Holton's H104 "Tuckwell" is a well-revered horn that as endorsed by Barry Tuckwell. Considered the "flagship" horn of the brand, this is a fantastic model of horn that plays quite well and has several of unique characteristics.
The rose brass bell against a nickel silver body not only looks beautiful but gives the horn a very warm chamber sound. The Holton tapers make this horn very agile and light. This is a great solo and chamber horn but can also be played orchestrally. An interchangeable leadpipe system makes this horn easy to adapt to different playing situations. Unfortunately, I only have one leadpipe for this horn, the BT4 model.
The valves on this horn are awesome. They are quick, light, and have good compression. They have been professionally aligned in my shop and work perfectly. All the slides are in good shape too. This horn has been professionally cleaned and serviced and is ready to play!
This horn does have signs of use. There are signs of dent repair in the bell tail, a few minor dents throughout the horn, and a good deal of lacquer wear. None the less, these are all cosmetic and the horn is still in excellent playing condition.
A brand new ProTec ProPac screw bell case is included. No mouthpiece is included, but a standard (eg. a Holton MDC or similar) mouthpiece can be included upon request.
