I was told by mainstream youtubers to get a AMD gpu for warzone, I was told 3200 and 3600mhz ram is perfect for competitive high end rigs...I was told so much BS that lost me money and time, and after watching a lot of your content for the last year, I've saved so much money and gained so many frames. I think the whole AMD GPU thing for Modern Warfare (both MP and Warzone) started with some people getting insane maximum numbers when looking at the sky / into the ocean or whatever. Zoomers did this with Fortnite as well, that is how they "benchmark" games it's so fking weird.
Mainstream UA-camrs don't play games, or are casual gamers that run high res / high graphics. There are very few exceptions though.
      Always do your own research!

I am so glad your channel popped up in my youtube suggestions. I just bought a 5800X3D because I needed to upgrade my cpu not for fast paced e-sports, but for VR simulation games. I just watched some AMD 7000 benchmarks with 6200mhz ram. Not worth the upgrade to AM5 yet. You're right about ram speed, it won't make much of a difference until we start going towards high 7000 ram. You think stuttering on the monitor sucks, wait 'til you try stuttering in VR. What good is all that new architecture, only to be bottlenecked by slow DDR5. I really don't get these guys wtih MBAs making these big corp decisions. If you're excited by AM5, better wait for the X3D. I'm impressed with the 5800X3D, took away most of the stuttering and I can concentrate on just playing the game. Thanks for all the great info. You helped me save a lot of money by not switching over to AM5. Keep it coming.

TBF, he didn't say it quite that way. He said if you buy the 4090 you need to get the ATX 3.0 because of the power draw, but you'd probably be fine with the 4080 and 4070 (I don't give a fig about what Nvidia says the name is). I believe it was GN that said they've heard the spikes are 660W already, and that Nvidia doesn't want to release a full 660W version until they can be certain that the PCIe 5.0 power issues are sorted out. I'm not planning on buying this space heater, but if I were, I think that I'd definitely upgrade my PSU rather than risk a fire.

What does matter though is the minimum size for DDR5 is 8Gb so no more 4Gb windows machines that can hardly run because they're bottlenecked by ram capacity.

Nice vid, ddr 4 is faster than ddr5, but ddr5 has more bandwidth so it kind of evens off in most cases... nice work as i have not seen anyone pointing this fact, issue is amd is only compatible with ddr5... and you do get " faster storage" with ddr5 as you have pcix5, empasis on "faster" as nvme is a crap show on speed, they only benchmark continuous file transfer in RAM, so it's just a paper number, for comparison a 16g(280MB/s write speed) optane is faster than 3000MB/s nvme in 4k write which is normal workload for a system

  • @kaseyboles30
    @kaseyboles30 2 роки тому +1

OK which is it? Don't take advice from people who can do technical work on their pc's, or not from people who show you how it works out of the box. The point is if you have the know-how to "tune" the settings you're the same as the pro over clockers to joe average. Getting into the bios to set XMP to on is about the limit of knowledge for most gamers, and they're typically ahead of the guy who occasionally games and just wants a good experience with good graphics. I'm smart and educated enough to tweak until I find an optimal OC for stuff on non-xoc cooling gear, but I rarely bother past the easy stuff in the bios because I'm not really interested. Most people want to know the out of box experience with minimal tweaking. And that's what most good tech tubers show. Or they show the part vs others with strong controls to isolate the effects of that one part.

Hmm im a bit surprised. I expected better than 47 ns. Didnt you get the same latency in that 6800 kit in that SR vs DR? So even when you add 800 more you still get the same latency. And in igor's lab's testing of ddr5 they also got the same latency but at a 7200. Intresting. Could it be 47-46ns is the limit of ddr5? Cant you go lower than that? Isnt samsung working on a new die? Also isnt ddr6 close too? Damn too many questions and not enough answers. But thanks for the video. Hopefully more of them soon ❤🐐

So a how much do you gain or lose from going from the typical consumer ddr5 speed on the market right now against this high end A die. While comparing them both against more cache. How much that 1000 helps against cache if any?

My personal guess would be that seismic processing would probably like ddr5. If you're loading a large dataset (like a seismic dataset) on to ram to do something with it (like a denoise or a migration), then that bandwidth would have to help. The filesizes are in the hundreds to thousands of gigabytes.

Did AIDA64 solve the BLCK readouts (it used to scale with the BCLK)?
Hell, it can make DDR4 4000 have more than 90-100GB/s of transfer on AIDA64 if you use a BLCK of 150 (but with low multipliers)...
Intel Memory Latency Checker would show that it is not the case.
However, in this case, 1.3% should not have much impact.

I have 2 issues with your setup test :
    - Quad Channel but we don't know if it's 4*8 or 2*16, which may influence the performance considering CPUs IMC on 4 sticks.
    - we don't know any Latency you used either for the DDR4 or the DDR5 testings, which also can have a noticeable difference.
Therefore, you data can be interpreted in so many ways because it's incomplete.

They all perform very similar. It also depends on luck of the draw. My 4000 16-16-16-36 will start to give errors at 1.58~1.6v even on 35c temps whereas my brother's 4000 17-18-18-38 can do even 1.65v with temps in the 40+c.
The 4000c14 is possibly a notch above all the other bins, but also extremely expensive and not available anywhere in 2x16gb kits. Anyhow it used to cost 500~$600 when available. Last I checked about a year ago it was still available in its single rank kits 2x8gb tho.
I remember before ddr5 came out I saw on extreme oc forums greedy people buying like 3 kits of the 4000c14 and then keeping the best one of the 3 and returning the rest. Sheesh...

@@weczisTV I tune my RAM, including primaries and all of ghe subtimings manually, therefore there's no such thing for an "AMD Only" kit, the 3800c14 is in theory at least a slightly better bin.
If you're a normie that sets XMP and moves on with his life because you actually want to do shit on your PC instead of spending a few days tuning and stability testing then 3600c14 is the best set it and forget it for AMD. 3800c14 might be a little problematic if you're running in 1:1:1 mode since not all can do 1900 FCLK stable.
For Intel it's a different beast with Alderlake CPUs, as you are mostly limited by the memory controller on the CPU. For example, most 12th gen K CPUs cap out at 3800~4133. Not many can even do over 4000. For example my 4000 CL16 1.4v doesn't work on my 12700K, since the memory controller can only do 3900, so I had to manually tune it to 3900 14-15-14-28 at 1.56v DRAM voltage.
By the way what do you mean your 4000c16 isn't as good as 3600c14? what platform are you running it on? are you manually tuning and overclocking it or just setting it on xmp? my 4000c16 kit can also do 3600 14-14-14-28 at 1.43v very easily....
