You're a rock star for getting these on AND making a video. I don't like doing headers (or any exhaust stuff for that matter). That plenum is going to be a fun one. When i had a 997 Turbo I did my own IPD plenum upgrade. Tough- and that was even when you didn't have to take the bumper off. Excited to see your video. Great work!
Great video! I can definitely do this mod myself...and maybe the plenum 😆 I hope these are street legal in California. Checking on that. Tune after plenum!👍
Other than him not having the right tools, failing to take safety precautions, being too unknowledgeable to simply loosen the braces and exhaust clamps to properly remove the headers, and then installing the header bolts the wrong way... it was a great video.
Yes I did this before the plan on this was the first major job I did. I would recommend starting here it’s very straightforward and helped me get familiar with the engine. Be very careful with the bolts. It’s an aluminum block and they strip easily.
Your videos are great! I'm gonna do the IPD Plenum and the Fabspeed headers to my 2013 911 C4S Convertible. At the time of this video, had you done any other performance modes or was it just the headers?
Also you don’t have deep sockets?!? Wtf man. You probably are in over your head. You should stop, get the right tool, and then continue. Deep 13mm sockets ain’t hard to come by.
Shore Tell lol. Dude, I’m in over my head. Let’s be clear. My socket collection is in a draw, loose. I spend more time looking for them then using them. It’s amazing the stuff I work on actually works afterward.
When you pushed the sports exhaust button - whoa!! It does sound quite a bit like a GT3. Some days I want all that sound, and some days I think it would just sound wrong on my C4S. I think it's really the mix of your PSE and the headers that make it sound so good. Is there any drone at 70 on the highway?
Snap Happy Photography zero drone. A tech at fabspeed recommended this combination and it has turned out to be amazing. If the exhaust is closed it’s stock quiet. If it’s open it’s a snarling beast under load and a nice rumble at speed. Down shift and oh my it’s amazing. I’m so thrilled with this set up. Thanks for the comment.
Wow! Super dangerous and stupid instructions to the unknowledgeable. You have your rear wheels on ramps and the front wheels have no stops. My fellow racer killer himself doing this. Please - tell people to put stops on the front wheels or put the whole damn car up on stands. You could kill someone without this. Otherwise -good video!
Allan Kozich yes, snap-on makes thin walled sockets with a u joint adapter. Probably other brands also. The problem was my cheep tools. Use a torque wrench. They strip easy. Aluminum...
Is there any drone or bassy sound when the pse is on? I have pse on my 3.8 S and thinking of changing the stock cats with FVD 200 cell HJS cats. My aim is to get more pronounced sound from the exhaust without ruining sound characteristics of the PSE + more torque at low/mid. Powerband.
There is zero drone. it just sounds throaty and awesome when under load. And pops and crackles when downshifting. And when PSEis off all of it goes away. It just sounds quiet and tame. This is one of my single favorite upgrades I am so grateful the tech at Fabspeed recommended the cats and the headers only. Accomplished accomplished exactly what I was looking for. A more serious sound when you want it and nothing when you don’t.
Cliff Martin louder I’m sure. I was really going for normal sound closed and more of a rumble open I do not like the other brands or kits that are just plain loud.
Great job!! I have a 99 - 911 - and i want to change the exhaust system -- you think fabtech is the way to go? i know there's Armytrix and AWE also -- Let me know -- Mahalos, Bubba!
Thanks for getting back to me my friend. I've contacted fabspeed and soul trying to these headers and neither company have them in stock. The tunes are available from fabspeed, soul and sharkworks, all between $1,100 and $1500. Can you actually feel more power just from the tune? You had said that it feels "snappier". As far as my 991 goes, the only exhaust mod I have is a sharkworks center muffler bypass with the same fabspeed tips that you have.
@@markbudreau1410 I think the tune made the biggest difference. It just has more power. Fabspeed wrote the tune twice. After the first tune I sent them a few recorded pulls and the tweaked it out to get a bit more mid throttle power. I’m very happy. Great service.
@@bobbygfl I am so glad you told me this. I am going to do the tune next, I was weary that I wouldn't actually notice more power just with the tune . Thanks so much for the input, the headers look great BTW. Did you buy the Cobb unit separately, or did it come with the $1500 tune?
@@markbudreau1410 I bought the Cobb tune devise which came with the Cobb tune. That tune made no noticeable difference. Fabspeed uses the Cobb tuner devise to do their tune. It’s a neat process. You make your mods and do data runs of third gear pulls. Basically rolling slow then stomp it to red line in third gear. This records on the tuner which you send to fabspeed. I have a stick. The pdk tunes are even more impressive because they mess with the shift points to give you even more power.
YOLOfotos i would need the external diameter (circumference is also fine) of the catalytic converter, as long as i’m planning to swap the catalysts on stock headers. Thank you so much for your time
Nicholson Liman this kit does throw the light. Fabspeed has positioned the sensors so there is no problem. If you do have a problem they sell an extension mount for the sensor the will fix the problem. Nothing needs to be done to the computer.

Cam Hughes thank you! I must admit the plenum install is a bit intimidating.
very knowledgeable. I hope to learn this stuff soon on my 13' 4s
Thanks!!
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to share your installation - we know recording and installing isn't easy - especially on your own!
Does the enngine check light come on due to the header install?
@@shahalam96 if your car is tuned... say Cobb Accessport, then no!
Fabspeed Motorsport is this street legal in California for emissions?

How many labor hours did this take?
3 maybe. But I work slow.
It's always a good idea to add anti-seize to the o2 sensor threads. Great install!!
Arin B. Thanks!
Did you do this before the Plennum? I have a 991.1 Targa and am considering one of (maybe both?). Where do you feel the best place to start is?
Yes I did this before the plan on this was the first major job I did. I would recommend starting here it’s very straightforward and helped me get familiar with the engine. Be very careful with the bolts. It’s an aluminum block and they strip easily.
I dont even know what a header is
Well thanks for watching anyway and I appreciate the comment!
Good video.
Thanks!

I'm going with the same header on my 991.1 GTS. Has Fabspeed addressed the bolt access on the passenger side? Did you bring this to their attention?

definitely headers (cat delete) is better than doing only the muffler with valves delete
Thanks!

Rumrunr Jones ha! Right. Any thing that doesn’t break is just an added bonus and nice surprise. Thanks for the comment. Appreciate it!!
Great video! Just found your channel and subscribed

My Carrera 4S has the sport exhaust system would the fab speed set up work on mine?
Sami Bentroudi yes. Same as mine.
2018 Christmas list: 3/8" drive deep sockets, 1/2" drive sockets, 1/2" drive breaker bar. Good video.

Do you know the diameter of the stock catalytic converters?
