These surprised me as they really do sound as flat as they advertise...have you heard these?

How do they compare against Focal clear?
Sadly to me they still sound too bassy(only slightly leser than harman) to be classified as flat. That being said they are really nice to listen to and is a much easier sell over something like the r70x that wants a powerful amp.
Yeah, I have a pair of SX4, I agree with you. These surprised me.. really good. , nicely flat... good reference for Mix
I hade their previous model, S4, in my studio. Thinking about getting the S4X and convert the old ones to closed for tracking.

Hi Streaky, I currently have the hd600s with correction software that I use for mixing. Do you think there’s enough of a difference/benefit for me to upgrade to them or do you think it would be wise to hold off? Thanks
Got these 3 days ago and absolutely love them. Im just a casual music listener - no proffessional. If the next iteration improves on the soundstage they would be god-tier headphones in my book.

I love my S4X headphones but agree the lack of low end is incredibly frustrating even with EQ.. best served with acoustic tracks on which they sound amazing
I've had mine for about a month and love them, but they are £399, not £299. I also got the hard covers to make them closed back which helps in reducing bleed through when I'm podcasting.

I had em and reviewed them. Yea the Ollo are in top under $500 but the HD650 or HD600 are superior in my opinion

I've been listening to my monitors with my open back headphones on. Get a really nice full range sound including the bottom end.

To be frank, you didn’t even mention what Audeze model you want them compared to. They are very different from eachother

I don’t own either of these headphones, but I’m pretty sure that the Ollo’s are more well suited for mixing even though the LCD Xs are the most neutral offering from Audeze.(though, some would say that the LCD-1s are better reference headphones)
But if you want them for casual music listening, the Audeze are on a whole different level, hence the pricepoint. Though, I’d *personally* recommend the cheaper LCD-2Cs for that

I was really put off these by their marketing and shilling from user/promoters...my main problem was they initially were promoted as flat headphones which didn't need any sort of software calibration. Then Sonarworks reviewed them and demonstrated they were far from flat (they are indeed similar to HD600 series well spotted Streaky-phones which are far from flat). Then their rebuttal came and they now don't promote them as flat - but apparently they are kind of flat if you take into account how our ears work....yeeeeaaah...and they produced a graph showing how flat they are compared to competitors, only they flattened the Y axis to make them all 'look' flat which was an absurd piece of theatre.
Now its possible they are good anyway, and these are decent honest people. However, that marketing really put me off. Consumer market is one thing, but I think taking the pro audio community for idiots is probably not the best crowd to do that for...

I would take Sonarworks word with a massive grain of salt here. If the Ollo's are flat out of the box Sonarworks has no business.

Sorry mate, I have to disagree. I had a pair to try for the last few days and I’ve just sent them back. They are far from being a reference headphone. Yes they look great and I found them very comfortable to wear but the low end lacks weight of any description. They don’t appear to go down very far either. The high end is missing parts too. Most definitely could not use them for mixing. Too much important information is missing. There are much more useful headphones in this price range. Grado SR 325e for instance. I’m afraid the S4x’s are more style than substance.
