I was in that room last year. It was fine for me because I only slept in it. I just left it as a sofa so I could have more space and get into the closet.
Ah, nice one - good to hear from someone who’s been in it for a cruise. I don’t think I’d be happy leaving it as a sofa, as I’d prefer the bed, but totally get your view. Thanks a lot for watching and taking the time to comment!
The Studio Balcony is identical except there's a balcony. I do want to try MSC eventually but in Aurea or Yacht Club. I'm too old for sofa beds!
Ahh, I haven’t seen the solo balconies, but amazing to hear it’s the sand. P&O in the U.K. offer small solo rooms on their bigger ships, but they use a single bed so it works well!
I have a studio balcony booked for an 18 day on the Euribia next year. I’ve seen the sofa made up as a bed without being pulled out, so I’m planning on asking my steward to do that instead and leave it in that configuration (unless I get an upgrade in the meantime 😊)
I had the same setting in MSC Meraviglia Room number 9292. Coupled with the space under the bed, it can't be vacuumed. I found a lot of pills, a T shirt and some candies under it, that i couldn'tt even reach to take them out, Deck 7 and 8 right under my room is the Carousel Lounge. I could feel the speaker till 10:30pm, and it was so dusty, my allergies was off the charts. I totally agreed it's the worst cabin room in my 23 cruises, but I probably do it again if it's the only available room in a must go cruise. I came from humble beginnings, so I have seen worst. Primarily, cabin rooms are where I sleep, shower, and change . Everything I came on the ship for is outside the room
What a great comment - so interesting! I actually just booked an 11-night cruise in this cabin. It was a really great deal for the price I paid, and I figure I'm only ever gonna be in the cabin to sleep anyway, so it'll be plenty for me.
I think it’ll be fine if you’re expecting it - my experience was really disappointing as I had no idea it was coming. I also didn’t get a bargain, so that would’ve softened it too if I had! Have the best trip!
So unfortunately, I have this type of room booked on the Meraviglia in 2 weeks and too late to change. I am older and overweight with a bad back and neck, so this is making me nervous. I don't care about the size of the room, or where it is located, but a thin mattress like that is making me very, very nervous. I am considering asking them to keep it as a couch and bring a mattress topper. Does anyone who has actually been in the room know if that would work? They told me $500 to upgrade and get a "real" bed.
Yeah, this is exactly why I wanted to post this video - I’d strongly consider upgrading to be honest. It baffles me how this is being sold as a room, but I guess they’ll keep selling it if people keep booking it… I hope they change the sofa and just have a single bed in there - it would be so much better! I agree - this room is great if the kids are staying in it, but it shouldn’t be sold as a solo cabin for an adult. I don’t think it should be sold on its own - should be part of next door 😊 Thanks for watching!
You must have been at the bow of the ship. I was in the exact same cabin layout in room 10380, at the stern. We both have the same concerns about this configuration. Simply changing the closet doors to accordion style doors would fix one problem. What is really needed is a way to make the bed comfortable - but not as a convertible bed. Instead, a pullman style bed should drop down from the ceiling, making it easy to convert the room between its two purposes. What did you think about the cruise itself?
Good idea to have a pull down - I hadn’t even thought of that! The cruise itself was ok - my vlogs will show more in a few months - it was littered with operational issues if I’m honest… How about you - enjoy it?

MSC does give good value for money spent. But then do enough things "wrong" that make me prefer sailing on Princess and NCL on similar routes.
I was concerned about realizing it had two adjoining doors, so really not for a solo traveller, but for a traveller with others who wants their own room. This compared to the studio on NCL full of similar people taking the space away from true solo travellers, but that’s a different issues. I usually simply sleep, and change occasionally during the day, in my room so the size isn’t my issues comparing the videos about the solo cabins with this style bed, vs non connecting which seem to have ‘real’ beds, the usefulness of the space. Now I’ve camped a lot so can make do with much smaller spaces, but don’t want to, even for the price I’m paying, which still isn’t cheep.
Just booked this cabin for myself November 24th 2024 to Bahamas. I think i will be fine Im very petite. I cruised the Meraviglia last year twice on a balcony room myself and it was very large.
Thanks for this video ! I literally was going to book this room for my dad last week and changed my mind and paid the extra $170 for a standard cabin 😅whewww I would have never heard the last of it if he had to sleep on a sofabed for a week ! No shame or shade to anyone who prefers this type of room by any means 😊
Ha, what a funny comment - I can imagine booking this for my Dad - he’d probably disown me, haha! Thanks a lot for watching and supporting my little channel!
I dont mind these too much when MSC sell them with zero single supplement. Seen people travel on these for 14 nights for less that £1200/$1500 with the drinks package included... and the sofa beds are pretty dam comfortable as well
Yeah, I can understand that. Sadly I paid more or less what I’ve paid for every other of my cruises this year, so I didn’t see a massive cost saving personally 😔
Looks small. Like you say for a long period of time not suitable for purpose. I think I would have been tempted to just sleep on the Sofa. Was just looking at MSC studio cabins as was thinking about booking one for 2026.
It would depend on the cruise and the price. I don't spend much time in my cabin normally but that one is a closet. I wouldn't be happy stuck in there. One more negative about MSC.
Yeah, I was so surprised at how small it was. To be honest, I agree with you - I also don’t spend much time in there. However, this one is too small in my mind! Thanks for watching and thanks for taking the time to comment!
You purchased the cheapest, worst, crappiest, cabin on the ship and then have the balls to complain about it??? You could have gotten an outside stateroom for another couple of hundred bucks: -0 Book CHEAP & get CHEAP!
You do get what you pay for. But honestly I think that's actually a decent I think if you made enough of a sink they might give you a mattress pad or something to make the bed more comfortable. But you get a sitting area and a nice open area that expense of the bed I'll see you not in there that long. But it's true you get what you pay for
Yeah, I wasn’t entertaining this for my 10 nights on a cold cruise, as I enjoy spending time in the cabin on them. I do agree though re getting what you pay for. Thanks for watching 😊
I do agree to be fair - glad to have seen it to warn people. With being on so many ships, I had to apply the ‘it’ll be ok’ principle to one or two - this time, that backfired!
I have learned so much from your videos.. my worry is with WiFi with the promotion they have.. I work from home so I know I’ll need more than what they offer
So you paid the cheapest price possible and got the worst room? Not ideal I agree but MSC are a good value cruise line generally, and it only cost you £150 to upgrade hardly breaking the bank. Have a good time anyway beats the rat race here. However as we speak just waiting for the taxi to 101 to do Euribia :)
@@FraserAtSea omg no! 😲 I would demand a new one or at least a different bed lol, maybe in America a fold out is considered a bed but in my country Netherlands it's not considered a bed and it's necessary to write it in a description. Did you sleep well though?
Thank god for your video.Met you in March booked Virtuosa same cruise next March same itinerary as we did in a single that your discribing .It's not happening cheers pal hope your keeping well
Some of the Virtuosa singles are much better, so worth checking what you’re in. My solo cabin on there before had a full size bed, and was a nice cabin design!
I agree .... worst cabin ever... for an adult... LOL looks like a cabin for a teen traveling with their parents in one of the adjoining cabins... nope i dont think a hide-a-bed would be acceptable for me...
Ha, this is such a funny point - I’d have loved this as a teenager. All I can think of now is how much pain my back would be in by the end of the cruise with that bed, ha. When did I get old?!?
If the mattress were to be a memory foam mattress, it might not be that uncomfortable... i don't think functionally it's possible to go back to sofa mode though...
I would have walked out immediately. False representation [not as advertised]. I would hotfoot it down to Reception if I were you and kick up an almighty fuss. But knowing MSC Customer service as I do ..... don't hold your breath for a positive outcome. The whole thing is disgraceful, at the very least you should get a massive discount. Good Luck [I certainly will never book this Ship].
@@FraserAtSea Doesn't matter if you paid $100 or $10000. If you booked and paid for a single bed cabin you got what you paid for. The price is irrelevant.
Oh my, there has to the one 😀. I’ll be fine with it. Only because I would sleep on the couch - no bed to be made up -👍 Enjoy ur’ day , Happy Thanksgiving Day here in the states 🦃
Hey, Happy Thanksgiving to you too Shawn - thanks so much! I think that, had I kept the room, I’d have opted to sleep on the sofa too just to get a bit of floor space! Thanks for being here!
@@FraserAtSea yes, always checking in - Enjoy your travels - ur’ living my dream 😀. At least I’m usually planning a voyage - a great Fam cruise to Mexico in January ! - Wife and I planning Japan in March which is sorely needed to celebrate a life of a loved one no longer with us . - and the Sun Princess in 2024 with Ma’ - gotta go on that one 4 sure - 😁
@FraserAtSea I would tell them I'd take a leftover crew cabin to that. I sailed on the MSC Seashore in the summer. It was absolutely not my style at all, and it would take a lot to get me back on an MSC ship. But one advantage it did have was that the balcony cabin (the balcony being a rare choice for me) was beautiful. 10 days on that spinecracker?? My thoughts and prayers go with you.
Guess what, Fraser, now that you've shown this, the answer is never, ever ! Stayed in all types of cabins from MSC from insides to balconies to YC deluxe suites, and for me, some floor space is king ! That room with the double sofa bed down hasn't any floor space ! Next rejection point for me in adjoining cabin doors ! Just no ! 😮😦😬
Yeah, I’ve never seen such a tight room before - seemed mad - where do I put my suitcase?! Also, the adjoining factor on BOTH sides is something I’ve never seen before - I could hear every word of my neighbours conversation - very odd!!
The studio cabin is in the middle of 2 large family Oceanview cabins . It’s great for extra space and bathroom for a large family or a family with an extra adult traveling for privacy. It was only like 200 more to move an adult from the big room to the studio and that is worth that extra bathroom.
I had one of those studio solo cabins (10252) on Meraviglia in 2019 and I loved it but when my sofa when made up it was a single bed and the head of it was below the virtual screen. Yes it was the smallest cabin I have had in all my 42 cruises but I had everything in it so I was happy. It looks like they may have changed the type of sofa bed they used back then as mine was nothing like yours.
Ah, the fact it was a single is interesting - I’d have been much happier with that actually. Thanks for watching, and also thanks for leaving this comment - so interesting!
We had the same type of cabin with a balcony on this ship. Was totally annoyed and ship was completely full so we were stuck like Chuck! Came home and demanded compensation, MSC honored the request and gave a full refund to use as a FCC (Future Cruise Credit).
What a shame. I had actually been looking at one of these cabins as a serious choice, well I can see that it really wouldn't work well for me either. Not sure how MSC could reconfigure the room going further to make these more comfortable, or even if it is a consideration for them. Hope you are able to thoroughly enjoy the cruise in spite of the the room, or maybe you'll get relocated, as I hold MSC in pretty high respect. All the best!! Bruce and Otis
Hey, glad I could show you to avoid you seeing it for yourself! I did get moved, but had to pay $18 per day to ‘upgrade’ into an inside cabin 😂 🤦🏻♂️ Thanks for watching!!
OMG - what were MSC thinking! Why have the sofa at all, it's useless who would want to just sit in there. A single (twin) fixed bed would be so much better maybe with large drawers and luggage storage underneath - something like the Hub hotels have.
Totally agree - I love Hub rooms for London stays - that’s exactly what they should be modelling against. I guess the sofa is for when the room is booked to use as an extra room if it’s a family, but still mad!
I was waiting for this video buddy....as you know I had a completely different solo studio with a full size bed, these are located in the midship inside....these ones are DEFINITELY family addon cabins that they've decided to utilise and make a quick buck from.
Good comment for context - appreciate not all of these rooms are the same. My review’s for sure just a review of this one specific room, rather than the whole type! Great to see your name pop up - hope you’re well!
@FraserAtSea I just got off the Meraviglia on Sunday. If I'd gotten that cabin, I would have been so angry! Thanks for sharing. Your videos are awesome.
I'd struggle with that bed. The metal bar around the edge makes it uncomfortable to sit on the side of the bed. I'd have to upgrade to a dearer cabin of one was available. Its deffo not fit for purpose if the wardrobe and draws can't be accessed 24/7.
Francine, hey! So good to see your name pop up! I’m still on Rotterdam, then will leave here December 3rd for the next instalment… Hope you guys got home safely?!
A question? did you book the cabin yourself or not? If so you could see in advance what the cabin looked inside. Yes there are cabins with a sofa/bed combination.
We (family of 5), had one of these and the adjoining one shortly after Meraviglia first sailed. They were sold as Super Family cabins. The set up next door doesn’t work either as there is a single bed that makes the adjoining door impossible to open. Clearly a design flaw.
Ah, this is such an interesting perspective - thanks for leaving this comment, Michelle! How funny that the other room also doesn’t work - odd when MSC have been designing ships and cabins for years…!!
Hi Fraser, Thanks for sharing the link on our MSC page though the link photo is missing, I agree with you that it should not be sold as a single person cabin unless it is half the price of an Inside cabin. The Meraviglia class is not our favourite having sailed on this one and Virtuosa and apart from the World Europa we have sailed on all their classes of ships. Our Aurea Suite which was on the front Port side on Meraviglia also suffered from poor design ideas in the living space with regard to the size of the desktop area being far too small considering the length of wall it was on, also the door to the bedroom was in the wrong place making access to the side of the bed awkward, those were the two main stand out features in that cabin. It does appear that either MSC failed to spot the issue of the wardrobe and bed in your cabin or like many issues with them they just did not care. The best Aurea cabin we have had was a Suite on the back of Seaside overlooking the Aft pool, now those had plenty of thought put into them with regards space.
Hey Dave, great to see your name pop up - thanks for watching, and taking the time to comment! The most disappointing thing about a few comments on this video is the realisation that the overlooks on a few design elements seem to be in far more rooms than just this one. That suite you mention overlooking the aft sounds absolutely stunning! I bet you could open your wardrobe in there… Ha!
thank you for sharing this Fraser. I would definitely not be able to stay in this cabin!! Have they ever heard of a thing called claustrophobia...it is real!! I want to do some cruises so I hope I can get better accommodation at good prices. I have never sailed before and would like to do what you are doing but it sounds like an organising nightmare. Hope you enjoy your cruise despite that cabin!!!
Yeah, a tricky one for sure! Ah, great to hear you’d consider this lifestyle. I can confirm if was tricky to organise - I’m actually planning a video talking about the organisation element - hopefully you’ll find that interesting!
Thanks Fraser. As a matter of principle, I never sail or look at sailing in so called "solo" cabins. The hype about being cheaper is almost always just " marketing" I have found them to be much more expensive than looking for last minute deals in a standard cabin &, at least on NCL ships, the rooms are claustrophobic- you have to get into bed from the end as there is not enough room to move around the bed- I could not sail in them at any price & prefer to book last minute. I have sailed with MSC many times- always in a standard cabin at often, very competitive pricing.. Thanks so much for the heads up! PS I would love to emulate what you are doing but so far, found it way to difficult to organise..Good luck with your goal!
Hi Rob, thanks so much for this comment and for watching! Some good points here - solo cabins can often be pricey as they usually operate on a ‘supply and demand’ basis, so the more rooms that sell, the more expensive they become. Good luck with your future plans - keep me posted - hopefully see you onboard at some point!
If it was just a standard single bed, I think the room would be just fine for a solo. Sofa beds just aren’t comfortable and then not being able to access your closet or use your desk when the bed is made would be a deal breaker for me.
I totally agree - my argument with this room is that it should just be a single bed - I don’t understand why they make it as a double… Thanks for watching, and taking the time to comment!!
Depending on the worker, nope. There would be two in a room that size. I’ve seen them in the modern ships, and my dad worked on an older one…without air conditioning.
I feel sorry for the one who has to make up that room. Bed up. Bed down. When I first saw you mention it i directly checked the Dutch msc site and i thought I found the room and it did had a warning about the bed… but now I can’t find that anymore. But no. As a solo traveler I would not accept this one..
Yeah, my travel agent and I checked the U.K. site as soon as I boarded, and no mention. I couldn’t believe it - so much work for the poor cabin steward constantly making it up and down…
I had the same cabin on MSC Meraviglia but in the aft....It was the worse interior room experience also with all of the cruises I have taken and I was not expecting to be sleeping on a sofa bed and you couldn't even open up the closet when it was made into a bed. Never again... I've been on Meravigila again but kept away from this type of cabin.
Hey Kathy, thanks for leaving this comment! Totally agree with your points - if I did cruise on here again, I’d be staying well clear of this cabin type!
U are way too high maintenance. Yes, it's not the best lay out. However, MSC is the ONLY cruise line giving solo travelers a good discount on U.S. savings. So quit the whining and get over it. U are the only one in the cabin, so just go and have a good time.😮
I'll be honest, I don't see much wrong with it. The worst thing for me personally is that it's an inside cabin, as the lack of a window bothers me. I did it once, never again. But other than that, it's got a bed, it's got a bathroom, it's got space for your clothes. What more do you need
@@FraserAtSea just teasing. Looking forward to your take on it as it's a pleasure to watch folk I love watching put themselves through that experience, and your title kinda hints at which way it went for you Fraser! Need something to cheer up these bloomin' dark nights.
I stayed in a Studio on the Meraviglia in 2020. It was not one of the family suit/conversion. I loved the room, even if the bed situation was the worst part due to it being a single bed and me being 6'7, but it did give the room more space. I had no issue with my studio interior, but have heard that those family suite single studios were bad
This is interesting! For sure, I’d have preferred a single bed. I asked the cabin steward here if I could just have it as a single, but he said it’s got to be a double, which was frustrating!
At the end of the day what you pay is what you get! I also cruise solo but always book a balcony cabin which is for 2 so I pay double the price for the luxury.
I have always heard very bad things about MSC. I have not booked them for that reason. Sounds like MSC is deceptive. Some say it is worse than Carnival.
I think they’re more different to Carnival than some think. Their ships are beautiful, but they seem to be evolving in a direction I’m not loving right now… Thanks so much for watching, and taking the time to comment!
I'm actually cruising in one of these next March, so this is helpful! I'm going to stick with it, unless I win an upgrade bid for balcony, because checking out these sorts of solo cabins is what I do for clients. I'm curious about the couch - how was it? I had a solo interior cabin on Royal Caribbean Ovation of the Seas and the thing I missed the most was having a couch to lounge on.
Ah, nice - hopefully my channel also can help with your clients! So I upgraded out of this room for $18 per day, so can’t rate the furniture when it was set up as a sofa, apologies. Come back and let me know how it goes for you!
I’ve been wondering about any potential lounging in cabin. I don’t do much. I did more when I got an inexpensive upgrade to a balcony, felt I needed to use it more, but when I had an inside, chesterfield was more where I dropped my bag.

Ahh, what a luxury having a balcony to yourself! Don’t worry - if you know what to expect in here, I’m sure you’ll be fine. Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for the heads up on this hideous cabin.I definitely will put this cabin on my no go zone!
You’re welcome - glad to be of help! My vlogs from this cruise are going to be interesting - I’ll tell you that much for now… Ha!
Yeah, it’s odd - I don’t want to pay much if I’m sleeping on a sofa - smallest room I’ve ever seen on a cruise ship!
Whats the problem. Haven't you ever slept on a sofa before. I'm doing it in May 2024 and it will be my 4th cruise this year. Bon Voyage....
I just didn’t expect it to be a sofa, and this was an expensive 10-night cruise for me. Have a great trip!
🥱 😂
You do get what you pay for. But honestly I think that's actually a decent I think if you made enough of a sink they might give you a mattress pad or something to make the bed more comfortable. But you get a sitting area and a nice open area that expense of the bed I'll see you not in there that long. But it's true you get what you pay for
Yeah, I wasn’t entertaining this for my 10 nights on a cold cruise, as I enjoy spending time in the cabin on them. I do agree though re getting what you pay for.
Thanks for watching 😊
Good grief, I get that this was the cabin you paid for but it’s hardly fit for use, well done on getting sorted.
Oh, I totally agree - I still can’t believe this is a cabin they’re selling. Thanks very much for watching - I appreciate it!
So , you should start with the price that you paid for this MSC Cruise cabin ! Then cry out your video !!
Price out of the equation, I’d always want a real bed in a cabin, ha! Thanks for watching!
As the seasoned cruiser that you are you should have known about this before hand.
I do agree to be fair - glad to have seen it to warn people. With being on so many ships, I had to apply the ‘it’ll be ok’ principle to one or two - this time, that backfired!
Good grief. What will MSC do next to steal people's money. Horrid "room" and cruise line.
Before this cruise, I’ve been a big advocate - a bad cabin, for sure!
Still can’t believe this cabin, I think it’s the worst I’ve seen 😱
You and I both, ha. Not sure what the thought process was when designing this one…
Awful cabin and to be fair I wouldnt sail with MSC ever again regardless. The pillows need to be the other end of the 'bed' as well lol
Yeah, I agree about the pillows - weird decisions all round in here, ha!
Did it save you much money? There should be much better cabins available for single cruisers.
Not really - I still paid more than 1 person in an inside cabin as part of a couple, so this room still had a solo supplement 🤦🏻♂️
Wow that is horrible. they've saved a few dollars, and lose a customer for life. not the best business model
Yeah, the perfect definition of ‘scrimping’…
I think this cabin is a solo. I would never pay a solo rate rate for this cabin.
You’re right - it is a solo cabin, so will have a supplement attached. I couldn’t believe it!
There is a wide choice of cabins. You book this. It was YOUR choice.
Agreed, it was my choice, but it wasn’t clear there would be no bed in the room.
No way
😂 👎🏼
I would ask for a refund, that isnt acceptable!
Oh, I agree!
I would stay here. I don't really spend a lot of time in my room.
😊
Nope, I couldn't stay in a cabin like that! Way too small.
Yeah, I know that feeling after being in it! Haha
i lovvvve your accent and your videos.. Going on the World America Oct 2025
Thanks so much - hopefully you’ll find lots of interest on here for your trip! :)
I have learned so much from your videos.. my worry is with WiFi with the promotion they have.. I work from home so I know I’ll need more than what they offer
no!! is terrible!!
Hey, I agree, but still paid a 4-figure sum for a room without a bed, ha. Thanks for watching!
@@FraserAtSea !! ahhh that’s a lot more than I expected, then 100% agree that stateroom is unacceptable.
I would never book this cabin, terrible 🧐😠
I wouldn’t again…!
I hope you made them change cabins after filming.. I wouldnt stay there really, its not even a bed!
I paid to ‘upgrade’ to an inside cabin… 🤦🏻♂️
@@tamiw1903 totally agree!
its fine for one person - if the price is right.
Agreed - IF the price is right!
Yeah, the final outcome was me paying $18 to upgrade into an Inside cabin 😂 🤦🏻♂️
Hi is the buffet food salty?
I didn’t have any issues :)
So he got what he paid for. I'm not seeing the issue with it.
You don’t know how much I paid?
You are right, this is a bad cabin
😐
Having been on 2 other cruises p&0 and princess you realise how bad MSC awful awful cruise line
Thanks for watching! I do like MSC overall, but was shocked to find this cabin!
1 step in... and I was speechless.
When my vocal chords got over the shock, it was, "no s***!"
Wow!
Yeah, sounds like you had a similar reaction to me, but I was standing physically in the room - I’ve never been more deflated checking out my cabin!
That's ridiculous
I agree!
Yikes
I know, right?!
Ya get what you pay for.
😂 😩
That is awful!
I agree!
No thank you
Same…
Thanks for this review. I would definitely choose another cabin.
Thanks for watching!!
Just no !
Totally agree!
Guess what, Fraser, now that you've shown this, the answer is never, ever ! Stayed in all types of cabins from MSC from insides to balconies to YC deluxe suites, and for me,
some floor space is king !
Im glad you informed us. Why didnt they just give you a twin bed instead of a sofa bed. That doesnt make sense. I would upgrade
I bring understand why it’s a sofa bed and not a bed - many strange design decisions in this one…! Thanks for watching, as always!!
The studio cabin is in the middle of 2 large family Oceanview cabins . It’s great for extra space and bathroom for a large family or a family with an extra adult traveling for privacy. It was only like 200 more to move an adult from the big room to the studio and that is worth that extra bathroom.
Yeah, it seems like a great add on, but not a primary cabin. Thanks for commenting!
Thanks for this. Level with me, does that bed have a bar that will impact my sleep?
I wish it was just a single bed haha 😂
It sure does - it was THIN, haha! I wouldn’t recommend this room…
@@FraserAtSea haha 😊 I’m debating it as I just need to sleep but I care about my back. I like that it joins rooms with my family
I had a real bed in my solo studio. Best interior room I've booked, especially with the outdoor monitor.
We had the same type of cabin with a balcony on this ship. Was totally annoyed and ship was completely full so we were stuck like Chuck! Came home and demanded compensation, MSC honored the request and gave a full refund to use as a FCC (Future Cruise Credit).
Wow - I can’t believe you got a full refund as a cruise credit, and I also can’t believe this room type had a balcony - that must’ve been so weird!
Well, you did book it before doing your homework.
There are plenty of online sites that have photos of cabins.
Yeah, I usually do - just didn’t on this occasion - oops!
I did get moved, but had to pay $18 per day to ‘upgrade’ into an inside cabin 😂 🤦🏻♂️
Thanks for watching!!
It was not a good idea for them to sell you this room. Unless it was really cheap!
@@kimberlycruises6850 I completely agree. The price of this cruise was about what I’d expect to pay for MSC, so certainly not a ‘bargain’!
@FraserAtSea I just got off the Meraviglia on Sunday. If I'd gotten that cabin, I would have been so angry! Thanks for sharing. Your videos are awesome.
@@kimberlycruises6850 thanks so much for being here - hope you enjoyed your cruise, Kimberly!
I'd struggle with that bed. The metal bar around the edge makes it uncomfortable to sit on the side of the bed. I'd have to upgrade to a dearer cabin of one was available. Its deffo not fit for purpose if the wardrobe and draws can't be accessed 24/7.
Yeah, we’re in total agreement, which is good. Hopefully they’ll make a few tweaks in here! 🤞🏼
Wow, big NO! Yikes, great meeting you Fraser - what’s next on your itinerary? Are you staying aboard the Rotterdam for the next leg? Cheers!
Francine, hey! So good to see your name pop up! I’m still on Rotterdam, then will leave here December 3rd for the next instalment…
Hope you guys got home safely?!
What an awful room. Will they move you to another room
So I did move room, but unfortunately had to pay $18 per night to ‘upgrade’ to an Inside cabin 😂 🤦🏻♂️
Never! 2 adjoining rooms, closet sized and a pull out sofa!! They should forewarn people.
Yeah, I was so surprised that this is a cabin. Forewarn, or have this room offered VERY cheap!
A question? did you book the cabin yourself or not? If so you could see in advance what the cabin looked inside. Yes there are cabins with a sofa/bed combination.
I did actually - I should’ve known better, but I assumed it would be ok - you live and learn, I guess…!
Never ever would I stay in that cabin 😖 My claustrophobia would not allow it! No Way!
I love inside cabins but, to be honest, this one would be a bit of a squeeze even for me!
I think a pullman bed would have been better! Have the sofa below and the bed above.
Totally agree - there’s a few furniture options that would work so much better, and could actually serve as a really clever use of space!
Wow I can not believe they thought that would be appropriate the workers probably have a better room than that.
Ha, my thoughts too!!
Depending on the worker, nope. There would be two in a room that size. I’ve seen them in the modern ships, and my dad worked on an older one…without air conditioning.
We were on this ship in September. A first and last for us.
Sorry to hear that!
I couldn’t believe it - so much work for the poor cabin steward constantly making it up and down…
Nothing about the bed was mentioned when I booked mine, but did start to wonder when I saw that it had two connecting doors.
Was this the cruise from
The last week of October? I think I was on that one
Just before - I was on Mid October!
Ah, we got on the 24th or 25th for a NE cruise . Let’s just say I hope you had a better experience than we did haha
U are the only one in the cabin, so just go and have a good time.😮
Thanks for your comment - entitled to your own opinion. Have a great day!
I'll be honest, I don't see much wrong with it. The worst thing for me personally is that it's an inside cabin, as the lack of a window bothers me. I did it once, never again.
But other than that, it's got a bed, it's got a bathroom, it's got space for your clothes. What more do you need
Fair point - I just expected an actual bed - not a sofa. Thanks for watching!
Shocking!
Agreed! 😩
Thanks!

Never in a million years!!!
you get what you pay for....just sayin
I stayed in a Studio on the Meraviglia in 2020. It was not one of the family suit/conversion. I loved the room, even if the bed situation was the worst part due to it being a single bed and me being 6'7, but it did give the room more space. I had no issue with my studio interior, but have heard that those family suite single studios were bad
This is interesting! For sure, I’d have preferred a single bed. I asked the cabin steward here if I could just have it as a single, but he said it’s got to be a double, which was frustrating!
Also, thanks so much for watching!
At the end of the day what you pay is what you get! I also cruise solo but always book a balcony cabin which is for 2 so I pay double the price for the luxury.
You get what you pay for.
Yikes! That's awful!! Can you imagine booking that for your very first cruise?! 😲😲😲
Oh, it would totally put me off 😂
MSC = "Smoke 'n Mirrors" in every sense of the phrase.
I didn’t see that before, but worry I maybe do now…!
@@FraserAtSea Did you just go to the guest services and ask if you can upgrade? I guess you got lucky that they had some vacant ones. :D
I’ve been wondering about any potential lounging in cabin. I don’t do much. I did more when I got an inexpensive upgrade to a balcony, felt I needed to use it more, but when I had an inside, chesterfield was more where I dropped my bag.
