This was simply a fun object lesson for the students on hoof depth. Next time our students trim a horse, they will ask themselves if they could eat cereal out of it. If they can, it might still be a tad long.
I would have loved to see you tackle the rest of his hooves. That back left still had a shoe on it. I'll bet he is much more comfortable after all of that excess was removed from his front left. Thank you.
Beautiful work 😊 Looked to me like that horse was smiling in the first head shot. I'm sure very glad to be on level standing. Great job & thanks for the info! 👍💯
I never imagined that a horse could be so smoochable! Lol....what a beautiful, sweet face on that animal. Wonderful work on that hoof. You know you've got to be good when you're able to make it look so easy...really, really nice skill to have. I wish I knew of a good school here in Southern Arizona.
Such a great job!! Looked like he was enjoying getting rid of that excess hoof, beautiful horse, thank you so much for posting, love your videos a lot, take care guys.👍💙🐎
We shoe around 20 horses daily. Between my wife filming, our 4 young kids and 25 students, it is a miracle to find time to film anything at all! Thanks for supporting our small business!
JP I agree, beautiful horse, fantastic work on it. You are so kind to the horse allowing it to rest. Bless you for everything you do for those animals.
Beautiful job. I've heard of draft horses hooves being referred to as big as dinner plates. But the bowl is a whole new meaning 😅. Thank you for sharing.
I always love watching you dig the dead material, but i get a kick(no pun intended) out of watching the horse shoe being made to fit. The smoke just looks so cool.
I go back and watch many of these videos. The variety of problems is staggering, surely many hoof problems can affect balance. Like seeing the specific care for each hoof and clearly the difference between how the horse can function simple as a horse, working, or with a rider.
I just love watching your videos, so therapeutic! This also reminded me to book my farrier for next week!! My farrier doesn't clean the frog much like you guys do, guess things are done slightly differently here in New Zealand.
The horse looks so chilled and relaxed, like he's smiling. Obviously the horses must feel relief and comfort to get their hoofs put right. But do the horses enjoy getting their hoofs trimmed?
WOW! I really enjoyed this. Glad to see that overgrowth could be taken back to a healthy angle. I'm not a horseman; just curious. What breed was that horse? Looked to have maybe some draft horse in him/her?
That was at least a year’s overgrowth that was taken off. Can I ask where these horses are from that you use in your videos please? Are they auction rescue horses? Beautiful job by the way. 🙏🏻 The horse must be so much more comfortable after that. Here in the UK, if a horse was left with feet unchecked like that, it would be classed as a neglect case. Horses aren’t considered livestock here and are protected by strict welfare laws, thankfully.
This method of triming seems much more humane than the Chinese long flat knife method. No one is twisting lips or clamping down ears or whipping the horse.
What do you mean by barefoot horse. I imagine it will not be shod - but is this unusual? I don’t own a horse but watch a lot of these videos as they’re so interesting. But I thought all horses needed shoes….
@@larrybrown6068 .... Hay, I'm just sayin. If they ever get tired of nippers, they might look at how the chisel does it. Or, another guy uses a power hand planer to whittle them down.! Don't you know the equine just love that noisy thing.!!
@@LogisticallyMisrepresented Using nippers enables the farrier to keep the correct angles and balance of the foot, by doing everything slowly and checking all the while. Just hacking at the foot shows no concern for the delicately balance structure.

Waoooo❤ excellent 👌

❤
I laughed so hard watching your intro ( eating cereal from that hoof) ....great lesson for upcoming students...brilliant..
That is a good one. Thank you so much for great videos❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
shout out to the cameraman for panning up to the horse's face - what a precious face!
Amazing how these horses behave so nicely. I'm pretty sure they know the farrier is doing them a favor.
Beautiful work 😊 Looked to me like that horse was smiling in the first head shot. I'm sure very glad to be on level standing. Great job & thanks for the info! 👍💯
Thanks!
Consistently impressed by how well-behaved the horses are that you work on. Maybe you just have really good vibes and they Get it.
How long does it take for a hoof to get that long?
probably about 8 months without a proper trim...
I never imagined that a horse could be so smoochable! Lol....what a beautiful, sweet face on that animal. Wonderful work on that hoof. You Farriers are the Horse's best friend.
I'm always fascinated by what you do. Thank you. ⭐️
Such a great job!! Looked like he was enjoying getting rid of that excess hoof, beautiful horse, thank you so much for posting, love your videos a lot, take care guys.👍💙🐎
He really was a very nice horse. Stood perfect and taught our students a great lesson
That horse could dance now. How wonderful he must feel.
That was a long hoof! Funny to see you eating cereal from it! Lovely horsey ❤ Thanks for sharing.
lol loving the intro! this is how you get studen to engage - with fun and creativity!
nice work as always
Just beautiful work. Lovely horse too. Happy to have his nails done.
My admiration of your work and the soul with which you perform, is as deep as that hoof bowl was. Bravo maestro.
It was indeed a deep bowl. Thanks for watching!
I hope you do 3 more videos of the other hooves. Loved seeing the horses face at the end.
We shoe around 20 horses daily. Between my wife filming, our 4 young kids and 25 students, it is a miracle to find time to film anything at all! Thanks for supporting our small business!
Thought I’d seen it all. A farrier who’s cuckoo for corn puffs, eating on the job!? Yum 😋
That's a fine looking immune system you've got there!😂
You got that right! Thanks for watching!
Looked like the horse was real happy with your work. 😊
Beautiful horse! Looks like a Gypsy Vanner. And I was LOLing over the Cap'n Crunch object lesson. Fantastic channel.
That horse is so chill, one wonders about his story. He looks to have had plenty of farrier time, but such long feet!
That horse will feel so much better when he or she walks. Enjoy your video's and your explanation of what your doing.👍👍
Thank you!
Outstanding work. And what a beautiful horse!
Thank you!
JP I agree, beautiful horse, fantastic work on it. You are so kind to the horse allowing it to rest. Bless you for everything you do for those animals.
Wicked satisfying trim not just for us humans but the lucky farrier dogs
Awesome job!!! Pretty looking hoof!! That horse looked like it was smiling!!! LOL
Bridge
He really was a nice horse. Thanks for watching!
Brilliant job. Chilled photogenic horse 😊
I think the horse was chuffed with your hard work😊
Super sharp tools, strong hands & know how. Best video ever.
Beautiful job. I've heard of draft horses hooves being referred to as big as dinner plates. But the bowl is a whole new meaning 😅. Thank you for sharing.
Maybe next draft horse that comes in we will get out the mashed potatoes and turkey!
I always heard of them as pancakes
Sangat praktis dan presisi❤❤
7:37 The look of love
I always love watching you dig the dead material, but i get a kick(no pun intended) out of watching the horse shoe being made to fit. The smoke just looks so cool.
I am sure we will have another shoe making video soon. Thanks for watching!
a beautiful horse who was happy to get such a good job done!
Thanks!
Love these videos. Is it possible to zoom in tighter to the hoof when you're demonstrating?
I go back and watch many of these videos. The variety of problems is staggering, surely many hoof problems can affect balance. Like seeing the specific care for each hoof and clearly the difference between how the horse can function simple as a horse, working, or with a rider.
That first cut off looks like a boomerang.
I just love watching your videos, so therapeutic! This also reminded me to book my farrier for next week!! My farrier doesn't clean the frog much like you guys do, guess things are done slightly differently here in New Zealand.
Awesome..fun and expertise!!! Stay safe all at Olsen’s ❤️🙏❤️🙏👍👍👍🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴
If you have to have breakfast ...... why not eat your cereal out of a hoof bowl!🤣🤣
I couldn't get myself to poor any milk in... Thanks for watching!
Man that horse was long!! And in great shape for as long as he was!
His hooves were in surprisingly great shape! Thanks!
Thank you enjoy watching.
Great video. You did a wonderful job. What a cute horse. Man, you are fast with those nippers. Awesome. I love your videos. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
What a sweet horse.
Beautiful work. Excellent teacher. ❤
Thank just vfc what I needed to see ! ❤ Have a great Summer !❤
Truly enjoy your beautiful work. This is really artwork with skills and muscle.
Big beautiful horse
Nice explanations and visual references. Glad it was a doable fix.
Thanks!
This was a much more vocal horse than most I've seen so far. lol
The horse looks so chilled and relaxed, like he's smiling. Obviously the horses must feel relief and comfort to get their hoofs put right. But do the horses enjoy getting their hoofs trimmed?
They have to be trained to stand still
Well that's a happy horse!
Sure is!
WOW! I really enjoyed this. Glad to see that overgrowth could be taken back to a healthy angle. I'm not a horseman; just curious. What breed was that horse? Looked to have maybe some draft horse in him/her?

Never seen a pink hoof stand before 😊
Beautiful hoof.
That’s a pretty hoof ❤
bro basically cleaned the dishes.
Now that was really satisfying to watch! That horse must feel so much better. Nice work! Great work as a matter of fact!
Thank you!
Did you take a cereal break
Beautiful job 🎉
Thanks!
Was that a tap taken out of the toe and is that part of the reason it grew so long?
The horse is smiling..lol..Great lesson
GREAT JOB -SURE WAS REALLY LONG FOR SURE 🥰🥰
Nice job but his other hooves are bad.. I hate seeing horses neglected.
I am curious. How do wild horses deal with these problems?
Wish you would record both fronts to see the difference in the way the near side grows to the offside
One was really long and one was really short and chipped up.
I hope that you were able to take care of his three other overgrown hooves
the horse face at the end : 🙂
He was a really nice horse for this video
This is beautiful
I await for the many, MANY angry/disgusted comments about seeing the first 30 seconds of the video heh
Is that a finished barefoot trim? I would like to see some barefoot trimming if you guys/gals do that. Thanks.
Yes. He doesn't need shoes. No visible problems aside from the length. They've done plenty of barefoot trims.
NICE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!! Do take care. Fl.
I would Love to see these horses 🐎 walk after they are fixed up❗️ even better gallop off hehe 🙏👍🏼🫶🏼
Wow he has to feel a lot better, he has a hairy belly , wormy !
"The Breakfast Of Champions" 🤠
Why did you not balance the foot?
Pink line on left side of frog?
Ya’ know what else needs a trim? That belly fur… 😉
super ! thank you 😃
Dude you have the EXACT SAME voice as the youtuber called “LFA”. Literally exact voice.
I think the horse was trying to say it preferred Frosted Flakes idk tho👀
A shame such a good hoof not being looked after
Смешное лицо у лошади он чуть не заснул😊
Just think, if the bowl breaks then you won’t need to buy glue to keep it together.😂
Super content.
one mellow horse
I assume you're going to trim the other 3 hooves.
No, no, just one every 6 weeks... ;-))
Beautiful
Western humor at its finest!
Haha👍👍👍
No milk?
Hey instead of just one how about showing all 4 tire changes! Do that and I'll subscribe.
You see the horse is smiling.

Nope, not all horses need shoes. But yes barefoot means no shoes. Both my horses are barefoot year-round
Where's the milk? Someone forgot to brush the belly. That's an awful lot of foot...
The guy in Mongolia
uses a sickle and broad chisel 🐴
These are farriers, the guy in Mongolia certainly isn't.
@@larrybrown6068 .... Hay, I'm just sayin.

Incidentally. "Champion" was the name of Gene Autry's horse.
disgusting but i love it 😂❤
OMG, this is a real BOWL not a hoof! 😮😮
Pretty deep bowl at that
I bet the bottom of that bowl would taste like crap...
