I think your coke issue is based on your location. Other than NYC or LA no other place in the USA would even bat an eye about it. NY and LA are their own universe, think they are better than anywhere/anyone on the planet and unless you order some sort of matcha mushroom vegan avocado spring fed sparkling water you will be a freak haha

People don’t like to drink alone. If you have a coke they feel like they shouldn’t have a “drink” and they want a drink. 😂 It’s not really about you… it’s about them. ;-)
The only thing weird about it is that people would react that way about someone's choice of soft drink! To be honest, I think that's rude & a tad disrespectful. There's nothing weird about ordering a Coke. Personally, I'm a Dr Pepper girl & would still take Pepsi over Coke, but the whole Coke/Pepsi debate shows that Coke is right up there with the popular drinks. Give Colleen a break people!

I am 54 years old and live in the Midwest. I am a Coke drinker. People never say anything in restaurants when I order one. My adult daughter doesn't drink soda except in mixers. My adult son hasn't drunk a soda in years. They get asked why they don't drink soda quite frequently. People need to mind their own and let people drink what they enjoy. 😊

I'm in Seattle, grew up in DC, and yeah, in both big cities it is a /little/ weird to order a coke with dinner, but not majorly so.
What's more weird is my preference for coke in the mornings. But in my defense, it is always a consistent amount of caffeine, and doesn't seem to cause the same diuretic and lower GI problems that coffee and tea can. Plus it's grab and go. No waiting for water to boil or cleaning glasses.
Adult woman Coke drinker here, also I completely agree about the alcohol thing, my hubby agreed that you sounded like me talking about drinking. Sure it was fun once and a while when my body was young and could recoup. I do not drink at all now. But a Coke with dinner is perfect!! I am a Cherry Coke fan, but have both in the fridge.

My mom, aunt and in-laws LOVE coke. My aunt needs one a day. If I was with someone who ordered a coke I wouldn’t think anything of it
I once ordered a ginger ale with my lunch because it sounded really nice and refreshing. I kid you not that was the hot topic of the conversation for 20 minutes. They genuinely couldn’t believe I ordered it 😭 I also ordered buffalo sauce with my chicken tenders and they were like, “who orders BUFFALO SAUCE??” I will never understand
If you come to the midwest, nobody would bat an eye at you ordering a Coke, but if you don't want to get looks then you have to call it a pop and not a soda

No, its not weird you drink Coca Cola. However, in LA people normally drink Pepsi, that I remember. I grew up is Southern California and I was a die hard Pepsi drinker. I couldn't stand Coke. Now I drink Coke and cant stand Pepsi. However, if anyone told me "you didn't even get a diet one" I would have put them in their place, sure I can order a diet one if you want to call 911 now so the ambulance is here to rush me to the emergency room from the anaphylaxis.

Okay hear me out…. My sister in law is a makeup artist and she gave me all these products for under eye and I didn’t like fall in love with anything maybe idk what I’m doing idk, then she posts on tiktok “someone tell me how to get tiktok to stop showing me the Demi makeup method as a makeup artist I hate it” …okay but that lead me to look it up…. Well let’s just say I spend like five mins after I apply my foundation (which I think your not supposed to need but I do) and I just darken the light spots of my face and lighten the dark spots and just spend another 5 mins like blending and blending and I look like a young sun kissed beauty…. It’s like the best I ever looked 😂 hey what works for some doesn’t work for others and there is truely nothing wrong with that but I think you should totally try it and show us if it helped your understanding eye situation #raccoongirlsunite

I grew up in a no soda household so aside from the occasional Sprite and Hawaiian Punch combos I would get in a food court I never drank soda. 😂 Still don't to this day. I prefer water or hot tea.

I used to have nightmares I would show up at school and not be wearing shoes I mean I know that doesn’t sound like a nightmare but it truely was I would wake up anxious about it. Well it happens to me as an adult I forgot my shoes…. To my job….. AS A HAIRSTYLIST. lol luckily someone had some dusty crusty ugg boots a size too big I had to wear all day 😂😂😂
I don't drink soda b/c I am a health nut, but just about everyone I know does. If I were going to drink a soda, it would be coke (and not diet). Now if you were drinking pepsi, I would 🤮.

I don’t drink tea or coffee, I’ve always preferred “soda”, we call it ginger here in Scotland 🏴 since having my twins 13 years ago I’ve very steadily drank more & more Pepsi Max cherry, before that it was almost exclusively Irn Bru I drank. Sadly though I think the ginger has been upsetting my insides more & more so apart from a few sips I’ve not had any fizzy juice (that the other name we give it in Scotland 🏴) 4 days 😬😬😬 honestly starting to rattle lol

I drank coke all the time through childhood up until sometime in my 20’s… and only stopped because it was affecting my stomach. But if I went out for pizza or something, I would still get a coke. You’re right… it is delicious and refreshing and sometimes I still get an urge for it. I definitely don’t understand people that judge you for it! I’m not an alcohol drinker, so if I went to a party, I would still order a coke!! And if you see an add for a place like McDonald’s, they still show cokes and other soft drinks!!

I’ve heard many people talk about how much sugar sodas have (especially my relatives in California). Most people I know drink Diet Coke. Maybe they just drink regular coke at home and not in public so they don’t get judged. Just be you Colleen. Drink whatever you want. ❤️🙏

I drink Dr Pepper but my boyfriend does not drink any soda at all bc it makes his stomach hurt so he’s like girl why you drinking a soda I was like bc if I don’t have at least one a day I will get a headache but since I’ve been living with him and he doesn’t buy soda I’ve been drinking water ode lately so my headaches are finally going away since I haven’t drank any soda since moving in with him
Hi Colleen, omg girl, we're around the same age and no judgement here!! I also dont drink alcohol or coffee either, but I love pepsi! Lol. My family members judge me, but like it's literally my taste, so I try to ignore all the haters. I have friends who always order diet pepsi, coke zero, or pepsi max, but those taste way too sweet to me, so I will always stick to my ride or die full fat pepsi despite what anyone else is doing 🤷🏽♀️😂
I like coca cola, but I have found that the normal "full sugar" leaves some sort of sticky saliva in my mouth after i drink it (most probably due to the sugar in it) but coke zero does not. And so in the rare occasion that I drink soda it is coke zero (or I guess diet coke in the states, I'm from Portugal)
I don’t think it’s weird. It’s probably an LA thing. I usually drink a diet soda or zero sugar when I do have one but that’s just because I consume sugar and stuff other ways. Tbh I don’t drink a lot of soda anyway though. I have a friend who has a diet coke with every meal even breakfast. To each their own 🤷🏼♀️

I’m on your team Colleen. I don’t drink alcohol and for no other reason other than I just don’t like how it makes me feel. I usually drink seltzer water but when I’m out, I always order a coke to treat myself. Not a diet, not a coke zero, a good old fashion Coke and I love every last drop. Lol.

Must be an LA thing. I drink soda all day. Full on soda, none of that diet or zero stuff 🤢. I'm small like you and pretty healthy. My mom, on the other hand, drinks coke zero and she's diabetic. So...drink what you want girl! Something is gonna take us out, might as well enjoy it while we're here.

UK here- I don’t get the coke thing at all. My dad drinks pretty much all coke (sugar free) and my cousin basically always drinks coke (regular) and I’ve never known anyone to comment on it. I assume it’s maybe just a big city thing
i don’t think ordering soda/coke is weird at all, but i used to order a large glass of whole milk so idk 😂 now i just get water to stay hydrated but drinking soda is very normal here in new england lol
Coca Cola is incredible. Now…I’ll often ask whether a restaurant serve Coke or Pepsi. And by god, I’ll never choose Pepsi.

My husband's a Pepsi guy and will usually get Pepsi when we're out. Everyone we go out with gets soda if we're not drinking. I think the people who commented on what you drink are weird.
I think that might be a NY/LA thing… I live near Toronto, Canada and people definitely drink less sugary drinks these days, but I’ve never heard anyone say anything about it, either!
