I had the chance to know Mr. Howe. He was an amazing man. One of my fondest memories was when he put my younger brother in a headlock. As long as you were respectful, he'd be there for you. Glad to see this bridge in his name.
A couple of videos that would make fantastic records of this bridge's construction: 1) A complete video of the threading of one or two of the stay cables for the new bridge section about to be added. I think these cables are ready-made and only need to be lifted into position, threaded through the appropriate tower bore, pulled into position, and fastened at each end. The tower threading and end fastening would be fascinating to see. 2) The erection of the next deck extension. How is this done? Are individual structural sections hoisted into place and bolted to the existing section, or is a complete extension section pre-assembled and hoisted into place? Perhaps battery life of your drone is a limiting factor, still, this would be a worthwhile record. Beautiful camera work!
For #2, there are videos where you can see the steel hoisted into place by the deck crane, then precast concrete decking is installed. Concrete must then be poured over the joints of the precast deck. Someone commented that the curing for that concrete is two weeks before the deck crane can be moved onto the new section. That means they can progress at a rate of one section every two weeks.
correct me if I'm wrong: What hastened the start of this project was COVID-19 and the Ambassador Bridge being privately owned, controlling traffic across the bridge supplying vital supplies to from the US/Canada. I'm sure there's more to it as well.
The top of the tower is being caped, they reached 722' can your drone go that high to get a down view of there progress. and the disassembly of the floating scaffold looks as if has started. How in the world do they pull that stay cable thru the casing, they must be prestressed so they don't stretch when bearing the full load.
Yes it is celebrating the death of Napoleon’s Grande Army at the hands of the Russians in 1812. Shortly before the English burnt the Whitehouse to the ground in Washington DC.
Amazing video PERFECT !!!!!!! 10 out of 10. The imagines as well as the music. THE Best I have Ever seen. Perfect

You were up early. AWESOME
I plan on getting some more videos at sunrise. I think it looks better with the city lights and the sky.
I count the sections from the tower to see how far they have gotten. They are at 13 now.
ya! 13 over the water, 16 over the inland.

Thank you! Timing is everything.

Started way before Covid.
Not even close!.. The planning for this project goes back at least 1 full decade before a single shovel even broke ground.
There's also a truck ferry near the bridge site. That service will close when the new bridge opens.

I have a drone and the highest allowed to fly by the FAA is 400 feet.
Yes unless you are next to or above an object that’s higher than 400 feet but you can’t go over 400 feet above that object.
To all those with UA-cam channels…if you’re not using a drone to film this bridge, please stop posting your videos. No comparison to drone footage🔥
Thanks for the view
What's the weight of the crane sitting on the deck?
Did you get permission to use the music, it sounds like you stole it from a movie?
It’s Tchaikovsky. It’s royalty free. Tchaikovsky has been dead for 129 years.
Royalty free music.
This is the worst background music I have ever heard for such a great project sounds like a funeral

It's just background music provided by UA-cam studio for free. I don't have a budget to purchase rights to other music.@@andrewrparken5267
