The Mystery of Obtaining Ganondorf’s Horse in Ocarina of Time (Zelda)

- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a game I'll be picking apart mysteries in for years to come. And today we have an interesting one: At one point in my childhood, it was believed that Link was capable of stealing Ganondorf's horse in Ocarina of Time. One difficult challenge stood in our way to making this a reality, or so we believed: Beating Ingo with a normal horse in Lon Lon Ranch. Is it possible? What happens if you do? Well, let's take a closer look at this Zelda mystery and find out!

Totally not intended on my end, but still pretty cool: Ocarina of Time released in the USA 21 years ago today.
So, the get can drink now?
I have a recommendation for a video, in Super Mario Galaxy 2 on Cosmic Cove Galaxy, there is something strange I saw in the 2nd star, which is called "Exploring the Cosmic Cavern" or something like that. When you first arrive on the level, if you look VERY CLOSELY in the background behind you, you might see a few small distant black holes which seem to be VERY far away. Could you please check it out to see if its a glitch or a later part of the level? If you read this and plan to make a video on it. Thank You
Want to know something I've always found funny, my older Brother was born the exact day and year the original Legend of Zelda was released in the US, then my other Older Brother was born a few months before Links Awakening came out, then I was born in 1997 a year before OoT then my little brother was born in 1999 a year before Majoras Mask (and different months than those games) so all 4 of us were close to Zelda release dates and just slowly got farther from the release date, don't know why but I always found that funny. My Sisters weren't close to any of the release dates though.
Wait so are you gonna cover the running man in your next video?
Raise a glass to OoT.
The story I always heard for Ganondorf's horse was beating running man. It supposedly had infinite carrots and had a hover boot effect that let it ignore some impassable terrain. Early days of internet cheat sites always had the best fake theories.
I had a friend in school, back in the day, that used to say a similar thing. I spent hours trying to beat the running man xD
The story I heard, and that could be found on many cheat websites years ago, was that finishing Malon's race challenge in under 35 seconds would reward you with Zelda's white horse, which was able to fly.
I tried and failed so many times before eventually sending a letter to Nintendo Power asking for help. They confirmed I had been fooled, and I had to wait with everyone else until BotW to legitimately obtain her trusty stead.
Gilbals I remember on a site called cheatcc reading if you Best the game without dying you get another horse(always assumed it’s was ganondorfs). Beat the game numerous times without a game over and nothing lol.
I heard the same rumor, but back then, it was "How to get the Pegasus horse". It apparently could fly.
Do you guys remember trying to get Mew in Pokemon..... Fucking Under a truck or in the daycare! God damn hours wasted! Good times :D
How to steal Ganondorf's horse
Step 1: Play Breath of the Wild
Still not Ganondorf's horse, it's just a horse of a rare breed.
Step 2 : roll under GANON's crouch!
step 3:steal the horse and replace epona
step 5:brag
step 7: realise you're too poor for the dlc
Instruction Manual: "Traveling by foot in Hyrule can take a really long time."
Lol. Even Nintendo knows that traversing through Hyrule Field without Epona is a pain in the ass.
Superslide wasn't a thing back then though.
Still prefer playing without breaking the game as i'm not wanting any record
Having a lot of ass pains while young can lead to disability as an adult.
Maaaaaan...
Nintendo was sleeping on how innovative its player base was.
Bet they didn’t even consider the possibility of the ultimate means of Hyrulean travel.
Rollin’.
Boy.
Back in my day, on my mama, I rolled my lil’ body across every inch of that MF kingdom.
Fuck dude.
It’s good enough for the Gorons.
Them superiority developed Mf’s should have just rolled right over those pussy ass horse riding Hyleans so they could make way for the future.

Repeatedly tucking and rolled across vast expanses of land and screaming a little every single time you roll: IN.
@@anormalhumanperson7196 same lol 😂
Actually they did that so Hyrule would seem bigger then the game actually made it
I was chasing after the sky temple when I heard about this. The rumor was that you had to first get Gannon's horse then use it to beat the running. After that you went to the temple of time and played the scarecrow song. I must have spent over 150 hours when I was younger on this myth, lol.😀
F
This one I remember
Could be worse. My childhood friend spent MONTHS burying "dragon eggs" (they were just rocks) in the sandbox, watering them, sitting on them like a bird, and then patiently waiting for them to hatch. They never hatched. Everyone told him those were just regular rocks, but he said we'd all see who is right once he has his own dragon. He did not get a dragon. So all in all, you could have spent your time in worse ways!
(Yes.... my _friend_ did that. Not me. I'm super smart, I'd never think something so silly...)
I always kind of believed that Ganondorf and Zelda's horses in BotW were a cute nod to theories like this. I heard a similar rumour in the early internet days and I remember seeing a ton of people trying to figure out how, if possible, to get the mysterious other horse.
It's nice that we finally get to do it years later in a different game, and neither of the two disappoint.
It was not local. I've heard that rumour quite sometimes. It all started due to a Gossip Stone saying that "Ganondorf's horse is a black stallion!" or something. So, people thought it was a hint that he could be obtainable.
Your assuming its gender?

“And Zelda’s white one...”
This rumor was also spread around my school back then, so it wasn't just regional.
Also, I remember a rumor that if you left Epona out in Hyrule Field for too long without moving her she'd get stolen by Gerudo thieves. I became VERY worried about that (I always had a hard time winning the race, so I was afraid I'd have to do it again) for a while until I realized that no one I knew had ever had that happen, so it was probably fake.
this entire video makes me miss instruction books. "on page 36" meanwhile today we are lucky to get more then 1 reused page
It's a weird feeling opening a brand new Switch case and just having a tiny cartridge inside. I feel like there was so much unique artwork inside of them too. Granted, some of this stuff shows up on the official game's website now, but it isn't the same.
My ritual was always to read the instruction manual first and then start the new game!
@@SwankyBox Yeah. I remember sitting in the back seat as a kid reading the instruction manual super excited to get home and play my new game. Just added that little extra to the game's enjoyment for me. Tho i guess with modern game tech all the lore stuff they would put into the booklets they can just put into the actual game now.
I still have a stack of DS manuals, i loved reading them to see if i could find any story bits or find some cool official art. it was nice to have something physical there.
Or even just a QR code to scan to go look at the manual online. Like the NES/ SNES classic, they couldn't even be bothered to simply put like a PDF or something on the plug-n-play itself.
The two things in OoT that always bugged me were the guy you can’t beat in a race and the guy in the forest who turns into a Stalfos (and presumably eats Cojiro). I’ve always assumed that the race guy at least was the result of rushed development and they never put in whatever was needed to beat him.
As for the guy in the forest, maybe they didn’t have any plans to allow players to save him, but it does suck a bit that you can’t do it and that Cojiro vanishes too. I think he was the carpenter’s son or something so you’d think they’d be upset about him dying.
link is the stalfos, the kid lost in the forest , is link from the wining tree branch
Nah dude the guy in the forest is the same sad guy who says his parents are terrible and the carpenter main boss in a dick so it makes sense he was a miserable dude. And I always assumed that cojiro just lived in the woods but it is up to interpretation.
There is no real confirmation in-game that he turns into a Stalfos as they only appear in the Forest Temple (you never encounter any Stalfos in the Lost Woods or Sacred Forest Meadow) and trading with him can occur after defeating the Stalfos inside the Forest Temple! For all we know, Fado is lying and just told Link that to scare him out of the forest (either out of distrust, her pranking an outsider, or out of fear for his safety) and may have scared off the man who just doesn't appear (or if you want to get really dark, Fado killed him for giving Link the Odd Mushroom cause she is overprotective of the forest)! His absence from the party at Lon Lon Ranch can be chalked up to his family problems, not liking crowds, or maybe he and his Blue Cucco are hanging in the house with Talon's Cuccos!
Yes, the Stalfos curse could be real as curses aren't uncommon in Zelda and OoT has four confirmed types of curses (the Great Deku Tree's death curse, the curse that made Jabu-Jabu ill, the Gold Skulltula curse on the Fabulously Rich Family, & the curses on each of the temples that prevent the Sages from awakening), but again the evidence is pretty much Fado's word and his disappearance (still the crowds of people at the party, Bombchu Shop owner, & Bombchu Bowling Alley clerk all are shown attending the party at Lon Lon Ranch despite Link never being able to encounter them in the adult timeline indicating they are somewhere far away or hiding out somewhere that is inaccessible to Link, so his absence from the party & rest of the game doesn't necessarily confirm it as again he may have refused to attend the party due to his issues with his parents)!
Y'all know you can jump over the little gate that Ingo closes right? I've never jumped over the wall like you're "supposed" to, I just jumped over the small one.
When I tried to jump over the gate it didn't let me do only the above the wall jump
@@ujwalkuckian it's tough to angle it right but it can be done. Tbh I only figured out that you could also jump over the walls because I was doing laps in frustration of screwing up the gate jump too many times lol.
@@wea69420 Can also back up that the entry gate has the WORST leniency of all gates except maybe the field gates. I've only managed it once out of 6? 7? attempts on the N64 and only on my more sensitive controller with the joystick that wasn't worn out from Mario Party circle murder. You have to be basically perfectly perpendicular and go at top speed to get through.
I found out about the wall hop only because I wondered if it was hoppable too, after winning Epona. (I have a file that's JUST before the race because I like racing Ingo more than the Malon time trials.)
Both solutions are intended. I jumped the gate the first time I got Epona.

Geee Wilikers Zelda! Ganon has the Ocarina of Time, we're all royally screwed!
Can't wait for an OOT mod that makes Ganondorf the hero in a brand new story, using OOT's engine!
That would be sick

I was a Zelda Ocarina of Time modder at one time. I was working on a mod where a Dark Link was the hero and he had to beat Ganondorf when regular Link failed. Unfortunately, my computer broke and I lost everything. Fml
Wait he ISN'T the hero??
@castlevaniax1 Naughty, naughty boy; wtf is wrong with you !? 😨🙄
I had no idea epona could jump across the bridge lol
I on the other hand never knew you could hook shot to the other side. I thought the only way was with epona
I remember hearing something as a child about there being some event where you could find zelda's white horse somewhere in hyrule field after some happening in the game, such as after the cut scene where she flees with Impa, or at some point while Link is an adult. It was supposedly possible to get the horse, though it was extremely difficult. There was supposedly some trick to being able to get it. I never saw the horse during all the times I would wildly go running around the field just because I wanted to, (and that was quite often) but I did believe it was probably possible if you knew when and where to find it.
it was fake man, its impossible without glitch
Funny enough you can actually jump the gate that Ingo is standing in front of when he locks you in. I used to always do it that way until I realized you can jump off one of the sides, and have always done it that way ever since because it looks super funny in the cutscene.
bet good looks bc i thought i remembered doing this but wasnt sure

2:44, for those wondering.
It's weird. I have this fuzzy memory of my cousin playing Oot and actually riding Ganondorf's horse.
I recall him running away from Gerudo's Fortress with the horse after beating the archery challenge.
“When you flip to page 38 of the instruction manual....”
Yeaa, I miss those good ol days, back when the instruction manuals were actually interesting and creative, rather than being only a couple pages of warnings and console instructions. Kinda wish a game could do that in modern day.
Norrec Vizharan some do. Buy more physical games, vote with your wallet that you still want them around.
With the proliferation of the internet, the disappearance of instruction booklets was inevitable
Maybe originally it was a choice in the game but nintendo just added epona to safe on programming other horses in the game map having other horses running around hyrule field on the n64 would take up more game development time and could cause lag issues they decided to implement the choice feature of a horse in breath of the wild
It wouldn't have been that intensive to have other horse options. It'd basically just be a model swap. They already have two different fully rideable horses in the game. Extending it to three or four wouldn't make a big difference.
It wouldn't be much of a difference, all horses would share the same code for collision and movement, the only extra parts would be to spend some memory to storage where you left each horse (I doesn't have to keep the entire horse loaded, just some numbers representing the area and coordinates of where you left them)
Love your videos when there's an inch of reality hidden under the game's code. However, this one is such a stretch. It's a nice story in a "what if" sort of way, but there's no evidence that Ganondorf's horse was ever going to be obtainable in-game. You even state this at the end of the video as spawning it using cheat codes reveals that it was unmountable. The only interesting bit of evidence that Ganondorf's horse was planned in a bigger scope but scrapped is one of the Shiekah Gossip Stones in the game which details and describes the horse for some reason. I'm surprised that this wasn't mentioned in this video.
ye that video sucked ganons massive black stallion
I feel like all of his videos are pretty much like this. Questions not worth discussing but more so as a way to talk about Zelda for clicks. I’m all for theories and game lore, but he doesn’t do a good job at it.
I had no idea you could race with a random horse
ganon is mad because PETA stole his horse
LMAO!
Tbh even if Epona was given to Ganondorf, I don't think he would use Epona. Epona is probably no match for his own horse. I mean, come on. Still an entertaining video.
Maybe Epona was meant for when Ganny's horse became too old
The horse was probably intended as tribute and not as a replacement for gannondorf's horse.
Possibly Ganondorf saw potential in Epona and wanted her to breed with his own.
Even if I was going to get on her I would of crushed her from how heavy I am in armor
@@Careidina342 that makes a lot of sense as well.

The reason why the language is vague is so that the instructional booklet wouldn’t spoil the fact that eventually, Link will get Epona.
Lack of research, can't enunciate, annoying voice, clickbaiting videos that are way too long
I mean, you’d kinda know just from the title screen
He litterally mentioned that it tells you about Link being an adult, probably the worst thing for a booklet to spoil
There's a literal drawing of Link riding Epona, why wouldn't anyone know
The massive pic of Link with Epona wasn’t a hint, huh?
I couldn’t read when I first played this so I was never allowed to leave the forest. My older brother would pretend to read the right thing to me.
I seem to recall that there's a wisdom stone somewhere in the game that mentions that ganondorfs steed is a creature summoned from hell // the underworld. It's thus unlikely that you would stable it alongside ordinary mammal horses.
It'd be nice if nintendo implemented these rumors into the game, having that one ridiculously difficult challenge that gives you an item that breaks the game is always fun to have.
Did he call Epona a wild horse? It's been in captivity its whole life!
Feels goofing just barely hitting the 10 minute mark doesn’t it swankybox
Am I the only one who just jumped over the gate Ingo closed with Epona and not over the side wall? I didn't even know you could jump the side wall untill these UA-cam videos, lol.
You can jump over the gate ingo closes? 😂
@@jjane222 Yes you can jump over the gate or the wall, the gate is more precise.
In the original 1.0 version of the game, a lot of the sheikah stones talk about Ganondorf's horse for some reason lol.
I went on Odyssey of Hyrule a lot as a kid, which was a big deal for OOT glitches and rumors from 1999 to 2003, and I've never heard this one before.
I didn't use the brown horse in races, I'd always just ride epona until he agreed to race me. Didn't know you could never win with the brown horse or anything.

Ocarina of Time is a classic for a reason. I never even played it myself until a couple years ago, but it's fantastic. I'm oftentimes not really interested in older games, so for a game like Ocarina to catch my attention was really something. Obviously graphically it doesn't stand the test of time lol, but as far as gameplay and story it's still amazing to this day.

The rumors behind Ocarina of Time back on the mid-90s Internet were the greatest thing ever. Scouring forums manually looking for info.. ah times I miss dearly. Finding the triforce was the best rumor though!
I didn't grow up with Ocarina of Time. Not because I wasn't old enough, I certainly was. No, the reason why I didn't grow up with it was because I was a PS1 kid. I grew up with Crash and Spyro and Ape Escape and a bunch of other timeless classics from the PS1 library. For the most part, I have no regrets in this regard. Ocarina of Time is the one game that makes me wish I did have an N64 back in the day though. Not as a replacement for the PS1, those memories are too precious to me. But in addition to it.
When I was a teenager I had a Wii, and one of the games I had on the Wii was Twilight Princess. At first it was rather boring to me, I played a bit of the intro, stopped playing, and put the game down. Months later, I had the weird urge to give the game another try. I put the game back in my Wii, and pushed through the boring intro segment. Soon, I was totally hooked. I played through Twilight Princess entirely many times over after that, I fell in love with the game.
This got me itching for more, so I did some research into the Zelda games. At the time Twilight Princess was the newest game in the series, and the 2D entries didn't really interest me much. There was one that caught my attention though: Ocarina of Time. It wouldn't be until years later I would finally get a chance to play Ocarina of Time. It wasn't a copy that I owned, so I only had time to play through the fire temple before I had to return it, but I found myself surprised to enjoy it every bit as much as I enjoyed Twilight Princess.
I couldn't care less about the rest of the N64 library. Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, Mario Party, Donkey Kong 64, these are games that hold special places in many people's hearts. I am not one of them. The only game that truly catches my interest on the N64 is Ocarina of Time. I also had the chance to play Majora's Mask but... That wasn't really my thing. One day I would like to own a copy of Ocarina of Time so I can play through it to completion.

Zelda ocarina of the time was a big part of mine and my brother child hood too and all the theories what came along with it specially in School to. and the horse situation popped up one of them being if you jumped off the side of the mountain you will land in the field with the horses and you would be able to take any horse you won’t . so Sometimes if we was good during the week the teacher would let Us Bring one of are game consoles on Fridays so I took my Nintendo 64 and the game and told him to prove it Long story sure he couldn’t Proof his theory right no matter how many times he tried jumping off the edge. Thank you for this! I always wondered about this when I was a kid. I wanted to keep or win with the brown horse. I adore Epona, but I wanted this to happen too. This is so epic!
2:35 - I can understand why some people might think that, but to me its obvious the manual is subtlely hinting at Link getting Epona by putting the artwork of Adult Link & Epona next to the explanation! If I remember correctly, if Link doesn't have a horse and tries to do Horseback Archery Course he would ride a normal horse provided by the proprietor of said course!
The game itself implies that Ganondorf's Steed may have died during the seven year time span and that its ghost is ridden by none other than Phantom Ganon (it would explain its absence and why Ingo was planning to give Epona to Ganondorf as he would be in need of a new horse)!
Ride "the" Horse, not Ride "a" horse. And 'the' horse is Epona.
Hes was reading from the manual. He shows a picture and says he is quoting the manual. Hell he goes onto mention it's odd the manual says a horse and not epond right after.
@@ballthatbounces626 'A' horse not specifying any horse. But simply just proper spelling, Although you can ride 'the' horse. And it says hyrule field is big so its better to use 'a' horse. @@melevont5597 I dont get what that has tto do with what I said.
@@ballthatbounces626 ?? You just mentioned him mentioning the Manual saying a horse and not epona. You are actually stupid too for editing the comment.
The manual does not say "the horse" every time. It often uses "a horse" instead. No matter how many times it says "the horse," if there is even one "a horse" that logically means the horse is not specific. And it says "a horse" repeatedly.
Next video: is it possible to ride Aggro, the horse of Shadow of the Colossus?
The one horse that always peeked my curiosity was the one in Gerudo Fortress in the horse-back archery course. I remember trying to find a way to ride it haha.
3:40 - For the longest time, I would have Epona jump over the gate that Ingo closes on Link as I assumed it was the one you were supposed to jump over! I only found out later on that you could jump over the other fences (each fence has its own cutscene that plays as Link & Epona enter Hyrule Field)! Mind you I also discovered Epona can jump over them after freeing the ranch from Ingo's control (though I think the front gate jump is only available when Link & Epona are locked in by Ingo)!
O_o out of the 10 times I've beaten ocarina of Time I never new you could use epona in gerudo valley. I always thought you needed the long shot.
Wut..... but.....wow.....lol
Ganondorf's face in the thumbnail cracked me up 😂
Wait? What do you mean you can’t beat the running man? Sure you can. I’ve done it every run through I’ve ever done.
Hippity hoppity your horse is now my property.
If I remember, there are three horses other than Epona that you can try racing Dingus with... Over the years I've tried them all on both the N64 and the Project64 emulator. Both are the same, without hacks or cheats, you can only win with Epona as scripted.
This rumor happens when you put the cart before the horse
I've never heard any of these stories, but now I miss that era of games.
Getting Epona is always the first thing I do as an adult. That way I can get the Biggorn Sword before I even enter the Forest Temple.
I'd rather have one of the buckskins than Epona. I like how they look.
Hero's, and Titans 2 kinda looks like new age WoW especially with those mounts, and hell ya 30 Man Raids...
I miss those calculated strategic wars, hell I remember being in a 40 Man Raid in WoW Wotlk, as a DPS Hunter having my pet taking the brunt, the tanks right besides them, and me just in between the tanks, and the healers.
Raid leaders actually had to plan routes, and convey them to their troop effectively, they eventually removed that, and now raids
I love Ganondorf's face in the thumbnail
Does Zelda's horse remind anyone else of Ilia from Twilight Princess? No? Just me?
Im sorry but.. Ganonhorse, Donky and.. zelda.. cuz you have to addimit its a preety good name for a ponny v: Or Corselda :v
Awesome perspective. Never thought about any other 🐎.
2:50 you actually just opened my eyes, no I actually never have played a game, OoT for example, where I thought about how the game was made. OoT is supposed to be cause and effect, but I only played it as a game where I go do the things that need to be done. Maybe if I'd stop and think about how a game was intended to be played; that I could actually 'play' that game.
To be fair when it said the horse, remember for whatever reason ingo either forgets its epona, or he thinks you'll lose so he let's you ride that horse. Because I guess epona was either shy or didnt obey certain people easily. It wouldnt have worked out if epona was given to gannondorf
These are so fascinating, shocked how many people are still into this game.
6:22 blursed image right there
when i was young, I made my own instruction manual for a link to the past. I drew all itwms I could find out of memory and gave them my own canon descriptions :-)
The instruction book argument is weak. They wouldn't mention Epona's name in there because it's kind of a surprise that you can ride her as an adult after meeting her as a child along with Malon. So of course it would be a spoiler to say that you can only ride Epona.
All his arguments are weak -- the guy clearly doesn't do any actual research when making these videos. Just check out the newest SM64 121st star incident too -- he doesn't know what he's talking about.
i beat indigo on the n64 with the normal horse in both races as a kid. it was my first play threw i hadn’t learned epona’s song yet, and i didnt know how catch and ride her so i just figured i had to beat him with the green horse. after many many tries i finally did it, many fail quits, several long afternoons. i would get in front of him and stall him or push him into the fence to stall him. i finally won i was soooo happy. jumping over the fence, had I epona and i thought maybe i wasn’t reading the dialogue carefully and missed something. haha
The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To Another Game
Ive personaly spent way too much time playing this game, and surprisingly enough, some of the rumours are true. The broken deku stick as powerful as genuine big gorons sword, infinit deku stick trick, defeating shadow link with broken big sword, defeating ganon with megaton hammer works with alot of enemies, but ive have completed escaping lon lon with a different horse, one of the brown ones, without cheating or hacks. And the cut scene was not with epona. Although, this did pose some issues later. It didnt responed to summonong, escaping with the horse is a chance in a million, it doesnt want to willingly jump the wall like epona does easily. But using ganondorfs horse, no. But the brown horse didnt have any carrots, but for some reason did have infinite gallop. I did as much as i could prove true on my jungle orange n64 plus xpansion pack. Memo, nobody needs to use the bottle duplication trick, i remember that once a file has done it once, losing that item can accidently occur to almost all usable items by accident just by simply switching to and from equip. Great pics of link on that horse, i also forgot, if you save and quit with another horse, the intro title screen will also change to that horse
Video: Is about Ocarina of Time
Swanky: Plays some Twilight Princess music in the background
I got Ganon’s horse in ocarina of time! On the epona jump scene, you have to push (on d pad) up, down, a, b, right, z, r really fast on controller 1 and at the same time have someone on controller 2 push left, up, L, b, a, yellow up, yellow right. After the jump scene, you’ll have Ganon’s horse.
I actually didn’t even know you could jump the bridge with Epona lol
When I was a kid I didn't have an N64. I had a kid try to convince me you could get the mirror to dark world (which was actually just the Lens of Truth), and that by using it you could obtain Phantom Ganon's horse. Then by playing Epona's Song it would appear out of a portal for you to ride.
It literally says "The" horse, not "a" horse. Definitive article. Your commentary doesn't even match up with what's on screen...
I dont think you realise whats going on in the video or you watched till the end
Well, the modding scene seems to be thriving for OoT, so I'm looking forward to all kinds of epic content still!
9:00 for actual answer
TL;DR - You can only spawn the horse with a code. Can't interact with it. Alternatively there exists a mod to change Epona's look
Man I miss back on the day pre-internet or early internet where there would be crazy rumors like this about games. Like mew in pokemon, the boat etc. There was no centralized place online to go and confirm if it was true or not you just had to try it out and share your findings with your friends. Good times
Ganondorf's horse is *SO CUTE*
Love Ganon in the thumbnail 😂 just came for Ganon!!
Stealing the main antagonists horse is the ultimate way to assert dominance.
Supposedly you can get the brown horse if you don't jump over the fence. Saving your game after racing Ingo with the brown horse, you supposedly get to keep it. Rumors say it's a bug that was never fixed on a certain version. However, they also say, epona's song doesn't work and you lock yourself from unlocking the cow in your house in Kokiri village. You also have to hunt down the brown horse if you wish to adventure with it. Of course you lock yourself from other events. Like getting Epona and wining the bunny race.
Never knew you could race Ingo on a normal horse, as i would always get Epona early on so i could to the goron sword quest before forest temple.
These days I do shadow temple when i become an adult. Glitch in) To get the boots. Hover boots allows you t break so many temples. Early Fire temple boss, Early water temple boss, Forest temple, i just get bow and then glitch to boss room. Spirit temple, i use hover glitch to go form kid era to the Mirror shield and then when i come back as adult link, just hookshot up there.
I never even knew you could use a different horse to race him.
God I Love your OOT Videos Thank you!!!
I can vouch, you can get Ganon's horse. I did it. No one will believe me, but I can tell you how and what happens if you do. You have to continuously clip Epona into the fence while staying right in front of her while racing. Afterwards, you get stuck inside the ranch because Ganon's horse cannot jump over any fence or walls. Also, it confuses the game codes. It is not easy, but you can do it. This would have been on the 64 console and Ingo rides Epona if you choose Ganon's horse.
It’s nice that it’s easy to confirm these things now days but I truly miss all the theory’s and stories of unlockables growing up! I never heard of this particular one but I do remember trying to beat the running man outside Gerudo valley and just hoping and wondering what would be the reward. “YAAHH!!” In Mario 64 I heard there was a spot on the wall to jump into on the second floor, in the hall between two other pictures towards the top and you’d get to some sort of water world, and I heard of you played 1 million rounds with a character on Smash 64, you would unlock that character in gold lol good times
P.S. in Smash 64 I quickly realized how crazy it would be to accomplish that so i would constantly set up my favorite character at the time (Kirby) on cpu for all slots and just constantly replay, cause now thinking about it I think it was a million K.O.’s who knows lol waste of time but some of my best memories
