Thank you very much for this beautifull song. I'm praying for the members of Tenabrae choir, that they may enjoy as a personnal reality what they express in this song. And for everyone who listen to this video. This is the true gospel!
🙌🙌 My all-male ensemble has been learning this song lately, ahead of the Easter season, and it really has been a time of great meditation and deeper understanding of the piece of scripture so beautifully set to music. We pray for an eternal impact.
This might seem very weird but I listen to your awesome choir while I got my wisdom teeth pulled and it was like a dream. No gas or IV, just a sedative. Can't remember anything except angelic voices and telling the dentist I loved them lol
Gorgeous! In a previous life, when I was a church organist, this was one of my favourite choices for accompanying Communion. So many parishioners did not even know the piece existed.
We sang Stainer’s The Crucifixion yearly at St George’s Anglican Church as I was growing up. God so Loved the World left it’s mark on me as a teen. I pray that my entire family will hear and understand, and kneel in awe and gratitude before the Cross of Jesus🙏🏻
This piece always reminds me of my father, as he sang it in his school choir in the 1950s, and often told me it was his favourite piece of choral music. I like it too.
I feel blessed that I was able to see this group in Seattle a few years ago inside a spectacular cathedral there, St James, I wish they would come back, it was really something special
It's been so long since I've heard Tenebrae in person, but this will do until the next time. Such beautiful sound, and such beautiful lyrics, such beautiful music.
Sublime, sung with such sensitively, thank you. It’s hard to beat Stainer’s setting of John 3:16, the heart of the gospel. Our church youth group used to take the tube to Baker Street every Good Friday evening to hear the Crucifixion sung in Marylebone Church, where Stainer had been organist.
I sang this with two or three different choirs when I was young, starting with the Sr. Choir at the First Baptist (Am) Church in Arcata, California. Today’s Gospel passage reminded me of the song, and I’m so glad to find this beautiful performance. I don’t believe in Biblical inerrancy, but I do believe that beautiful music can move us toward goodness and kindness.
Good day здравствуйте спасибо вам большое за музыкальное видео очень красивая песня мне очень понравилось мне нравится вашы песни вы очень красиво поёте всего вам самого доброго хорошего и благополучия thanks very much goodbye my friend
Right up there with the Lutkin Benediction on my short list of religious choral faves, though this one would likely never be permitted in public school like the Lutkin Benediction.
So many questions? How does Nigel find, choose and blend these angelic voices? How does each member control the velocity of their individual voice to blend perfectly at parts yet at certain parts project the vocal but still blend. I could go on and on. Everything about TTC fascinates me 😁😁 Amazing work as always 👏👏👏👏
Just discovered this video: what a beautiful sound, and the first-rate recording brings out the best of the sound and vision. I t also exposes a slight problem for me: you have chosen to step lightly on the terminal consonants, so we get "God so love the whirl". I wonder how you feel about this? As a bass fan of yours, I must commend the Great Bass sound: thanks, chaps!
Extraordinary sound quality and poise. But in the climax ("everlasting life") ..too many breathes making it segmented. Here, seek a moment of unprecedented extended focus. This will identify, better, the peak in the work.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes.

YES AMEN!!! THIS IS TRUE GOSPEL!!!

I hope that you are all well after the COVID-19 isolation. The music you have done lost nothing you are all excellent as ever thank you.
I got mine pulled in the Army and then spat blood singing Jody calls on a 5 mile ruck march. Blessed are ye, boyo.
Im just relaxing and letting this wash over me after a long.its beautiful 😍

"Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call on him while he may be found. Isaiah 55:6 KJV
This is so beautiful that I find myself in tears at times.
Because the Words are from the Word of God: the Bible. The greatest verse in the entire Bible?
Same, it is ridiculously beautiful ♥😢🌎✝☦⛪
They have mastered the pianissimo! Any choir can sing harmony at full volume, but it takes experts to do it very softly.

There is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents - Luke 15:10.

The choir in my church sang this song on Good Friday, today, in 2023 so I searched on UA-cam and found this video. Bravo!

Utterly breathtaking. Perfection--I wept.
It's been so long since I've heard Tenebrae in person, but this will do until the next time. Such beautiful sound, and such beautiful lyrics, such beautiful music.
GOD's Agnus Dei for our sins. Nothing is more beautiful than this song hopefully reaching the Heavens. Thank you Tenebrae Choir. 🌷🌷🌷 (The Netherlands)
Goosebumps!

I missed hearing a relly good choir so much i'm lying in bed and cry in bliss and having goosebump showers for minutes now. Thank you so much
The world’s very best ensemble. It’s up there with the London Symphony.
The harmonies and pitch of the is choir is fabulous. Thanks for making this beautiful song even more beautiful
Magnífico, esplêndido!
Uma dádiva dada pelo próprio criador, que pela suas vozes, coloca a alma numa prece através do canto.
Fascinante e belo o seu comentário. Que Deus o abençoe grandemente!
Thank you for your angelic songs. These songs are of unfathomable beauty. Thanks again and hello from France.

A beautiful performance of this neglected composer's work. We hope to hear the CBSO perform his Requiem in 2022.
Heritage at its very best. And a team with so much musical depth in sync. Life really can't get better.
So beautiful. I listen to it over and over
Awesome in its simplicity. Thank you for sharing this! God bless you in your work and may the name of Jesus be glorified in it.
I have sung this with my choir. I love it so much. You have performed it beautifully.
Magnifique , Merci .
Simply exquisite.
Incredible! This made me cry...Again! and the fact that this is live, with no processing or alternate takes to mix in is unbelievable.
Holy God, this's precious
I love you guys ... sending love from California....
Thank you for this beautiful blessing... and also for the Tallis.

Grace Davidson sounding sublime as usual
John 3:16 is the heartstrings of the entire Bible. It spells it all.
Breathtaking. Divine. No wonder the regimes of the West don't play music like this on the radio...
Glorious.

I recognize some of these singers from the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral. Well done 👍

Not a big fan of Mr. Jesus, but I love his music and these cats are best game around. 👍
Trust us, @Francis James, He cares for you too, more than you could ever imagine. (As described in the book of Matthew, chapter 4, verses 25-34.) ❤
@@anng.4542 it's a lovely thought, but not one I put a lot of stake in. Thank you and have a great day

Not a soul on earth could love us as did our Savior Jesus Christ. This song, drawn from the Bible is the Truth!
🤩👏👏👏
Beautiful but short piece that sums up the Christian faith ,well it does for me .

The basses!!!
Heavenly music. But the question remains.....Does God love the world?
Yes, the answer is in the lyrics.

Is grace a part of tenebrae?
Extraordinary sound quality and poise. But in the climax ("everlasting life") ..too many breathes making it segmented. Here, seek a moment of unprecedented extended focus. This will identify, better, the peak in the work.
With distanc! 🙈
Ethereal...
Too much soprano in the mix even though she has a lovely voice.
