Collage is known to most people.... but do you know what a decollage is?
Wieder einmal beginne ich meinen Arbeitsprozess mit einer Anfangsidee - ich schneide rechteckige Collageelemente aus einer Zeitschrift aus und klebe sie leicht überlappend und flächendeckend auf einen Keilrahmen. Was zunächst nur ein besonderer Untergrund werden sollte, entwickelt sich im Prozess zu einer Decollage mit erstaunlichen Effekten...
Once again I start my working process with an initial idea - I cut out rectangular collage elements from a magazine and glue them slightly overlapping and covering the surface on a stretcher frame. What at first was supposed to be just a special background, develops in the process into a decollage with amazing effects...
Don't know how I missed this one! Love it when a piece simply chooses which way it wants to go. Brilliant work!

No coincidences 😂. I have been experimenting with water color the past 2 years and due to space conciderations have not used acrylics with large canvasses. Nor have I been a regular "Gerda watcher" during that time. I have done collage for nearly 50 years. Last week I pulled out a canvas, acrylics, photo images and scissors and did a collage/acrylic piece. What a treat this morning to see you doing the same! 💚

Liebe Gerda, ich bin auch Künstlerin und habe auch einen Kanal hier. Diese decollagetechnik ist mir mal aus Zufall passiert. Ich habe mit Kleister gearbeitet und dieser hat sich im Prozess des Malens gelöst. Dann habe ich die Ecken, die lose waren, einfach abgerissen. Das Ergebnis war unerwartet interessant☺️ danke sehr für diese Inspiration!!! 🙏
