    He literally, converted each frame into a picture, printed them all out which probably took hours if not days, then cut them out with probably took longer, then painstakingly swapped out each picture out for another making sure they lined up correctly and even added cool movements with them which probably took 10 times as long. So all in all this could have taken months. And all of that just for a meme, I have mad respect for this man.

    This will probably forever be my favorite Bad Apple video. No matter how many times I come back to it, I'm absolutely stunned by the attention to detail and all the little tricks to make the absolute best, fullest use of the stop motion medium to give the whole thing such a 3d, if not 4d, feeling despite working with specifically such a 2d music video. It's ridiculously impressive. I think my favorite mini detail has to be the 3:00 one using the EDGE OF THE CUTTING BOARD.

    Based on the size of the pictures and the price of a black and white photocopy, this shouldn't be too expensive.
    There are 6566 pictures. You can easily print 20 little pictures on a single photocopy. 6566/20 = 328,3
    A black & white photocopy cost at most 0,20 €/$.
    328,3 x 0,20 €/$ = 65,66 €/$

    • @bhull242
      @bhull242 5 років тому +30

      Yes, cost-wise, this wouldn’t be too much, although the fact that at least half the images are more than 3/4 black would increase the cost a bit. Still, not by that much, and that doesn’t affect the number of pieces of paper used.
      The time and effort of 1) converting each frame of animation into its own .bmp file, 2) modifying several frames to incorporate changing camera angles and use of real-world objects, 3) arranging them into the printed format, 4) printing them out and cutting them apart, 5) getting those black leaf shapes, 6) arranging them for the stop-motion animations and then recording them, and 7) editing it all together is substantial.
      While there are some things I’d’ve done differently, the task is far too massive for me to accomplish.
