Definitely like (want!) the idea of performance variants across lines, whatever the naming: R1S-X, R1T-X, R2X, R3X

Thanks for the group discuss! I enjoyed it.
    A few items/thoughts:
    - charge door location (not saying right/wrong) = right side is not just Europe; saw AC charging in NYC was along the sidewalk parallel too (safer plugged in from sidewalk and not street)
    - 2nd charge door location = perhaps there could be an option to add a 2nd location for say $500? (roughly mtl/mfg cost) for those that want it or perhaps include it with say when adding a hitch "package"
    - under front seat storage = I keep hearing there is none (vs R1); but in the photos it looks like there is open space below the seats. I do not have a Rivian, so I'm assuming the difference is a drawer or door access? I'm not saying there is a bunch of space under the front seats though.
    - flashlight "port" = I'm wondering if the R2 front passenger door could fit a (2nd) flashlight or only that hand warmer/battery accessory. Or the accessory fit in the driver's door.
These were just some thoughts as I've seen various videos/discussions. Thanks again!

The symbol above the scroll wheel on the gear stalk looks like the cruise speed symbol. So the stalk probably moves up and down for gear selection. One wheel is for cruise distance and the other is for cruise speed.

30:46 100%, driver side rear is the correct place for the charge port.

I would say the right stalk knobs are only for cruise control. I can see the innermost being speed change. The outer one would be distance. Switching into drive or reverse would be as is with up or down. Engaging cruise would be a small tap down and disengage would be up. This would free up the right scroll wheel for other functions.

I think the biggest thing with the R2 will be the price.. 45k before tax credit is good.. but how much more will the dual and tri motor go, and how much more will the large battery pack be? They have to be smart when adding all these things together, because if the price goes into the high 60s or 70s.. then I think a lot of people will look elsewhere. If they can get the tri motor, large battery to be 55k before tax credit.. they'll have a homerun.

Reached out to Rivian, as an investor in the company and just plain wanting more specs on the vehicle I have suggested to them to give Kyle with Out of Spec an interview with the vehicle to give some kind of technical specs on the vehicle to his viewers. Not that I have any specific pull here but it doesn't ever hurt to just put a bug in their ear.

Not Kyle, he is a fucking smug git who scams people out of money

The only miss I see in R2 is the front trunk is manual down. Rivian has data that shows this is a highly used feature and I don't think an additional $500+/- in the price of the vehicle for a feature their owners obviously love and use all the time is going to be a deal breaker for buyers. Being manual down is definitely going to make it a less used option.

Someone will sell an aftermarket kit to make it automatic

I would say manual down is more intuitive to the average person. Almost everyone who tries to close my T hood would press down on the hood. So omitting power down makes more sense to the average person

@@chas60422 That's interesting, however that would just be a learning curve and I hardly doubt any owner of the vehicle forgets its auto down.
