetable in a wheelchair . Or be financially independent enjoying life with your family while you’re still able to
I lost some respect for McDaniel with his “clarification.” He spoke honestly night of, second day was clear the organization and/or its lawyers got in his ear
Tua hasn't taken the Dolphins anywhere, and he isn't so scary good that we should all be begging for his return. They NEVER should've pulled the trigger on a big contract. Cut him loose. Even if he wants to come back, relegate him to 3rd string and let him decide from there to retire.
Normal football people would do this (cut him loose), but look at the freak talking from 7:20... He is constantly on drugs, every time, everywhere, anywhere, but it may be true he stopped alcohol... so no way.
@@bennywilks9367 there's is a lot of QBs that could win with that offense. He's got weapons everywhere. Honestly he might be holding them back. Shit ask TB12 to come out of retirement I bet he wins with that offense. Plus he has ties with the HC.
When football becomes an IDOL, it now becomes a spiritual and moral problem. His family, as well as his own future health, is far more important than ANY NFL game. I feel really bad for the guy, BUT, in my opinion, he should get down. Oh, and Tom Brady lost the most critical ring of his life, his marriage ring, pursuing yet another Superbowl ring. That wasn't a good choice on his part.
Yeah he lied. That’s why we have independent docs watching and evaluating now, so stuff like that doesn’t happen like that any more. At least that’s the hope. If you watch the way his legs wobbled, there’s no way you can blame it on his back.
Guys Tua has too say I have no plans on retiring if he says I am going too retire he'll get 23 mil now if he plans on playing and a doctor says you shouldn't continue blah blah blah he get 126 mil
As much as have loved the Miami Dolphins since 1984, Tua being a good fit for Mike McDaniel's system, I don't know if Tua is making the right decision here. There were a lot of QBs that I remember that retired because of head trauma: Jim McMahon Stan Humphries Matt Schaub Chris Chandler And those are the ones that I can remember, I'm pretty sure there's a lot more. I pray for Tua's safety. Management of the Dolphins should draft another QB just in case.
Lmao, shame him into retirement ? When you're consistently throwing out fencing poses and throwing up gang signs on big hits, I shame isn't really the right word to use
In a few years, if he has serious life-threatening issues, and God forbid, he dies, everyone will say why didn't the NFL stop him and how horrible everyone is to let him keep playing.
They do, the league has final authority on nearly everything, salary cap, staff hires, etc. They can threaten severe penalties against Miami of picks and money to force compliance, basically ruin the franchise.
That’s a tough one. I imagine it would come down to a legal battle between the league’s doctors and the specialists hired by Tua’s hypothetical legal team. But the league would have to be pretty darned sure of winning to try.
There’s a reason Luck went to Stanford and Tua went to Alabama, he should retire and coach or broadcast, still in the sport you love and you don’t risk serious damage
@the_algorithm after the play are you blind......? In real time he shoved him less then a second after he released the ball, if it was late there would have been a penalty.
@@KG_Juicejuice Looked like it should have been a penalty to me. Milano knew the ball was gone. It wasn't THAT bad, but worthy of a flag. It was a little "extra" there. But for Tua to get a concussion on that, it makes me think he had smaller, undiagnosed concussions before that. He OBVIOUSLY should retire before he winds up like Junior Seau.
What people are forgetting is players like junior seau got concussions like this and played on. He probably had over 50 of them because back then you walked it off and got back in the game. They tackled with the head and probably left games with multiple concussions. They didn't get 3 and 4 weeks off after one. They got 3 or 4 minutes
In the end it's between him and his family, but I'm just hoping he doesn't come to regret it ,or god forbid something terrible happens and makes the decision for him. I'm 36 right now and dealing with the effects of several concussions from high school football, soccer and a severe one from a car accident that landed me in hospital for a week. It's no joke and there is always life after sports. Wishing him the absolute best.
200 plus million is hard to walk away from. It kinda makes the health risk worth it for an extremely comfortable life for your family especially when you come from nothing.
Even if he only got $50m..... how is that not enough money to take care of you, your family, and with a little effort and financial advising, establish generational wealth???? Sorry to break the news to everyone.... Tua or not, the dolphins would be lucky to make the playoffs, the sb isn't even on the GPS yet. To be honest, I think it's selfish to comeback, and subjecting your family and loved ones to constant panic moments and possibly be your caretaker in 25yrs or maybe after your next game.... I mean if football is what he loves most, who am I to judge a man for doing what he loves the most until he wasn't able to anymore?🤷♂️ In the words of a wise man with a band, named Steve.... "Go on, take the money and run!! WOO WOOO OHH Go on, take the money and run!"
Football cannot be Tua's primary concern as much as the pundits would like it to be. Tua has a wife and two kids that depend on him and need him as a father and husband. Pretty sure Tua wants to see his kids grow up and be part of their lives. That hopefully is his primary concern.
On similar videos, I've been saying that Tua should retire from the NFL and play in the American Flag Football League (AFFL) because it's still professional football without the risk of concussions. I've also been saying that Tua getting 4+ concussions puts the sport's future at risk because fewer people are playing youth/high school football although youth/high school football participation has been falling since 2000-2010, it still has some people wondering if the sport is safe enough to play even though the NFL is spending millions even billions on safer helmets to prevent concussions.
If he retires after doctors tell him he medically can't play anymore, he gets all of the guaranteed $. If he's cleared to play and still decides to retire, he loses the guaranteed $. They will have to negotiate a settlement. I looked up his contract.
Is the true reason Tua wants to continue playing football for the love of the game or money? If I were to watch myself on film getting these concussions I would seriously reconsider my stance. In my opinion it would be best for the Dolphins to move on from Tua. The offense has a lot of good pieces right now and I would hate to see it go to waste. I think a more athletic and mobile QB would really elevate the offense. Tyler Huntley is not a bad option for now as he brings abilities to the offense that Tua did not have. There is definitely going to be more versatile play options available with Tyler. That being said Dolphins should draft a QB next year.
From a person who use to ride bulls I went through the same situation, but instead of millions of dollars a year I was facing losing 30-50k a year. It was still one of the hardest decisions I ever made to quit. The guy deserves to make his own decision for himself. I got knocked out 5 out of 7 days in the same week and decided I was done. That’s just unsustainable. If he wants to and can sustain then by all means he should continue to play, but even if he can’t it needs to be his decision
Yep. I think I would stay in if I was in the league. So hard to imagine being that close to your ultimate dream and falling short because of fear for your future mental health
Brain damage often manifests years after it happens. Meaning even if he retired today there could be significant consequences, each shot he takes realistically could take a decade off of his life.
I developed trauma dyslexia 5 years later, after only 1 concussion. I never had dyslexia before. It has increased my anxiety exponentially (I work in Accounting). If I had Tua’s money, I’d retire tomorrow.
Tbh his play already left alot to be desired even before that hit, in that game. So who knows, maybe he had already taken hits. I want the best for the guy, and get tjat football is his life, but if football is the thing that is “ruining” his life, then u gotta call it
This man is suicidal! Not to tell a man to quit his career but his life is just about on the line. If he gets another gnarly concussion and god-forbid dies on the field that would be a very avoidable tragedy. And the NFL would regret letting him continue to play because of all the backlash they would get. If I'm in this mans family I'd be begging him to make the safe decision. Last time, the doctor or discovered CTE himself sincerely pleaded to Tua to not continue football.
@@evileyevalaus I'm just being straight up I'm saying this man needs to know when to call it quits or him, his family, his fans, and the NFL itself have a tragedy in the making. I would guess you could care less but I do have a point

@@IncreaseKruIn the NFL, there is a 15-yard penalty will continue to be called if a player lowers his head and makes forcible contact with his helmet against an opponent.
What he did was dangerous. He almost hit Damar Hamlin in the chest. What if he was a few inches to the left, he could have possibly sent Demar into cardiac arrest again. Not a smart player for himself or others.
@@arnaud4588I have to admit you make me see the other side of this with one big if - IF he is smart with the money he makes and really turns it into generation wealth. Invest wisely, support your family that deserves it (doesn’t feel entitled to it), set up a proper trust to ensure it is generational, and follow the lead of so many true NFL stars and give back to the community that supports you. Of course, I feel these rules apply to any sports “star” that wants to be a true role model for what a REAL man is. Or REAL woman in the female sports world. Our kids need to see these people behaving like their skills and abilities don’t make them any more important than a gifted teacher or brilliant scientist - and that money at that level shouldn’t be hoarded, but rather invested in the future of people in some form or another.
I always think of Austin Collie when the subject of football head trauma comes up. I hated the dude when he was in college because he played for BYU and I'm a Utah fan, but there was no denying he was a great receiver and totally fearless. He ended up getting drafted and playing a few years with Peyton Manning on the Colts, and Manning loved him because he was fast, smart, and would go over the middle like a crazy man with no regard for his own safety. And then, in what ended up being the last year of his short pro career, Collie suffered three really bad concussions in a short span--just a few months, I think--including one on a nationally televised game against the Eagles, which I was watching live and rate as the third worst football thing I've ever personally witnessed (Alex Smith's broken leg being the second worst, and Damar Hamlin literally dropping dead on the field being the very worst). The first time I ever heard the term "fencing" in relation to a head injury was when Collie took that huge hit--the kind of hit that wouldn't be legal today--and he wisely made the decision to retire at the end of that season. Unfortunately, he was too late: I know people here in Utah with connections to Austin Collie, and they have told me that he has had some cognitive problems in recent years. Nothing too serious, just short term memory issues, headaches, and the like, but stuff a 40-ish year old guy shouldn't have, and which we know can be signs of CTE and/or general brain damage caused by repeated trauma. Hopefully Collie doesn't get any worse as he ages, but the scary thing about brain injuries is that there's no consistency to it as far as anyone can tell. Some people can get dozens of concussions and have no problems later in life, other people may end up with symptoms despite seemingly suffering fewer concussions (and the "seemingly" qualifier may be the problem), and other people can end up with debilitating CTE in middle age just from the thousands of small shocks the brain takes every time the ball is snapped and the helmets of opposing linemen collide. It seems like Tagovailoa is or has become more susceptible to concussions, which is definitely a thing we know can happen, but what we don't know is whether or not he'll suffer long-term effects because of those concussions, or what those effects might be. I'm sure most people would keep playing football if they knew the worst they'd have is splitting headaches in their 50s or 60s, but would they keep playing if they knew they'd never feel happy after age 45? Or that they wouldn't be able to drive, or remember by the night time what they did that morning? What if they knew they'd have serious symptoms but that they wouldn't hit until age 80, would that be worth it? How about age 70? 60? Would they be willing to risk their personality changing and them becoming violent with the people they love? Maybe even that would be worth it for wealth that would change the lives of generations of your family? I have no answers to any of these questions. But I'm thinking today about Austin Collie and how short his professional football career was.
Inevitably it’s up to him. I think a lot has to do with age. I’m 55 and I was discussing with a friend of mine that I wouldn’t even think of doing half the shit I did in my 20’s. I go on a ladder in aware of danger! In our 20’s we have this sense of immortality that sadly we pay for in our older age. I learned the hard way. I hurt my back in construction when I was young and said blah I’ll be fine. I’ve been out of work and had 9 spine surgeries the past 22 yrs. So would it be wise for him to retire? By all means but put a 26 year old mindset in yourself and think about it… he’s probably and regretfully going back on the field
I agree he's going to regret it and I've been saying that he should go play professional football in the American Flag Football League (AFFL) since the risk of getting a concussion in flag football is 1%
Say it with me. "Prototypical NFL QB size" It matters. Its why guys used to sit for a few years to get into NFL shape. Regardless of draft position usually.. The quest for Marino 2 continues..
Peyton Manning and Tom Brady avoided getting hit as much as possible. For good reason. Even larger QBs eventually suffer if they keep getting hit. Look at Daunte Culpeper. His prime was like only 2-3 seasons long.
Tuas a beast, he holds the best play in Alabama history to this day, I hope he stays in the league, he’ll be like farve but hey if that’s what he wants it’s America no one can make him stop playing and they shouldn’t be able to!
It’s not that easy to give up something you’ve done and loved since you were a kid. At 57, I still get the urge to put them cleats back on. And I only played at the H.S. Level. Can’t imagine how hard it would be to walk away at the nfl level. You would have to roll me off the field on a stretcher.
I hope Dolphins ownership and management steps in to come to a financial agreement with him to retire as the next hit he may not walk away from. His retirement protects everyone's interest: Tua's, the Dolphins and the NFL. Easy, peasey, lemon squeezy
Tua is a grown man and he as far as i know knows the risks wether he fully understands what the concequencea could be i do not know. But i whish him all the best. And hope he does notvhave more concussions in the future because it is reaching a point that the NFL should just step in
@@TurtlediraI'm a Cowboys fan. That man was literally KO'd on the field after taking a hit while throwing a bomb against Arizona. He played in a NFC championship game in which he has absolutely no recollection of playing in that game. Absolute madness.
@@BTx933 and you think the NFL forcing him to retire would be good for optics? It definitely wouldn't be because then your just letting players know that they can be forced to quit at any time just because
Back when I was 26, I would have made the same decision as Tua. You don't have the life experience at that age to appreciate the consequences of your actions. What happens to you when you are 50+ seems like forever into the future. I would have to be seriously hurt to stop playing. Naturally, he will regret it when he gets older but hopefully, he will still have enough money to get the best possible medical care.
No one wants to get that far and have to quit, no one. Can't they design him a 'Great Gazoo' helmet like they did for Mark Kelso back in the 90's? It worked pretty well for Kelso back then. After 30 years you'd think they could make one that is almost fool proof. He's a good quarterback and seems like a pretty nice fella. This comes from a member of the Bills Mafia.
That's what I said why doesn't this kid learn to slide! It's not hard the greatest of all time do it and did it. TB12, ARod, and Peyton Manning all slid. Stop taking unnecessary shots to the head. PERIOD!
I've had 3 big concussion in high school and now I suffer from major depression episodes and bad thoughts all the time everything seemed it would be fine then got into my late 20s and really started to feel the effects looking at it now was never worth it coming back after the second one
Agreed. I don't know exactly how many concussions I'd gotten playing growing up (I think maybe at least 2 🤔, possibly more), I'm glad I didn't keep playing, and in my 30s it makes me wonder if it's a more significant reason as to why my mental health just ain't been that great (of course other factors too, genetics, life events, diet etc)
The concussion-prone QB who is not very mobile with a noodle arm will inevitably suffer another concussion in the next 1 or 2 years. His next concussion (5th) will probably retire him for good . Now I know why Brian Flores did not believe in Tua.
I play beer league with this ultra talented little guy, 5’9” 150lbs fast good hands and great player. He quit playing competitive hockey because of concussions. 7th game of the year, doesn’t pass ever just tries to beat everyone, he tried to go around this big defenseman and the dman just gave him a playful check into the boards, no I’ll intent, just a small check letting him know he isn’t better than everyone. Full yard sale, stick, gloves on the ice, kids unconscious and had to call an EMT they carted him off. It was really scary, but there was no big hit, just a small bang on the boards when his helmet hit it. We found out literally any contact he makes to his head will just knock him out and that’s why he quit playing pro. He loves the game, but doesn’t love himself enough to avoid head contact or just stop all together. Tua should have been fine in that hit, it wasn’t that bad or hard. Tua’s prone to concussions and shouldn’t be playing if even small tackles sideline him for a few weeks, IMO. if it’s about money, I’m sure he could secure a job in the Dolphins organization and negotiate a deal on his contract and retire. $120 million in cap hit, when he won’t play will damage his team and organization. If he cares about his team, he will negotiate and retire. $23 million spent well could benefit his family for 50 years, living a somewhat lavish lifestyle. Let the Dolphins trade for or sign/ draft another QB and use this top offense to get a chance at a Super Bowl, instead of tying up money into someone who may play 10 games a season.
I know Polynesians real well. Tua lived just down the road from me pre NFL and growing up and lived here all my life they are known to not quit in circumstances like these. His whole family rides on this also there’s that element in his decision. I feel bad for the doctors that has to clear him for his return. Hope it turns out good in the long run.
Imagine ur an opposing player, knowing next hit on him, u could be be guy that ends his career, and essentially damages his health and future going fwd, beyond football? I sure wouldn’t wanna be that guy
Sidney "Sid the kid" Crosby with the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins had Multiple concussions throughout his glorious NHL career and is still at it. We are all different and will react differently to injuries, heck ones threshold for pain is quite different. Ive suffered 2 concussions in my life, both sports related and my second one caused me to have the fencing posture that you see Tua going through on that Thursday night. I am now 50 and thankfully ive had no issues. Its ultimately his decision and i would probably give one more go around, ill be selfish this one last time and if it happens again he probably should hang up his cleats because at that point you were already selfish the other times, there comes a time where mom, dad, wife, and kids are saying enough is enough. If he learns to throw the ball away, run OB, or Slide like Marino, Manning, Brady, and Brees did, he could play out his contract with the dolphins and make a decision whether to keep Playing or not. Get back to jiu jitsu, ask your trainer Nick Hicks to get it through your head your not Ben Rothlisberger and should not be lowering your shoulder into football players.
I’m 39 years old, have a history of multiple concussions. The bad news comes recently that I have cte in my brain stem and spreading to the rest of my brain slowly. The specialist said I’ve have over 45 concussions, and feeling it now. Vision issues and migraines are just the start…… personal experience it’s very challenging.
See specialists discuss with your family. If returning must play differently and short leash, any contact where you are down and struggle to get up...retire...that's it.
As someone with Epilepsy, likely brought on from multiple concussions, I understand being a high level athlete and hearing voices around you saying to hang it up. I’ve literally been there in my early twenties. I really hope he’s OK and he’s taking the entire situation into consideration. If he plays, I completely understand. If he hangs it up, I understand that too.
I believe very much that Tua just wanted the convo to be about anything other than how poorly he was playing which is why he went head first into Hamlin.
Bruschi is an amazing human being, a great man. He's smart, thoughtful and truly cares about people. But... probably could have phrased his answer a little different. "It's his choice" was all he needed to say at the end of his story. Declaring support for that decision is different than saying we can't make that decision for him. He could have even said "I can't judge him based on what he decides as I don't have all the information he has" without saying he supports the decision to come back.
There’s a clearly defined set of concussion protocols administered by independent doctors and overseen by the NFL. Once he passes the testing protocol they really have no legal grounds to prevent him from playing. I’m not happy at all to be saying this, but that’s how the rules work at this time. And the truly sad part is that all this independent medical oversight was initiated after the 2022 season because of the “Oh, it was just my back” bs regarding those 2 concussions Tua had just a few days apart.
There’s a report saying Tua can’t retire and collect guarantees in his contract. Retiring, forfeits a large portion of $$. This situation is complicated. If he’s medically deemed he can’t play or the organization doesn’t play him… he gets paid. This story isn’t over. 🙏 to Tua. 🐬⬆️🔥
If i was tua it would be an easy choice. First off Miami is going to pay him weather he plays or not. Second if my life is in danger because of injury , I love my my family more than the game of football or anything that brings me joy. Prayers for Tua and his family may God protect this man for the rest of the way.
He needs to be removed. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. All the concussion protocol bull crap... Just to let a player get fifteen concussions? Nah. Force him to retire.
Look, I am not a religious person but do fear and respect divinity. There are a lot more variables that we don't know about and private to Tua. In the end we must support his choice and pray that he has a long fruitful life to give to his family, freinds and society. He seems like the kind of guy that will give back if God looks after him.
So after watching this, I feel compelled to say something! As a former football player, & someone who just loves the game!!! So a few years after my senior year in high school, the head coach who coached me for 4 years highered me as an assistant coach! I was then diagnosed with a brain tumor!!! I can completely understand Tua's situation! And as someone who has had to go through multiple brain operations, it is probably the1thing that don't want to mess with! I hate to say it, but he should probably retire, because after you've had a concussion it is much easier to have more!!!
If it's up to Tua, he will play. He will get concussed again, and when he does the NFL will have to tell him he's done. Someone has to force him or some day he will lose a significant portion of his cognitive ability like Ali and the NFL will get sued.
Thoughtful analysis as always. I hope Tua makes the decision that is right for him. I think everyone wishes him the best, of course. Nice work on this one, Mike.

At this point Tua knows he has scrambled eggs coming to his future, I have no pitty for him the longer he stays in.

Sounds like complete BS from you, TBH

He should use his THINKING cap while he still has one.

Tua would be the first to seize up on a flag football field
dude has a 167 mil injury settlement, he gets it all if he retires due to injury. its a simple choice if you ask me.

If he retires after doctors tell him he medically can't play anymore, he gets all of the guaranteed $. If he's cleared to play and still decides to retire, he loses the guaranteed $. They will have to negotiate a settlement. I looked up his contract.
That was a bad move by Tua. Never put your head down when going into a player and contacting

This man is suicidal! Not to tell a man to quit his career but his life is just about on the line. smh, my guy was throwing gang signs.
I remember collie. Seemed like Peyton threw him a few hospital balls😢

That's what I said why doesn't this kid learn to slide! It's not hard the greatest of all time do it and did it. TB12, ARod, and Peyton Manning all slid. Stop taking unnecessary shots to the head. PERIOD!
Blaming the injury on his back…. The back of his head that is.
As someone who still sufferers from post concussion symptoms, please stop tua
I've had 3 big concussion in high school and now I suffer from major depression episodes and bad thoughts all the time everything seemed it would be fine then got into my late 20s and really started to feel the effects looking at it now was never worth it coming back after the second one
Same, I had about 4 in my football Career and one bad one after and my mind isn't the same. Depression, aphasia. I really want him to call it quits.

I would say he'd get a severe concussion once every 3 to 4 games.
So much hate man. Why?
He should wear one of those new helmet covers
Spiderman came in and gave him that everybody gets one talk..he's dealing with venom now.
If i was tua i would keep playing and ignore the haters and play football so good
I know Polynesians real well. Tua lived just down the road from me pre NFL and growing up and lived here all my life they are known to not quit in circumstances like these. His whole family rides on this also there’s that element in his decision. I feel bad for the doctors that has to clear him for his return. Hope it turns out good in the long run.
Bro he needs to retire
Many good GB’s have flaws. No QB is perfect. Some flaws are worse than others, unfortunately, Tuas flaw is not protecting himself from head injuries.
Can’t wait for you to hit 1 mil subs. Much deserved 🎉
I pray for times like these
As someone with Epilepsy, likely brought on from multiple concussions, I understand being a high level athlete and hearing voices around you saying to hang it up. I’ve literally been there in my early twenties. I really hope he’s OK and he’s taking the entire situation into consideration. If he plays, I completely understand. If he hangs it up, I understand that too.
Damn it’s gunna be sad if something permanent ends up happening to him
1:52 guys
I don’t wanna see him end up like Junior Sean. Polynesians are proud people. & human. The body can only do so much.
It’s going to 🫢 him up in the future. Concussions are not a joke @ all.
Happy too see you hit 1 million. Been here a long time. Didn’t mean to disrespect you on your Tom Brady video.
Doctors working on behalf of the NFL/The Dolphins could get sued big time if they clear Tua to play again and he suffers more injuries.
If Tua gets injured again then The dolphins should get a qb in the draft and develop him with Tyler Huntley
