Uncle Sal was so tactful and constructive with his criticism. Everything he said when rejecting a dress was gentle and helpful. He was also very hands-on and involved with the appointment. A lot of people in other entourages should really be taking notes.

When I got married in 1985, I was a "full figured" woman. I would never be able to afford a expensive gown. I actually went to JC PENNY, and bought a beautiful gown from their catalog for about $200. I loved it. They had several to choose from in larger sizes. 😊

Why? The consultants cannot pick a sample gown for them to try. Their being plus size means that they also have to look for different silhouettes. And don't forget that this whole season of SYTTD was entitled "Big Bliss" so it is kind of the point.
Look. I am also larger than sample size. And I am also busty. Acknowledging it does not say anything about me as a person. It actually helps get the style of dress that will flatter my figure most. Isn't that the main point anyway?

Petite is all about height AND proportions. Arm and leg lengths are shorter. Bust to waist to hips ratio is proportioned shorter. I’m 5’1” and wear about a size 12. Same dress (or pants, or jackets/ coats, etc.) in a REGULAR size vs in a PETITE size will swallow me up. Waist will be too long. Pants legs won’t break at the correct spot (not to mention, they’re going to be too long). For a ski jacket, I have to get an L or an XL size (to fit my hips), but the sleeves literally swallow my arms.

“Petite” is supposed to mean smaller in all dimensions, in normal proportions. “Short” is supposed to mean small height but normal or wider width. Saying “plus-size petite” makes no sense. I know some people use petite to mean short because they think it somehow sounds better, but then that leaves actual petite women and men being called “child-size,” which to me sounds worse than “short.” (Pet-peeve rant over, sorry, have a good day) These dresses are gorgeous!

If she loves him despite the teeth, good for her. People shouldn’t be so judgmental about someone’s looks… I was getting controlling groom from him, though. He dumped her until her realized he ‘couldn’t do better’ and then took her back and needs to be involved in every decision she makes.

@@danielledenis5160 For me too. She can do way better. A woman should never wait 5 to 10 years, even for a prince. She waited 5 years for a frog with a missing tooth. Besides which, when discussing the dress he stated he wanted to see what he was getting. I could have told him in no uncertain terms, he was getting something far better than what he deserved!

Teeth are way more expensive than a wedding dress in the USA. I'm epileptic. Insurance doesn't cover dental and insurance for dentistry is outrageous. When I have a grand mal seizure, I typically fall on my face and have broken multiple teeth. The emergency room will happily dig them out of my cheeks, tongue and gums, but they absolutely will not remove the part left behind. It averages $2500 per broken tooth to have them removed. It is surgery. There are many people like myself that have to deal with half wits, like yourself, that enjoy belittling others because of things they cannot control. Or afford.

This episode is really old. Over 10 years. The industry was different then, and styles changed. When this episode was filmed, these styles were popular. Bridal changes a lot every year - much more than regular fashion.
Episodes like with Lancashire are at least 8-10 years later than these. The styles that Lancashire had are the ones that Kleinfeld had. Brands like Essence of Australia weren't popular when these episodes filmed. They are now.
