The problem of high idle and air leak in Volvo V50 / Ford / Mazda / Suzuki which has the same engine. The problem was a matter of a torn PCV valve hose.
This was more useful than searching forums for hours. My V50 has same kind of problems, so I'm gonna check these and hope for best. Thanks for information!
You are welcomed my friend. You can try by using brake cleaner spray, try to apply it behind or between the manifold and see if the idling changing 😉 Good luck 🤞
@@pioneeruniversalchannelpuc4695 all sorted now was a pipe on manifold removed manifold saw cracked pipe new pipe new gaskets/seals on manifold and perfect now thanks 🙏
Thank you for good pictures and explanation. Was it hard to get intake and EGR off? I have the opposite issue with idle rpm and also starting issues sometimes. Idle rpm fluctuates when braking in to a stop and then smooths out. To diagnose it might be a good idea to smoke test the intake for leaks/breaks in hooses and stuff. Vacuum system etc.. Any hints or/and tips for me and my issues?
Thank you so much! If you have an issue during breaking, maybe you can have a look about the break servo i.e the membrane in big black round thing behind the head break cylinder. You can just press the break hardly and hold when is idling on slowly and see if there is a remarkable change in idling. Also you can examine the pipe going from break servo to the engine. You can use a break clean spray to detect any change in idling. Check also if you have a dirty idling sensor. however it is easy to clean the EGR in this car by using dw40 or stuff like this.
@@pioneeruniversalchannelpuc4695 thank you! I will continue do some testing. But I've seen more people here on youtube with same issue and they say it's common and normal on this engine/car
@@pioneeruniversalchannelpuc4695 did some small fixing with my car today. Checked the throttle body and cleaned it. Already was super clean since the last time I cleaned it. Also checked air filter.. quite dirty. Black round spot were the hole in the bottom of the box are.. and also crankcase ventilation filter was a little bit of oily on the bottom. The blue filter.
