I was so excited to sing my stationery song again! It's been such a long time. Here we pick up some bits and bobs for secondary school. I wondered did we miss anything out? After this video we labelled everything and she managed to get all the felts in the pencil case. Let me know what we need! Have a lovely day xxx
From about Erin’s age I’ve always had a pouch with period related items in my bag. It’s a must have because you never know when you or a friend will get caught off guard x
A stationery haul, mother and daughter and singing. What s treat. Good luck to both the kids at school this year. I've not gotten on the zebra pen train but I plan to try them soon. Thanks for sharing as it's always interesting to see what you get in the UK as it's different from Canada. Have a great week.
😂😂😂😂 the look Erin gives when you sing, must be the look that every tween/teen girl gives to their mum when they are embarrassed of them…my girls do the same to me!!! 🤣🙈x
I found a waterproof rain coat that lives in the bottom of the school bag works for us. Also won’t need felt pens in school but are a must for homework especially art. Also good to get some good quality paper lined, plain and sketching. We got a sketch book from the works. Also plastic folders not the flimsy wallets are a must. My son just going into year 8 has 3. One for homework, one for his timetable and password info and one for any work related handouts/info to bring home that’s not online. Hope that helps. 😘 xxxxx
I know when I was at secondary school in year 7 8 9 we needed felt tips and crayons for geography (I didn't take any and first geography lesson was colour coding countries) and we definitely needed coats, I walked to school and sitting in a soaking wet, freezing blazer all day is no fun at all but we had lockers to keep them in during the day. If you had to carry it around with you that would be really annoying
Well done Erin! I used to love the back to school stationary haul as a kid. Who am I kidding? I browsed the back to school section at Target this year and I bought stuff. 🤣😂
Art pencils usually are needed they have a good set in home bargains or individually on Amazon. Also don't forget small pouch for feminine hygiene just In case I did that for my daughter when starting high school, it just sat in her bag for a while but she was prepared, I also got a go Henry bank card for emergencies Good luck Erin .
this made my laugh! i used to be like that at the beginning of secondary.. and by christmas all i’d have left was a blunt pencil and a half done pen 🤣 good luck Erin have a ball
I'm a teacher and I still get excited each September and buy all new stuff like I'm at school 😂 I finally got round to buying Zebra pens as I found the pink and green ones (for marking) and you're right, they're a DREAM! 😍
Absolute dream! Love love love stationery 🤩😍🤩. My kids have all just finished ssecondary school - but felt tips are ok ....I'd keep them in the lovely case they came in and keep the pencil cases for the every day, every lesson bits 🥰
When I was in high school, we also had a dress code blazer. I would leave my blazer in my locker at school, and wear my coat traveling back and forth to school. I know New York is often colder than England, but you will want a coatcome winter!
I’d keep all her fancy pens at home for homework projects and send the basics to school as she won’t need them. Our school day only the Casio calculator, there’s a lovely pink version on Amazon, keep the other one at home for back up for home work if she leaves the Casio at school
Omg..Erin is so grown up. Such a beautiful young lady. And I have to confess I sang the song as well. lol.....I hope Erin and Ethan both have a lovely year!
I have a boy who started high school last year. Bought lots of lovely stationary & he lost his pencil case in the first week (followed by his shoes & multiple items of his PE kit) 😭 As the year went on, he shoves a pen in his blazer pocket. Oh to have a girl who loves stationary as much as me! Xx
My girls always used Jansport book bags ( rucksacks ) here in America when they were in school. They were quite durable, especially the ones with added suede leather on the bottom..
My daughters school wants them to have coats, but they have to fit over the blazer. So I go a couple sizes up. She will also need a clear pencil case for when she does teats and exams. Also love stationary!
When I was at school I wore a coat over my blazer when it was really cold or raining, definitely get a bigger size that normal so it fits comfortably over the blazer and also check if the school as any policy about the coat style or colour as my school only let us have certain colours (black or navy)
Love stationary! When I was in secondary school, we didn't use felt tips, just pencil crayons. And I recommend getting a plain clear pencil case, as that's all they let you take into exam halls with you! Good luck at the new school Erin!😁
Hi Emma and Erin I bought my children the whole shabang when they was at secondary school they never used felts or colouring pencils at school we had them home if they needed them for homework they never used a calculator or maths set until much later years mine also never took coats they would just have their blazer and they might take a hoodie with them but I’d say let Erin take with her what she wants she will soon see what she is using and what’s she is not great video really enjoyed it good luck at high school Erin x
It might not be the same now, but when I was in secondary, we were allowed to wear coats outside of the actual school building, but as soon as we entered the school we had to remove it and only wear our blazers!
Coloured pencils but not felt tips , I would also change the calculator for a Casio calculator you can get one on Amazon for £12 but in my opinion they are the best
Book covers from Ryman stationary shop. They are easier than the sticky roll stuff. And I wouldn't take all the pens half of them will be missing by half term after kids ask to borrow them.X
Ooooh I loved school supplies shopping and the stationery was always the best. Erin, I love your aesthetic water bottle and sorry you had to hear mum sing and tell repeat stories. My own mom is now 86 and she still repeats stories from my brother and I in middle school lol. Just hug your mum bc you love her and Emma hug your sweet girl who is growing up too quickly. I’ve been watching for a long time and remember the hard days of bracing for Erin and back troubles for mum. You are the perfect mother/daughter duo. I love all the colored pens and pencil case. Which Jansport backpack did you get and Emma good job on finding the desired and needed items at reasonable prices. It’s pronounced jan like the name Janet and then south. They are very popular bc they last so well here in the United States. I think they have a lifetime warranty. Also tear out pages in notebooks with wider spirals like she picked are easier to manage. Good picks on all. Makes me want to refresh my own stationary supplies!
I sing the stationary song whenever I see any in the shop 😂😂 Erin will get more embarrassed as the years go on when you sing it but never stop!!! I live for it 🙌 😁
I had a pencil case like that pink one when I was in yr 7. I got post it notes and slipped the last couple of them into the card slots so I could write on them inside the case and just peel off the sticky note.
My daughter is yr 7 going up to yr 8. She has a pack a mac for her bag for ‘wet weather’ but yeah no coat just blazer. She doesn’t take felt tips or colouring pencils but has to take multiple highlighters/ball points (they do a thing at their school where different work is written in pink/green and black - don’t ask me why?) and she got a planner which needs signing. It’s got notes from teachers, her timetable, any homework and positive/negatives). PE kit goes in a separate bag as does aprons etc. some days when I drop her off she looks like she’s leaving home!!!
Lip balm , deodorant, perfume, pads, paracetamol, plasters, earphones, And here's a tip if people keep asking for your pens just say no bc pens aren't cheap Also funny thing I use zebra black pens
I do love a good stationary haul love it just as much as you and yeyyyyy your song is back xxxxxxx you so make me laugh and cheer me up you are my pick me up
We weren't allowed to wear coats with our blazer 😔 so used to wear a zip up hoodie unzipped under my blazer. If the teachers caught you though you were in trouble.
Coat is essential in bad weather the blazers get ruined when wet and make them freezing. Some schools dont allow coats indoors and they have to be taken off before entering the building. Absolutely rubbish. Not a thing you’d have to do in adult like or out of school! Also don’t take all the pens in case they get lost or sadly stolen. Some people might be interested in having a few . It happens a lot . Also they can get lost when going from one place to the next . Nice to have a few nice ones for homework and other activities at home too. 😊✏️💕
I have 3 girls…23,16&14 so one still in high school and none of them would wear a coat no matter how cold it was because they have to carry it around with them all day! I remember wearing a coat but it didn’t matter what I said to them my girls wouldn’t/won’t wear one!! 🙄🙈x
Aw what a lovely video were you a bit emotional 🥹 doing that I felt emotional for you my baby went to high school last year ❤️ bless her heart what a lovely girl
She may need a red pen for underlining and a fountain pen and fountain pen corrector. Mine take 2 pencil cases one with colouring pencils and felt tips to keep in locker or bag as you don’t always need them then a small one with fountain pen and pens and pencils in for every class
I love stationary and I remember buying everything for school but all I needed was a backpack, a pencil case full of black pens and highlighters (as people like to borrow and not give back) and a notebook for each subject. 🤣 Tbh I think of pencils, felts and colouring pens as primary school and she may get a bit bullied if she bought them, plus your backpack is full of text books and arch lever folders that the less excess she carries the better x
I’m a teacher and lots of my kids have jazzy pens! It’s always a good way to win a poster making competition in lessons! But agree perhaps you’ll get more use out of colouring pens and felts at home.
I was so excited to get my sons pencil case and all the stationery! But all he is allowed is black, green & purple pen, pencil, rubber, sharpener, ruler. In a small pencil case 😭 so boring!!!!
Hi Emma & Erin, my 2 older boys (y9 & y10 😱)need coloured pencils, different coloured black blue purple & green pens ( zebra obviously), calculator, maths set and bag. No coats allowed inside so my boys only have a light coat that can easily go into bag during day but loads don’t wear one at all. I love getting my boys ready. Wilko have some cool stationary stuff too x
My youngest is going into secondary school. All three didn't need felt tips or coloured pencils just pens, pencils, rubber, pencil sharpener, ruler and highlighters
@@brummymummyof2 all we get is on the website with the uniform it includes a bag that can fit a A4 file in. A pencil case with a black pen, a green pen, yellow highlighter, pencils, rubber, pencil sharpener and a ruler. Colouring pencils are optional as they are available in classrooms they are used. I send my girls with extra pens and pencils, they take there own colouring pencils. Pencil cases down to get used after the 1st few months as they learn it's easier to put pens in blazer pockets instead of going into their bags every lesson and searching for pens. The pencil case gets used for spares then in their 2nd year the spares get left in the bags and pencil cases are not used at all!
@@brummymummyof2 Our school gave us a list in a welcome pack they send out to all new students. That was very helpful. Also my daughter tends to lose a lot of stationary and so Im having to restock her throughout the year. She didnt need any felt tips. Xx
My daughter who is entering year 9 refuses to wear a coat even in deep winter lol she says a shirt, jumper and blazer is enough, she will wear a scarf and take a brolly, but a coat is a firm no lol my son's school doesn't wear blazers, their uniform (secondary) is a sweatshirt and Polo shirt, talk about comfy and relaxed lol so he will take a coat 👍🏼 but don't be surprised if Erin doesn't want to wear a coat if she has a blazer too xx Yes my daughter used all her stationery she took full kit of everything and used everything lol they colour in in geography and science etc not just art xx
Lovely seeing you both, well done Erin! I recently started a new job and one of the first things I thought when getting the job was, 'ooh I get to buy a new load of stationary!' xxx
This video is so lovey. I love me a bit of stationery too! A trip to W H Smiths was always the best bit of back to school prep ! Good luck in High School Erin x
My daughter is going in to year 8. I’d get a coat at October half term.. waterproof but light weight so it’ll fit over her blazer but also in her locker. Mine used an umbrella.
Definitely get Erin a coat, she will need it in the wet and cold months as the blazer will not keep her warm. Has she got double sided sticky plastic or book covers? A slim folder and polly pockets, just in case she has any homework that is not in her subject books. I don’t remember my eldest nor myself using felt tip pens. However I do remember loving the freedom to write in smelly gel pens. Do you have a separate bag for her PE kit?
You two are adorable together! I also love stationery, especially Paperchase. A new shop has just opened up in Lakeside shopping centre which is kind of near me and I can’t wait to go and look at all the notebooks which is my weakness!
Hi Emma! Coming from a high school maths teacher she will need a casio fx 85gtx calculator. The one she has isn't too bad but will struggle with some calculations! So much easier if she has the casio and will last her for years. Her maths teacher will thank you for it!
My granddaughter started high school her calculate that the school said she had to have was £25 it's ridiculous Erin is such a lovely girl I hope she is enjoying school 🤗💞
One off my favourite videos u make getting school ready ❤️ girl after my own heart I used 2 pencil cases. ✏️ my son starting big school next few days big hugs to u x
Hi Emma hope you and your family are well,I normally get casio calculators ( Scientific calculator) I guess the one you got will be fine ,I rarely saw anyone with that type of calculator. Tip : for secondary school when u get to gcses and that useing black pens are better as when they scan in exam papers black pen will be visible. Also maybe for the first couple of years at secondary school you might need felt tips/ colouring pencils but it might be different now in this decade of new yr7s so I guess bring them just in case. Have a good day:)
I think Erin only really needs a couple of pens and pencils, rubber, sharpener, ruler and calculator. The felts, highlighters and other bits will probably get ‘borrowed’ and not given back. She’ll get the feel of things in a couple of months and it means she won’t have to lug it all around, as she will also have text books to carry.
I work in a secondary school. She will need a coat! Blazers just make you colder the kids say😂 more pens and pencils, there’s always someone who will ask if she has a spare and the kind soul she is will let them keep it. Even a variety’s of colour ones? You can write in black or blue at my school but need a green one for self marking. Maybe even a highlighter if she doesn’t want to take all her beautiful felt tips? Her bag will be big enough too. Think about it she doesn’t bring books home so she will just need her pencils and lunch and girly bits. Only time she may need a bigger bag is for PE or food tech. Trust me, some girls at my school are condense queens when it comes to stashing everything into the smallest bag 😂 the main thing the girls at my school have though is there little make up bag, I say make up but it basically has a lip balm/lip gloss, body mist (classrooms get smelly will lots of teens) sanitiser, tissues, bobbles and clips as well as lady products. Have the best time little lady!! Xx
With the colour pens / colouring pencils I would take for art lessons maybe. Please don’t take the maths set to school, just take the ruler and the half circle thing (can’t spell this morning). Just take 2/3 pencils, rubber, 2/3 pens, ruler and a highlighter etc. Please get Erin the rose gold zebra pens as they are easy to write with etc. Home bargains had 3 x Elmers glue sticks for 49p.
Just a thought, we were only allowed to use black pens at secondary school and only black pens were allowed for exams, so maybe get some zebra black pens too? Also maybe for stuff like the calculator try and discreetly put Erin's name on it somewhere cos if not it may be mixed up/picked up by someone else by accident. We didn't use felt tips at secondary school, but who knows what it's like nowadays! Also agree with another comment I saw about getting some red and green pens, we were often self marking some of our work in red or green or making side notes in them colours. Loved the haul, you two are lovely 😊
Morning Emma and Erin! Loved the song! Can't believe you're off to high school already Erin. My daughters off to high school too. Goodluck in September, hope you have a fab time xx
I was so excited to sing my stationery song again! It's been such a long time. Here we pick up some bits and bobs for secondary school. I wondered did we miss anything out? After this video we labelled everything and she managed to get all the felts in the pencil case. Let me know what we need! Have a lovely day xxx
You and Emma are so gorgeous and funny together 😍😍 I'm passionate for stationery too 💚
My daughter used to take a little make up bag with , Sanitary towels, plasters, tablets and wipes it came in very handy x
I more or less carry exactly this in my handbag, I also have bobbles, safety pins, and a pen in it. It's come in handy regularly
We did this for my daughter too x
From about Erin’s age I’ve always had a pouch with period related items in my bag. It’s a must have because you never know when you or a friend will get caught off guard x
Fab idea!!
This is a brilliant idea, my daughter also needed a red and green biro for peer marking.
Used to love buying new stationary for school every year, only reason I looked forward to going back to school!
We need more Erin videos!
And I’ve got a bone to pick with you,how come I’m not mentioned in your list of favourite things!!!!!!
The stationery shopping for back to school was always my favorite time of year 😊💞😊🤣🙌🏼
A stationery haul, mother and daughter and singing. What s treat. Good luck to both the kids at school this year. I've not gotten on the zebra pen train but I plan to try them soon. Thanks for sharing as it's always interesting to see what you get in the UK as it's different from Canada. Have a great week.

emma i fricking love you, you are going to be the best mum for a teenage daughter. The embarrassing songs are excellent!!!
Well done Erin! I used to love the back to school stationary haul as a kid. Who am I kidding? I browsed the back to school section at Target this year and I bought stuff. 🤣😂
HAAAAA
For this time of year, my kids have a thin waterproof jacket to go over their blazer and fits easily in their bag!
Good tip!
Doing exactly this next week, and let me tell you, I am Thrilled to go stationary shopping
Have the best time!
Art pencils usually are needed they have a good set in home bargains or individually on Amazon. Also don't forget small pouch for feminine hygiene just In case I did that for my daughter when starting high school, it just sat in her bag for a while but she was prepared, I also got a go Henry bank card for emergencies
Good luck Erin .
this made my laugh! i used to be like that at the beginning of secondary.. and by christmas all i’d have left was a blunt pencil and a half done pen 🤣 good luck Erin have a ball
Ha ha ha!!
Who doesn’t love stationery! Lovely to see the joy on your face filming with Erin. She really is beautiful x
I love you 2 together, and what a lovely, confident ypung lady your girl is growing up to be xx
Thank you!
I'm a teacher and I still get excited each September and buy all new stuff like I'm at school 😂 I finally got round to buying Zebra pens as I found the pink and green ones (for marking) and you're right, they're a DREAM! 😍
So smooth!

It's Erin's sarcastic clap for me!
Zebra pens are 100% the best. I was over the moon to find all sorts of pretty designs of them on amazon!
I still remember going to WH Smith with my mum to do my pre-year 7 stationary haul 🥰. Loved this! You’ve got such a wonderful daughter xx
I used to take felt tip pens on days I had like a lesson I'd need them ... e.g art, geographical etc
You guys need a trip to the Netherlands next summer to go to Hema. It's a great place to shop for stationery, and relatively cheap.
Omg..Erin is so grown up. Such a beautiful young lady. And I have to confess I sang the song as well. lol.....I hope Erin and Ethan both have a lovely year!

I didn’t have a coat at secondary school when we had a blazer. I used to have a body warmer with a hood xxxxx
**I am a very warm person and get agitated if I am too hot. My friends however did take a coat.
Filling up new pencil cases and packing the school bag was the best! Good luck at high school Erin, you’re going to do great! 💕
THE BEST!
Adorable. What a beautiful girly she is. Loved seeing Mumma and daughter doing a 'stationary haul!' ( yes I am singing it 🎶). X
I absolutely love Erin’s style! 🤙🏻
she’s a natural at the UA-cam !
Erin looks so grown up, beautiful. Love this video as always. Good luck to Erin in her new adventure xx
Thanks love!
Maybe create an emergency pouch- sanitary towels, pants, socks, plasters, hand sanitizer, £5, etc (just in case!) X
Love stationary! When I was in secondary school, we didn't use felt tips, just pencil crayons. And I recommend getting a plain clear pencil case, as that's all they let you take into exam halls with you! Good luck at the new school Erin!😁
Oh yes! I forgot about the plain one. I think I have one!

My children had to have an apron for cookery and woodwork etc. Also a PE kit bag.
Erin is so lovely and she is beautiful
My cousin's just wear pac a mac/ rain coat over blazer
My youngest is going into secondary school. All three didn't need felt tips or coloured pencils just pens, pencils, rubber, pencil sharpener, ruler and highlighters
We had NO list! It’s so annoying!
Xx
My daughter who is entering year 9 refuses to wear a coat even in deep winter lol she says a shirt, jumper and blazer is enough, she will wear a scarf and take a brolly, but a coat is a firm no lol my son's school doesn't wear blazers, their uniform (secondary) is a sweatshirt and Polo shirt, talk about comfy and relaxed lol so he will take a coat 👍🏼 but don't be surprised if Erin doesn't want to wear a coat if she has a blazer too xx
Yes my daughter used all her stationery she took full kit of everything and used everything lol they colour in in geography and science etc not just art xx
Lovely seeing you both, well done Erin! I recently started a new job and one of the first things I thought when getting the job was, 'ooh I get to buy a new load of stationary!' xxx
The perks!!
This video is so lovey. I love me a bit of stationery too! A trip to W H Smiths was always the best bit of back to school prep ! Good luck in High School Erin x
It's the best part!
Hi Emma I think it may only be black pens they use. I could be wrong though.
Erin is a gorgeous girl. My girls had Jansport bags - they are really strong and last well. Enjoy your new school Erin xxx
❤
My daughter is going in to year 8. I’d get a coat at October half term.. waterproof but light weight so it’ll fit over her blazer but also in her locker. Mine used an umbrella.
So many people saying umbrella over coat!
I’m a teacher and I really need to go stationary shopping now 😂
Ha ha!
Love the relationship you two have 🥰
Thank you!
Sounds amazing!!!
Hi Emma! Coming from a high school maths teacher she will need a casio fx 85gtx calculator. The one she has isn't too bad but will struggle with some calculations! So much easier if she has the casio and will last her for years. Her maths teacher will thank you for it!
Fab thanks lovely x
My granddaughter started high school her calculate that the school said she had to have was £25 it's ridiculous Erin is such a lovely girl I hope she is enjoying school 🤗💞
She’s have a lovely time x
One off my favourite videos u make getting school ready ❤️ girl after my own heart I used 2 pencil cases. ✏️ my son starting big school next few days big hugs to u x
❤❤
I've been singing the stationery song all morning since watching! 😂xx
HA 🤣
Hi Emma hope you and your family are well,I normally get casio calculators ( Scientific calculator) I guess the one you got will be fine ,I rarely saw anyone with that type of calculator.
Tip : for secondary school when u get to gcses and that useing black pens are better as when they scan in exam papers black pen will be visible.
Also maybe for the first couple of years at secondary school you might need felt tips/ colouring pencils but it might be different now in this decade of new yr7s so I guess bring them just in case.
Have a good day:)
Have a fab day!
I learnt this lesson far too late during high school. Ended up never lending out my favourite things as I just had so many not returned.
I love all your stationary hauls.
Thank you!
Ah your Cbeebies inspired stationery song! Been a while, Em. I love stationery. It's the best x
It feels like it’s been years!
Is the stationary song a remix of let it be me from Let’s Play?! 🤣
i would check erin is allowed blue pens my sons secondary school only allowed them to use black pens
that water bottle is my aesthetic as well haha ✨
Eek
I have bought nothing yet for Addison. Having a small panic attack.
We were told a4 lined paper too xx
There's still time! x
My daughter aged 14, said tipex, green pen, revision cards.
Fab ideas!
Emma you need the title of "Queen of back to school videos UK"
Morning Emma, your singing talents are off the scale, somebody needs to give you a singing contract !!!! Maybe a duet with Gary B ? xxxxx
