4:21 This is one of the big things I didn't get about the McDonald's experiment. Making a big change to your training, like completely cutting out your regular hangboarding routine, is exactly the kind of thing that DOES confound your results. I would've expected Dave of all people to know this.
This might be just me, but when asked why he stepped away from the carnivor diet i wished he answered for climate reasons, to somehow advocate for the fact that we can't have it all. As a young obsessed climber but quite aware of how our decisions affect our ecosystem, flying around the globe to climb or eating strictly meat to be stronger just doesn't feel right anymore. And it also feels so unfair, as some people are living quite obliviously and others feel the urge to sacrifice so much. Would work so much better if everyone just chipped in a little. And climbers could be such great advocates of change as our sport is so tighed to nature. Just a thought.
if you watch his carnivore diet and ketogenic diet videos he acknowledges that fact and the evidence about it, and also he completely cut out flying for carbon reasons a few years ago.
I just Had the subtitles suggest that Dave said "fleshlight" 🤣🤣🤣. I thought this was climbing rather than porn, or is it some strange training routine???? I think maybe flesh out was was correst wording.

Yeah the simplest answer (though not necessarily correct) is he was just over trained.

If Dave doesn’t supplement creatine, than that might be one possible pathway to higher numbers.
Yeah I’m pretty sure it is !
Perhaps he was massively overtrained?
