I received my first order from Vieve yesterday and that made me remember I needed to clean my make up brushes and I remember from one of Jamie’s old vlogs from maybe last year or the year before and now I’ve woken up to this 😂✨ However, I did not double cleanse, so back to the kitchen sink I go (with my civ) 🧼
I’m just wondering why she chose light coloured hair on the brushes? Being a makeup artist myself I prefer darker shades brushes as they don’t look so dirty as quickly I was trained in Bobbi brown and Mac brands and most brushes were always dark Coloured hair back then. ..bar some exceptions. I also do prefer real hair brushes. It is cheaper for companies to use synthetic hair …however back then quality brushes were made of real hair or a blend. Only brushes used for cream products were synthetic. The 117 brush is similar to the Tom Ford and Charlotte tilbury foundation face brush. I’m just not a fan of white brushes and I’m unsure why she chose this colour We used to use baby shampoo when I worked at Mac. But I always found you needed to use the brush a little bit first before you got a proper grip on the hair as they were too soft and fluffy to after being freshly washed …abit like your hair is very soft and fly away once first washed You need abit of product and natural skin oils on the brush to get a bit more grip when swirling it over the product. Overall aesthetically these brushes look nice but I guess trying them will be the only way to see how they perform Often the smudge brushes. Equivalent to the 219 in Mac are too soft these days and the need the hair to feel more couldn’t and solid to get a good blend and smudge Same with crease blenders. Too soft and not enough resistance in them means you don’t get the best blend.
Regardless of where we see Jamie, we always learn something new from her! Thank you!!
