The reason that The Hobbit was so much more colorful and cartoony is because JRR Tolkien wrote the hobbit as a children's story, thats why it was kind of goofy and there wasn't as much crazy shit like in lord of the rings where someone gets shot in the gut with a few arrows and continues to fight like the bad mother fucker that Sean Bean is. Its a children's story so he had to make it as such. It also didn't help that Peter Jackson added scenes and characters that weren't in the original book for comic relief. Like when Legolas captured Gloin and made the comment about Gimli being a goblin mutant.
All the "evidence" woody mentions is from a people article in which they interview the disgraced da who is mad the documentary made him look bad. You can't say that they are capable of planting evidence but that the other evidence is for some reason real even though the show clearly addressed all the things woody said they did not.
In case anyone is curious about Miantie, it is a UA-cam series that is a mixture of a MC let's play and a MC role play. The stream team is Jericho, Syndicate, Firefoxx, Captain Sparklez, and Waglington. There is also Dec, Champwan, some members of FyreUK, and members of Blockworks. During a season, they stream an episode everyday (which is two hours) and uplaod the video later. They animate interesting parts of the stream (normally Sparklez uploads it though).

Depending on the type of animation, it can take a month for a short video. A hand drawn animation, frame by frame, or even tweened, takes a long time. A decent quality photo can take 8 hours to make. Imagine 30 photos per second. South Park has models with an animation team, not just one guy, so the comparison is poor. However I do agree that the situation could have been handled with something like a tweet. A tweet would be directed to the more committed fans, while having a direct link.
When I was a kid I put beetles, hummingsbirds, butterflies and other insects in a jar and let them fight an army of ants. It was amazing to look how the ants killed pretty much any insect I put in there.
