@@Real_Name_Jimuse your critical thinking skills. 😂 i know. What's even sadder is how quick people were to say "he did his time" "he's a changed man". Dude got a slap on the wrist ( two years) for basically attempted murder. He is a scumbag
Yeah man shut your mouth. You don’t know anything beneath surface level. It’s like you believe Tim should live in more misery than he has to. Unless you’ve had family member or friend that has been in bad situation that they put themselves in and not had to learn how to forgive and move on, then you wouldn’t understand anything Tim, or more importantly the victims have gone through.
The band was so amazing in the early 2000’s. Met them all at sounds of the underground. They were so so chill and humble. Tim was really skinny and super humble and kind. People change and some for the worst and some for the better. I feel bad for all the members and families. Wish the best for them.
I'm sure this isn't the full story, but looking at where Tim's statement overlaps others it sounds like one of the issues was that Tim wanted all the money, Phil was fighting him for everyone to get an appropriate cut, and then when Phil left everyone else was faced with a deal that would have likely lost them money to take. Also his "stick to my vision" language sounds exactly like a bully tactic that's lead to me leaving positions that I'd heavily invested in in the past. It seems likely that AILD is about to become Tim and a rotating cast of extremely under paid talented young musicians who accept the terrible contract so that they can get a major tour on their CV.
That's all it boils down to. But the guys leaving can claim he as toxic and it was a bad environment and get away with the lies because nobody will be on Tim's side except for the ones who see through their bs.
@thefaceoffuzz Maybe it was unhealthy. But we have yet to hear anything concrete on who made it unhealthy. But let's be real, any time two individuals don't get along over anything, the environment becomes unhealthy and space is required. It's 99% likely that it was unhealthy because of finances and creative decisions. And when you have one guy solely keeping the band relevant, it's easy for him to argue that he gets the bigger slice of the pie and what songs and creative direction they go down. If any of the og members had any pull with fans, then their new band would have succeeded. It didn't. They came running back to Tim, then after a few years they got their money and left him and gave the easy answer of 'something something toxic behavior. Something something I need to stand up for my morals something something blah blah blah'. And it's not like they weren't getting along somewhat. We all saw those behind the scenes videos they released for their last touring cycle. They seemed fine then. It's damn near certain this is all about money, and nothing but greed can create a massive toxic atmosphere like this.
I was in high school when AILD became really big and I'll never forget those days. There will always be a special place for them no matter what happens.

People who reform themselves take accountability for their actions, though. You're telling me that his band left him AFTER he's "cleaning up his mess", when every single one stuck it out during crap behavior this long?? Either he's "trying" very poorly to reform, or it's just lip service and he's not actually prioritizing being a better person. But then again, even a dirtbag like Varg still has fanboys suckling at his teats🙃 These guys are allowed to put themselves and their career first!! A problematic douche who can't do better for his own benefit, shouldn't be their priority. 🙄
@ophilianecr How has he not reformed himself? You can be the nicest and gentlest person in the world, and someone you know will still take issue with you over something. I understand that you have a hard time watching a man come out of prison, doing exactly what prison is supposed to do for someone going through it's system, and keep himself on the straight and narrow for 7 or 8 years now. It's got to be frustrating beyond reason to see a man turn his life around like that instead of crashing and burning like you wish they would. We all know why those guys left and it was because of creative and financial decisions. But those guys aren't keeping the band alice, Tim is. And he doesn't need them and they don't need him and they'll go get a job somewhere else.
@AngelofCruelty Nobody wants people to change for the better. Once you screw up one time, that's it. All you're ever known for from then on is determined by your misdeed. Nevermind the guy did what the prison system was meant ro do and came out with a plan and purpose for his life. Nevermind the guy is open and honest and has taken accountability for his actions. None of that matters to the trolls who feed off negative headlines and stories that his band mates will share once their NDA contracts are up. They live to see everyone around them suffer forever because of one bad decision.
Tim Lambesis As I Lay dying is now my solo project LOL Does anyone really want to play with Tim after all this debacle? Well good luck to Tim I'll be surprised if he can get any new members to play with him
Why did anybody ever have any expectations of him after you know what? I think he demonstrated a long time ago that he's in it for himself pretty exclusively.
So sad what is happening to this band. I used their song Collision as my walk out song during my wedding. Loved their music and it will forever have a special place for me. I got married in 2022 and after the wedding I told my wife what Tim had done and she thought it was funny that I would pick a song from that band but she thought the song was great and the lyrics fit a wedding. I will never forget how our guests reacted to my song playing haha.
Lets be honest.. when people say they can't work with 'as I lay dying' they meant Tim.. I've been a fan of as I lay dying' since I heard and saw '94 hours' as a teen.. glad he's. Going to continue.. it almost sounds like they just don't trust Tim.. and the band was Tim and Phil at this point pretty much.. so if he was leaving first and it just didn't unravel that way in the media... Maybe the rest were like 'meh, fuck it.. anyways I wish everyone the best and can't wait to hear hopefully more metal core bands come from this.. as well as as I lay dying again..
I wonder what Tom Barber and Alex Terrible have to say about Tim. Cuz remember, before this drama flourished, a few months ago As I Lay Dying released We Are The Dead, featuring Tom and Alex. Now perhaps the experiences during the making of that song were actually pretty professional, but I'm still curious to see their sides of the story
The strangest thing to me is, the last lineup were all long-time friends of his (Tim) as well as the OG lineup. He is burning true friends left and right fast and nod even calling them that right now, but on tour he did. Soon he will tour the world with strangers to him what arguably is even more difficult…. Its pains me to see one of my favorite bands go down in the history books like this…. Just pull the plug.
Band members: We're leaving because of unhealthy environment Tim: I'm hiring more band members to further encourage my unhealthy behavior that I take zero accountabilty for in an unsafe environment I created
Scott Kelly (Neurosis) - Admits to mentally and financially abusing his wife & family = Whole band cut ties with him and cease touring indefinitely (rightly so) Tim Lambesis (As I Lay Dying) - Plots to actually KILL his wife = Spends nowhere near enough time in jail gets released and everyone takes him back and he basically gets his old life back What gives????
'Morals' suggests that Tim either has the wrong political views for his bandmates, or he may like the young ones. 'Creative differences' would suggest that he has the all controlling streak that many other greats have had in past (Chuck Shuldiner).
Tim trying to recast band members reminds me of the final album from Chimaira… “Crown of Phantoms”…. Mark is awesome, but it wasn’t the same without the rest of the band. Maybe Tim should let this go and stick with Austrian Death Machine. Great Rob Zombie shirt, it’s a classic! I have the same one!!
At least the band has reformed (sans Andols Herrick due to health issues) and has resumed touring on a limited capacity. Austin D'amond is KILLING IT with them, the only surviving member from the Age of Hell/Crown of Phantoms era.
I love As I Lay Dying and the legacy they have left behind, however I feel after that incident with trying to off his wife has tainted the continuation of this legacy. That band was incredible with the original members including Tim, but some bands just can’t go on with other members and I know that if I was in a band that I knew was dying I’d leave too. As I Lay Dying has literally Died.
Yea because there was that statement about Tim's wife clearing up the rumour about domestic abuse or something. Sounds like it wasn't anyones fault other than everyone being like "what are we doing here?" True or not, it's clearly not healthy for anyone whether rumours get spread and arguments get made and it tends to affect every part of the band, always having a little bit of doubt about repeating the past, very much human nature. So yea possibly why everyone walked away at an integrity standpoint due to logistics surrounding the whole bands history up until this point. Makes sense because people don't want that burden of being associated with the title of leaving a bad taste in the mouth even if nothing happened who knows. I've got so much respect for all the musicians involved the last few years, especially Phil's riff and songwriting ability. Unearth are amazing too. Quite sad how it turned out, but is what it is. All the best for the future for all the guys involved. That's just my little speculation on what happened, who knows what happened personally
As a fan since Shadows are Security, the line up (Phil, Jordan, Josh and Nick) should have never given Tim a second chance, sure at first I was glad they worked out their differences, but if you actually think about it, what if Tim's wife then was actually murdered? Is that something anyone can forgive and look past? So in all fairness and if you have morals, no one should be working with Tim, he deserves no second chance or redemption considering even now how he treats members. This shows how Tim is clearly a Narcissistic and self-centered person, thinks only of himself and what he wants. A band is all about accommodating everyone's ideas influences opinions and all that, and finding a right balance to work on awesome music together not just one person way .
What I find very interesting is the financial disagreements that came up. We don't know if this was part of why they left. There is finger pointing happening, including he admits to sticking to his vision. What exactly does that mean!? Is he admitting to being bloody-minded or something else, maybe less extreme. What is not said is about how he understands they felt they left due to moral issues and respects that. For me that's a big cloud hanging over As I Lay Dying. The environment was spoken about, this has been mentioned before, and I can say the disagreement must have been charged. Speculation 1; members who left spoke about the environment plus Tim, it sounds like he's the problem, is it how the album sounds or was it more? Tim talks about the direction of the album (I'm assuming). With the financial side, was the disagreement involving that too? And why use "or"? That's odd using "or"! How would that sound using "and"? It sounds like a bit of misdirection going on there. How did this discussion sound about parting ways?
This is pretty straightforward, the rumours of him beating his current wife was the main driving force of the guys quitting and rushing their statements out, only for Dani to put out her own statement confirming the rumours were not true. This mixed in with him being difficult to be in band with etc
I think Tim knows there is no band without him, which has fed his ego even more. The original band couldn't reach the same success without him then he replaced all of them and was still successful so he knows he's the only member not replaceable which is the problem.
Unsafe could have been from a heated discussion, which often times emotionally builds, questioning morals could be about the money, and possibly replacing people….it happens especially if personal issues become part of the discussion, and almost always, money fuels worries, or problems….some people want to invest everything which creates a power dynamic for other people who might want to invest in a different or less on the edge way. Also metal is in a very adaptive time right now, so if there are members that don’t want to move with the times, there could be some artistic differences…..for instance….the use of AI….now that could be a thing that questions people morals to the brink if you think about the weight of arguments ….so I think everyone thinks it’s about abuse, but if it was anything to that level, I’d like to think different words would be used, and if it involves lawyers nothing should be said until a claim has been made.
i saw as i lay dying open for someone in like 2001 i stood in the middle of the "pit" motionless, staring at them making sure they knew that they sucked
How do they suck if they are the band that almost every metalcore band or metalcore guitarist took inspiration from? Saying they suck is a bold statement.
So after a couple of members and the tour manager announced they were leaving, rumors about Tim's current wife started circulating and she made a post denying them, and now Tim says that the ENTIRE thing was because of the rumours? Maybe roids are like alcohol and when someone is taking them he somehow thinks everything he says sounds plausible? "im not drunk, that tree fell on my car on its own"

As my wife lives!!
As I Thwart Subtle Accusations
As I Refuse To Take Accountability
Fuck it Tim should solo this shit like nine inch nails!
Such a damn shame. One of the best bands ruined by the hands of one man.
As I Will Continue To Be Hard To Work With
Well, he's on his third marriage and over 20 different members in the bands. Glad Tim confirmed it's everybody else's fault.
Looking forward to the album 🔊🎸🔥🔥🔥🤘
As I Hire More Band Members
I was really expecting a juicy statement with as long as it took to come out…
As I Lay Down and Ponder How Morally Bad of a Person I Probably Am and Need to Take Responsibility Before Dying
5:10 for Tim’s statement
Okay how many times are their statements going to be revisited?
As I Remain the Problem
Im still hyped for the new album. 🔥
aight. how can i try out
so basically WHAT happened?
Still love listening the band. Can’t wait for the new album release
As I Lay Shifting Blame
Can this band just call it quits. But Tim’s ego is in the way. Tim go away and retire from music.
Nah like or hate tim can't deny that he knows how to make banger music
Tim is one good hell of a vocalist
Yes agree they should
I wonder what Tom Barber and Alex Terrible have to say about Tim. Cuz remember, before this drama flourished, a few months ago As I Lay Dying released We Are The Dead, featuring Tom and Alex.
Now perhaps the experiences during the making of that song were actually pretty professional, but I'm still curious to see their sides of the story
Thanks for the video, well done. Excited for the new album.
Cant believe Tim is the Bay Creek Cheek Freak
Nahh how did Dexter reach this far
kang
Band members: We're leaving because of unhealthy environment
Tim: I'm hiring more band members to further encourage my unhealthy behavior that I take zero accountabilty for in an unsafe environment I created
Did the top comment get deleted? 🤔
Scott Kelly (Neurosis) - Admits to mentally and financially abusing his wife & family = Whole band cut ties with him and cease touring indefinitely (rightly so)
Tim Lambesis (As I Lay Dying) - Plots to actually KILL his wife = Spends nowhere near enough time in jail gets released and everyone takes him back and he basically gets his old life back
What gives????
I never liked Tim even before he went to jail. Crazy that he seems to has sole control of the band.
'Morals' suggests that Tim either has the wrong political views for his bandmates, or he may like the young ones. 'Creative differences' would suggest that he has the all controlling streak that many other greats have had in past (Chuck Shuldiner).
We all of this, we need proofs from everyone involved ,it make sense that we need to have those proofs and not only talk from everyone
As Tim Is All That Remains
BOO
Tim trying to recast band members reminds me of the final album from Chimaira… “Crown of Phantoms”…. Mark is awesome, but it wasn’t the same without the rest of the band. Maybe Tim should let this go and stick with Austrian Death Machine.
Great Rob Zombie shirt, it’s a classic! I have the same one!!
At least the band has reformed (sans Andols Herrick due to health issues) and has resumed touring on a limited capacity. Austin D'amond is KILLING IT with them, the only surviving member from the Age of Hell/Crown of Phantoms era.
Ugg...one of the biggest downfalls from such a great band. 3 classics is solid tho
Yo is this the guy who played “The Elitist” for Metalsucks??
ur hair gets me every time bro
Video starts at 5:10
What I find very interesting is the financial disagreements that came up.
Maybe he and Brendon urie can start a band together
"All I did was present my new assistant Tony "The Axe" Moreno to the guys and everybody left."
Wow it's bad when the whole band and manager quits at once WOW!!!
As I become Wes Scantlin
Tim: yeah so AILD is about perseverance
Fans: WHAT
i saw as i lay dying open for someone in like 2001
i stood in the middle of the "pit" motionless, staring at them
making sure they knew that they sucked
How do they suck if they are the band that almost every metalcore band or metalcore guitarist took inspiration from? Saying they suck is a bold statement.
@@Themonkey55567 the show was terrible
So... What he's saying is he wants musicians who will do everything he wants and to have no other creative input outside of himself?
Tank the Tech called it saying he will just get a new line-up and continue on with no problem.
Kind of a bummer that Tank is also turning into a gossip channel.
"im not drunk, that tree fell on my car on its own"
As I Lay Dead* fixed it for you.
Well I'm ready for a NEW Austrian Death Machine album!!!
