NAB 2024 Vodcast Behind The Scenes Look At AI Production Tools

Welcome to a behind-the-scenes look at the AI technologies utilized in creating NAB podcasts in spring 2024 for Duke University’s Digital Media Community. The primary goals in using AI were to expedite the production process and enhance artistic capabilities.
For music, I experimented with Suno to create a "Vegas schmaltzy" music bed, although it required some regeneration for perfection. Writing the script was streamlined by using a browser plugin called Harpa, which provides immediate, reliable summaries directly from web pages, saving significant time.
For voice-overs, Eleven Labs was used, trained with 30 minutes of the my voice, though it sometimes mispronounced words. Additionally, for an emotionally charged intro, Speakatoo was employed to generate voice-overs with added emotion. There were challenges with AI misinterpretations and model limitations, particularly in generating graphics and handling text in logos. Nevertheless, tools like Photoshop's AI engine were helpful in refining these visuals.
Overall, I embraced various AI tools to optimize production workflow, address creative needs, and revamp branding elements like the DDMC logo, enhancing the podcast's professional appeal while discussing the future potentials of AI in video production.
