greater barge buff makes your next channeled ability a DoT instead (like a bleed but it can still crit) so you don't waste a ton of your zerk on 1 ability

Zerker is really good for this bc it boosts damage when you're not zerked but you should be able to do this on any aura
When you say bleed your assault what do you mean? Melee is the dark magic I have never gone near
