I trust Coach O in hiring, but I wanted to know more about Coach L, so I came to the Underground King and, of course, you did not disappoint. Excited to see what Coach L does with the passing game next season.. Very excited to see what my man, Myles Brennan is going to do with all these weapons! Only concern I really have at the moment is the O-line... Time will tell
Just saw this linked from an LSU site and had to check it out, and yes, I watched to the end. I was in marching band at LSU - loved football - but never understood the strategy and tactics behind it and how plays are built and developed. Your explanations and your videos are opening my eyes and I'm now going back and watching replays of the 2019 season with a new understanding of the game. This changes EVERYTHING for me! Thanks much!
I've been tellin' people that this is a phenomenal hire by Coach 'O'. Linehan brings some serious juice to the position. The ONLY problem is going to be keeping him. We're going to be good this comin' year and anybody that thinks we're takin' a huge step backwards hasn't been payin' attention....
People don’t realize that Linehan and Payton run the same offense and part of the reason Reggie Bush went to Detroit was his familiarity with the playbook under Linehan. Hence the Joe Brady/Scott Linehan connection.
Amazing breakdown, a lot of fools on this app have no idea what's going on. Amazing work my dude. BTW. Oline for all the doubters will be just fine. James is an amazing Oline Coach ! #GeauxTigers and #TopBillin
Scott and Myles have a lot to work with, including Chase as a do everything guy that can blow the top off on any play, Marshall as a strong and physical receiver, particularly after the catch, and a really good 50/50 guy, McMath as a slot guy who already has Brennan’s trust, along with guys like the main 3 running backs, Emery as a shifty guy who can convert to power if needed and TDP and Curry as power guys with enough shiftiness, Palmer and Boutte as guys who the defense has to respect their speed, and Gilbert who can be an instant impact guy and has the potential to be a Gronk-type (not flashy speed but definitely for his size has enough speed and has the potential to be a top “two way tight end” who affects the run game as a blocker and the pass game from all tight end and receiver spots). I also think Devonta Lee stays at receiver for now and gets a little more PT than last season because Chase and Marshall have a good shot of going early to the league because they’re freaking animals at receiver, and McMath is an upcoming senior so it’ll be smart to develop receivers to see early who could be that third guy, and I think Lee (and Jaray Jenkinis) will be given increased opportunities to prove it (and of course, Koy Moore could be that too and, being LSU, some really good grad transfer or special freshman could step in that spot as well).
I am an LSU student who started watching your videos before the season and has watched every single one since the Spring Game. You helped me inform my friends and as someone who loves Chalk talk I really have gone full fledged into your videos. Keep doing your thing, and I just wanted to put in i think Brennan will come out slinging and become "The Blonde Bomber". Real men watch to the end, so what more can say!
Good stuff as always, bro. Linehan is a great hire for LSU. He will be able to bring new ideas and new wrinkles to add on to LSU’s already explosive spread offense.
I watched til the end cause I'm trying to understand football more. I'm a huge LSU fan and it looks like the 2 young backs will get a lot more touches especially in the pass. I hope they're able to run the ball with such a prolific looking passing game. Nice to see LSU start utilizing RB screens. Going to be another exciting season for the tigers
Lol. Joe earned that “Jugular” title from me, though, as it was descriptive of his playing style...We’ll see if I do one for Myles...It’ll come to me, though.
Top Billin' Brennan the butcher as he will butcher up opposing defenses. Great channel man. You are the best underground analyst on here. I love this channel.
Set 'em straight Murf! I'm a LSU fan and I watch to the end before commenting..... Ha! Ha! I agree with you, I think that the addition of Scott with the 'Ol Gun Slinger in the booth will be a great fit. It would be a kick to see you break down some of 'Ol Ensmingers' plays when he was the Tigers QB back in the old'en days! You could call it "Old time throwback of LSU football" ..... He and I are the same age!
The middle screen was genius. He ran it from what initially looked like an arrow route. He's definitely a spread cat and a great choice for LSU. Love to see quick game used as run....Nice break down.
I’m watching this after chase has left but, but I leave confident in what lsu can do with some of there sophomores and freshman this year. There’s really no telling what will happen. Love these videos! Keeping optimistic 🤞🏼
Hey hey hey man don’t throw all of us LSU fans in the same boat, because I watched till the end bro. Lol! Great video thanks for the info on our new passing game coordinator.👍🏻
Great video man People don’t realize we’re not changing the offense Linehan will only help enhance the offense. Coach O did his due diligence I think LSU will do good
Thanks TB for explaining this hire in a different light..listening to these other guys youd think SL never called a pass before....now im excited as an LSU fan we can continue to attack with Brenen...he s not burrow but i think lsu s offence will still be a strength if they can get the o line to gel quickly....thanks
Ryan McGraw what did Oklahoma decide to do with the defense? Are they hung a different route as far as DC? I think y’all a bunch of talent coming back on D.
Great breakdown. Thanks for posting this. I've seen too many LSU fans complaining about this 'underwhelming' hire and how they 'trust Oeaux, but are going to take a wait and see approach'. They mistakenly believe that Linehan is bringing a Les Miles philosophy to the team because he's not some young hotshot assistant. Well, as you said, the spread and route trees associated with it are not new either, but this video proves Linehan knows his shit and can be creative with it. As if that weren't enough, he was also Stafford's OC the year he threw for 5,ooo yards. So where yet, Tiger fans? Does this change your mind at all about Linehan?
#REALMENTOTHEEND People do jump the gun and assume guilt by association. Everyone trying to be coaches. Wow loved this whole episode. I clicked the like. That play with Calvin Johnson in the slot. I can see that working with Brennan zipping the ball to Chase!. Well I just watched this to the end and graduated from LSU. Film and numbers don't lie and thanks for 1) explaining exactly what a spread formation looks like and how it opens up opportunities in space, 2) using two TEs (Gilbert & co.) and three WR, or RBs for different assignments, and 3) bringing to light the parallels between LSU's spread formation, personnel assignments and development @QB vs. Detroit, where Scott did actually control plays. Everyone saying Scott only knows running the ball. After watching this -- How stupid were these naysayers? He did what he was told in Dallas. Looking forward to "pushing the ball down the field." I've learned to tune out because I get the truth here. I heard Coach Orgeron also mention that Scott would be an asset because he is a great teacher, is a fit with Ensminger and has expertise in 3rd down red zone conversions or TDs. You made it clear why Coach O went after Scott. Because LSU has the personnel to execute spread plays that Scott can help teach. Makes sense.LSU already doing this stuff. So sure need a great teacher for the new guys. Can't wait to see Chase. Marshall, Palmer, McMath, Gilbert and Emery Jr. and co. taking advantage in making space and tooling LBs and safeties with high level skill and speed. Have to get Emery blocking better. He just had lasik surgery on his bad eye. I see why Edwards-Helaire was so dangerous! Like learning these concepts like tendency breaking, plus splits, skip to my lu, pistol formation, the angle route. Thanks!
Once again great content Murf. I definitely see the similarities between his philosophy and the current LSU roster with the 11 personnel look. Also this LSU fan definitely watches more than 35 seconds homie. Lol. 👍🏾 #GeauxTigers
What up Murf, great content like always. Your videos are really teaching someone like me who grew up on that power offense and great defense learn the concepts and what a soft ass spread offense is trying to do. You have said the Big 12 has the best offensive minds in college football, it seems like the SEC is trying to get there. With the Hacker, Kiffin, Leach and the defensive minded coaches going out bringing NFL offensive minds in. How far away is the SEC from getting on the level of the Big 12 in that regards. #RealMenWatchToTheEnd #RealFootballHead
Great video bro! I keep telling one my boys that this going to work with LSU personnel he keep saying he don't think so because of egos might clash with Esminger and Linehan...Smh
As an alumni I have always said LSU has a football team that are mostly very talented athletes who happen to play football. And to quote Orgeron, "we coming."
I think you are right about the Dallas Cowboys. It seemed like Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett wanted to revert back to Woody Hayes football and overruled everything Scott Linehan wanted to do. You might remember that Woody Hayes' comment about passing was, "there are three things that can happen and two of them are bad." I know Ezekiel Elliott is a kick-behind running back, but the Cowboys did not use him right. Honestly, I wonder why Scott Linehan stuck around in Dallas as long as he did. There are dozens of teams that could have used him a lot better than Dallas did. They could have resurrected Tom Landry from the grave and he would have used Scott Linehan better than what we saw from Jason Garrett with Dallas.
👍🏻 Linehan has a lot to offer... O has made another good hire.... When will the people that say they believe in him, believe in him. I believe, and I suspect that Linehan is another 1 year guy... Coach E will soak up this knowledge and we'll get someone else, next year... I think O will keep evolving because he knows the formula is not to to live on your laurels and stay pat... Defenses will have a year to study. Last year's offense has to be last year's offense, being dynamic and constantly finding new ways to get your play makers in to space is as important as recruiting the new play makers.
What about Rams? What about the Vikings? On the surface it all looks similar, but it doesn’t seem to have the amount of reads, and adjustments as 2019 LSU. Plus, a ton of his players have complained about not making adjustments or audibles. I love this channel and have shown it to soooo many of my friends! Real men watch to the end for sure! Keep up the awesome work!
Hey Murph, it’s been said that Meyer might want to get Linehan for his OC. How do you think he’d mesh with Trevor Lawrence in a pass happy offense? If I’m super misinformed I apologize. I’m gonna leave this comment on both of your Linehan vids.
In short this style of football is to basketball what the isolation and and man spacing is as well... run plays that get top players the ball with space to create against favorites matchups
Murf, again, Im uneducated on another coach in Scott Linehan. So, thank you for this video (and I didn't know what a "plus" split was til now - only familiar with lineman splits). The short game (edit: didn't) look "Sean Payton good" in my opinion, but it'll probably kill at the college-level. Throwing the ball that damn much - games swing hard (Clem-WVU is a good example). How is this offense by Scott this going to coincide with Bo Pelini's style?
Marco Polo - You said “Doesn’t” which denotes a present time statement...Also, please stay on Clemson content, bro. You are super loose with the negativity on other team’s content, as this is plainly one. Why is Sean Payton even being mentioned at all?
Not sure playing "under" is the proper verbiage. He'll be alongside Coach Ensminger, the primary play-caller, and will be the chief designer of the passing attack.
Better put Goodwin, Evans, Jones, and White in the 4 WIDE receiver spread. IM NOT IN IT….. I’m just always thinking STRATEGY: I can be offensive when I’m FORCED TO BUT LOVE DEFENSIVE STRATEGY because I like to STAND IN THE BACKGROUND.
Esminger is still over the offense at the end of the day so who knows what type of relationship they will have and how much input will the new passing coordinator have. It’s more to it than X’s and O’s last year team and staff chemistry will be unmatched!!
Top Billin' ok thanks . I didn’t know if he ran same type of offense during his time in Miami. Thanks I always enjoy watching your knowledge of the game
I’m a big LSU fan but also a big Cowboys fan. Not nearly as excited as you. He is better than Cowboys fans give him credit for. He can develop young QBs.
Hoping for the best but having players admit to changing up plays/routes on the fly because his offense was so predictable to defenses doesn’t bode well. We’ll see pretty quick if 3rd down and red zone offense takes a huge dive.
He’s shown good and bad for sure. Hopefully it was the Dallas cloud of doom that got him. Not like anyone has been overly successful any time recent in Dallas.
We are going to be good on the O-line. Ingram, Thomas, Hines, Bradford, Deculus, Rosenthal, Wire, Perry, plus Dumervil, Martinez and Hill comin in. We are solid.
If you use Cowboy clips use Romo. Not that Dak isn’t great but Dak was a 4th rounder not pro ready. Linehan actually developed Dak the right way and his last season stats show that.
Not using anything that isn’t under the context of what I said in the video. Jason Garrett was the head coach of Dallas, he’s an offensive mind so anyone with any type of sense knows he had influence over that offense. Jim Schwartz at Detroit let him do his thing. And Stafford was a young QB, too, under Schwartz.
Formations and sets are on the agenda. You can bet he will have studied what LSU did well this past season and implement some of it, though. But I have much more coming on the subject.
It's "To The End," as in the end of the video. Watching til the end makes it seem like your life is ending and you will still be watching haha! #Salute #RealMenWatchToTheEnd
I've easily found a fix to counteract all the other b.s. that is said about college football on UA-cam.... ONLY watch ya boy Murph!! It's that easy! Lol #whatmorecanisay TOP BILLIN'!
If only they could have fired Les Miles years ago, LSU would have 3-4 Natty’s. But I love how you pointed out that Coach O went and hired a Offensive minded guy to run his offense and hired a defensive minded guy to run his defense. I told with idiot Bama fan the other day, don’t get caught sleeping with what Coach O is going to do with this program. If Linehan can get MB to put some touch on his passes, they will score 40 a game and put fear in the SEC.
The dumbest and most annoying thing I've heard since Linehan's hire is that LSU is going back to 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Coach O from the very beginning said he was going spread and if you look at 2018-19 there was alot of spread elements in the offense but they didn't know how to do it all the way correct, that's where Joe Brady came in. He helped them being the team to 100% spread and how to work it. Now replace Brady with Linehan, who had been a spread coach and qb and with the knowledge Linehan brings. If LSU's offense isn't successful I don't think it will be from lack of great coaching
You Tube is becoming so unwatchable. 3 minutes of commercials before you can begin a video then after 1 minute of viewing 3 to 5 more minutes of commercials. WTF is up with you tube commercials?
Only lames would complain about free shit. It's free to you but takes up the time of content creators; you should be happy that someone is providing something of value to it and a company found a way to compensate them for their time and efforts. Fuck outta here.
I have no clue what that even means, moron. Why do you guys not at least try to buy some sex so you can not look so lame on the internet? I'm covering football, as it's my livelihood and profession, these are not my teams. Virgin ass.
I trust Coach O in hiring, but I wanted to know more about Coach L, so I came to the Underground King and, of course, you did not disappoint. Excited to see LSUs evolution continue!! Love that coach O is aggressive. We have the athletes so we should push issue!!
It’s crazy what can happen in a year. Last year no one wanted this position and now we get an ex-nfl HC.
jperello001 I mean we had Cam Cameron (Baltimore Raven’s old OC) a few years back and he sucked lol. NFL isn’t the word I pay attention to, “ex” is.
I always watch your stuff till the end. Love all the break downs. Keep up the great work. 👍🏻

@@TopBillinSports because I've watched the Lions play during his coaching tenure.
Marco Polo - You said “Doesn’t” which denotes a present time statement...Also, please stay on Clemson content, bro. You are super loose with the negativity on other team’s content, as this is plainly one. Why is Sean Payton even being mentioned at all?
@@TopBillinSports you right bro.... well, at least I got TWO English lessons outta this. I wouldn't have gotten those on Clemson content lol.
Marco Polo - lololol
You the truth bro!
#RealMenWatchToTheEnd thanks for the content
#RealMenWatchTilTheEnd love this video thanks
Another awesome video...go tigers🐯
So Murf. So in the end, how do you force the LSU offense changing in 2020, if at all, from the Brady/Burrow 2019 version?
And I agree, Linehan will be playing under the play calling OC and Oregeron's commitment to the spread is probably unshakable.
Not sure playing "under" is the proper verbiage. He'll be alongside Coach Ensminger, the primary play-caller, and will be the chief designer of the passing attack.
@@TopBillinSports its like they don't realize why the man was hired smh
You’re right about me listening to other “analysts.” They don’t know the technical aspects of football. You know it. Big difference.
Hope you get more film study on linehan. Do you have any from his time at Miami?
?? I don’t understand the question. This is in relation to LSU, so the team that most resembles what LSU did, under Linehan, is Detroit.
Hey murf, any chance you pick up Michigan film studies again?
Hoping for the best but having players admit to changing up plays/routes on the fly because his offense was so predictable to defenses doesn’t bode well. We’ll see pretty quick if 3rd down and red zone offense takes a huge dive.
And these players were for which team? Were they from Detroit where he had total command of the offense?
Dallas...said depending on the set defense knew exactly what the play call was. Plenty of stuff on UA-cam referencing players comments.
He’s shown good and bad for sure. Hopefully it was the Dallas cloud of doom that got him. Not like anyone has been overly successful any time recent in Dallas.
Could put something together on the LSU OL, maybe after Spring ball. They seem more problematic than the skill players. Thanks.
Murf really knows his shit! A lot to learn from this channel including proper grammar!
HAHA! That's most underrated part of the channel: grammar usage!!
Ja'Marr could feast in the slot. The offense is staying elite
Really enjoy the channel. #realmenwatchtilltheend
Oh Johnson’s disrespect on Patrick Peterson in the very first play of an LSU-relevant film study😩
Hey Murf does Linehan run any bunch sets? I remember LSU ran a lot out of that formation.
Formations and sets are on the agenda. You can bet he will have studied what LSU did well this past season and implement some of it, though. But I have much more coming on the subject.
Great explanations.Murf.
No body could operate
At the Cowboys without interference from Jerry Jinxing them.
Romo had some of his best years with Scott
Vertical passing game guy for sure..
drknockboots22 - Watch the content, man.
I'm a fan of Scott pre Dallas.. I think Garrett held him back in Dallas. Should be fun season
You know your shit bro
Its over for LSU
goof ball

It's "To The End," as in the end of the video. Watching til the end makes it seem like your life is ending and you will still be watching haha! #Salute #RealMenWatchToTheEnd
Top Billin' Lol Gotcha Bro 💯🤙🏽
I've easily found a fix to counteract all the other b.s. that is said about college football on UA-cam.... ONLY watch ya boy Murph!! It's that easy! Lol #whatmorecanisay TOP BILLIN'!
Cocky ... cracked me up.
Sound like u talking bout rj young
Who? I’m talking about Scott Linehan on this content.

Top Billin an LSU fan or something?
Are you lonely or something? I’m working here, so go back to whatever it is you were doing with that vaseline you bought.
@@TopBillinSports Lmao! 29-0
I have no clue what that even means, moron. Why do you guys not at least try to buy some sex so you can not look so lame on the internet? I'm covering football, as it's my livelihood and profession, these are not my teams. Virgin ass.
