Steve Blum, he's pretty known for voicing Tank Dempsey in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies series (one of the few gems of COD throughout the years). When I saw him go from Dempsey to Sub Zero, I about lost my shit since I'm a huge fan of both Black Ops Zombies and MK. He also voices Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop, one of the best and one of the most iconic anime in existence.

Fun fact: In the new timeline after mk9, they aren't actually rivals, since Edenia was never freed and Tanya never worked with Shinnok to betray the Edenians and wasn't working for him in mkx (still a treacherous snake tho, cos of mkx ending).
Huh no kidding. I just assumed they still were because one of Tanya's kombat cards in MKX was her holding Jades head.
That being said, pretty much all of Tanya's dialogues have everyone dismiss her as openly treacherous.
That being said, that is a pretty interesting parallel to have drawn between D'Vorah and Tanya like that. They are shockingly similar.

Kano betrayed him and tried to kill him, which made him a greater enemy as Kotal always regarded Shao Kahn as an enemy.

Think it's crazy how Scorpion and the elder Sub Zero, the revenant Noob's story has reversed now after 27 years... Lol their roles are exactly reversed from what they were in the first game.
I wish more fighting games would have lore like this and these intro dialogues, this is exactly what fighting games need to become mainstream
@@meloo I agree. No fighting game series that has ever been made has even come close to having the storylines, lore, open ended creativity, fan service and fan involvement that Mortal Kombat has had. Blaze, Ermac, and Scarlett were all created from, and most of the storylines have been molded by fans.
On a side note, I know my icon picture is me cosplaying as the poster girl for the most depthless fighting game series ever...

@@redryder7521 Every fighting game series has their own unique characters, whether we like them or not. Though I think Mortal Kombat is more detailed with stories and the cast. Not many other games can compare. I like your cosplay, by the way.
@@YellowJeff94 I'm a total fighting game fanatic. I think maybe because of all the arcade games I played when I was a little kid. All fighting games have different value to their storylines and depth, but that doesn't necessarily make or break it though. I just have to be able to care about the character that I pick, whether he or she has a sprawling backstory such as those on Street Fighter, or they're just here to cut down the opponent in front of them so they can survive, such as those on Samurai Showdown.

And Raiden keep in mind is also insanely old himself, LK is Earthrealm's and probably of all the realms best fighter besides his power. Cetrion beat Jacqui but that's not saying much so did Ermac, Liu Kang and a few others lol
