  • A little video from our first go at Grass Skiing away from home!....Cue epic looking location!
    The ponies are
Sebastian - 3.5yr old Shetland Stallion: This was Sebs first time out at all, he's only young but he coped brilliantly with the challenges of the environment, the free roaming moorland ponies etc! Lovely to start getting him out and about...he's going to be very cool!
Claude - 5yr old Shetland Stallion: You mostly see Claude as my offside wheeler when carriage driving the boys team, he's starting to really develop in to a wonderful individual and skiing behind him is probably my favourite as he's quick!
Evenos - 8yr old Connemara gelding: Eves I started on the Island Project, he's such a great chap to take out, he epitomizes the term allrounder as he pretty much now does most things, he is the nearside wheeler when driving, he's part of my liberty team, he's great to ride both with and without tack...he's strong in body and mind but kind and definitely one of life's optimists!

Emma that was incredible. You make it look so easy but I am sure you must have some crazy spills while practicing.
All your ponies seems so relaxed and happy.
Big hugs for what you do

I always love to watch you and your Ponies no matter what activity you guys are up to for the day. The Ponies love you so much and have such a bond with you that they are willing to work and play with you. Love is such a great tool to keep in tool box and works so well.

You are amazing. Just when I think I've seen it all, you come up with something new and even more amazing. Its fairly obvious to me you've done some skiing, I can't imagine doing that without the experience, knowing what it takes to tow behind a snow mobile and its bloody hard work, let alone handle the horse as well. And by the way, I am a great advocate of the "bridge" (crossed reins in one hand or two) can get a lot done with a bridge and easy to adjust. Top stuff! Greetings from Australia. Ponies are wonderful, they'll be in anything you offer up.

Thank you Emma and Jeremy for allowing us to share your beautiful experiences. It’s so inspiring. I also love the way you explain what you’re doing Emma, and describe the different levels of training of each of your ponies and how that determines how much you stretch them and what new exciting adventures you engage them in. Loving what you do!

Claude is identical to my 34" mini, Seven. He also drives, but I think I just found a fun alternative to the cart! Thanks Claude, you're a good boy! 💕

    I've done this before.
    Without the skates. unintentionally. LOL
I remember at the riding school I used to help out at, ponies are notorious for being cheeky little gits and you know the British native breeds are strong AF despite their sizes.
Well, one pony in particular who was a right character. Absolute plod and would definitely find any excuse not to do any work with a kid on his back. This guy would also drag anyone like a tank if he decided he was going to run off. It ended up becoming my job to wrangle ponies because I was apparently good at it.
Anyway, this particular pony was really having none of it one day and had given several people the run around and many rope burns, I'd finished supervising a hack and went up the field to see if I could catch him.
Which I did. I was also determined not to let go. Problem was, the ground was very hard, and we'd had some downpours; the water liked to gather in this part of the field. You can see where this was going.
I dug my heels in and leant back with all my weight ..... and I just started hydroplaning. I was true to my word that I didn't let go but goddamn that was a weird experience.... and everyone watching thought it was hilarious.
I'd like to try it in controlled conditions, but I'm terrible at skating, and I don't know how I didn't end up on my backside or face.

Once again you have outdone yourself! It was one for meeting all the different ponies and seeing how they work with you and to hear and see how much fun you're having and then. Thank you again for the work that you and your friends do to make these wonderful videos for education and entertainment. Stay well, be safe, love from Texas.

Are there wild stallions as well as mares? What happens when one of those comes out to challenge your small boys? This scenario happened to me whilst driving and it was quite scary.
