You ask all the questions nobody thought needed answering, but once asked, well now we need to know of course. Have you tried cranking sport mode up to max speed on Air 3S yet? You will need a tailwind to reach it, the extra 1° of tilt only creates potential for 97.2 KPH, DJI says it requires a 6 m/s tailwind.
@@BlairAir I’ve had over 90kmh on CE mode without trying so shouldn’t be too hard but I’ll certainly be giving it a go when it’s next windy (shouldn’t be long!)
Some say testing an Avata 2 and an Avata piggy back spawned the first Neo... The one without the battery goes on the bottom though. Neat test, fun video
So wouldn't those objects block the gps signals? GPS requires line of sight. And I presume the antenna is located in the central body on the upper surface. Not sure how well it was reporting position via sats during your test. But the vertical especially is more prone to jumps with bad signals. Just a possible explanation for the Neo dropping like that (or a contributing factor). You've got some great videos. I've been enjoying them. Looking forward to flying my Neo upon my return from my business trip.
@@OnlineLuc thats quite possible to be a reason for the drift in my first attempt but regarding altitude control I believe at low altitudes this is done using bottom sensors and then only at higher altitudes solely with GPS.

I think for this shot it was just done with auto settings as the footage wasn’t important to the experiment but normally I would shoot close to 1/60s shutter, 30fps, auto iso, max iso 400 or 800
Sorry I meant „max iso“ at 800. iso control set to auto and ev to -0.3 or -0.7. aiming to have auto iso hitting 100-200 most of the time. Alternatively fix auto to 100 or 200 but then you don’t get HDR video.
For HDR the drone has to be in some form of auto settings so like I suggested frame rate of 30fps, shutter speed 1/60, iso set to auto and ev set to -0.3 or -0.7.
A few times I took off without checking the number of satellites, then had it update the home point while it was in the air, oops. I also noticed you do a manual takeoff in several videos, so I decided to go find out how it is done as I was curious.
From these tests I believe an avata 2 can pick up and bring back a lost neo from an inaccessible place. Hope to see you go fishing a neo with an avata 2.
I really wish they'd make a bigger battery for it. Not in size, but in capacity. Sure it'd be heavier, but I think this video shows the drone could easily handle another 20 grams or so of battery (twice the current basically)
@@riffraff-ss3du in my experience dji motors tend to have exceptional lifetime unless they get accidental damage. If treated well, they will probably last as long as the rest of the drone
