The shadow art version was about blending shapes between transitions, this video was made so you can see _who_ the characters are, not to try and 1-up it.

People basing this video, please take into consideration the sheer DIFFICULTY of fully animating fluidly, finding all suitable models, finding appropriate effects, and later editing to look like the real thing is in such a limited program like Miku Miku Dance. This work should be applauded equally as much as the original, because it takes just as much time and skill to make something like this. It's easy to understand why non-MMD users would under appreciate this, but I mean, c'mon! It's AMAZING

Seeing all these characters in colour for the first time - really felt like I was looking at a whole new set of characters even though their silhouettes are the same.
These are characters from 2002 to 2007 with one character from 1998. In total there are 155 Touhou Project characters.

the reason why it was in B&W was so that the transitions would be clever. furthermore, this doesn't use identical models, so a lot of things look off. this is just an example of an artist using a style well in order to create something truly unique and unreplicatable.
That and MMD is buggy as all hell when it comes to models like, Rwby, or an actual vocaloid.
Physics tend to go out of whack.
If they tried to 100% recreate this from memory, while its somewhat good it still could be better.
But again, MMD physics suck balls.

Why are you comparing this video the original 2d one?? This is just a remake of the motion but in MMD! MMD is something advanced but not as advanced as real life is..and the original 2d video is drawn okay? So why are you comparing? I think this video is really epic since the author is able to animate like this. Sure it has some flaws but do you think you're any better if you just keep on yapping about how this video isn't the same as the original? Omg,some people..Finding flaws in MMD videos are just lame.Unless if it was too unnecessary.
Seriously it's hard to work out why there has to be complaints about them. I enjoy both versions as I love how the original is done but I also enjoy this since it's coloured. Guess though that there are very few people who are opened to accept both without issues unlike most...

I have to say, I liked the decision to make the yin-yang Reimu and Marisa the PC-98 versions of them. It fit really nicely.

Idk anything about this game series but I love the creativity of Bad Apple, so it’s really cool seeing what these characters look like for the first time
The original Bad Apple is from Touhou 4, released in August 1998. The characters in this video are 35 out of 150+
The 100 people that disliked this video must not know how difficult and time consuming it is to make one of these mmd animations.

A little bit of info for some people since... idk just want to say it lol.
This's a (tried to) recreation in non monochrome mmd by different artist. Some people actually thought this's the original without the monochrome. While as far as I know, the original artist didn't even tell what kind of software or model they used to make it.
I mean, it's pretty obvious from the model and how rough the movements are.
This animation is great. The transitions are just as good as the original. It was nice to see the 3d version but the original made the transitions on some parts easier on the eyes. But no hate on this though.
