Hey mate! Thank you so much for another awesome review of yours! It means a lot to us here at Craft that one of the models we offer does so well next to this popular model by Galco. I'm glad you appreciate we're doing our best to deliver quality similar (or better) to this holster giant. Can't wait to watch more of your stuff! Regards, Al.

I just got my craft shoulder holster in yesterday. At the moment it has the gun in it , in a bag to set the shape. But i notice this guys holster has retention screws and the snap behind the gun seems more maneuverable. Is this because he has a glock and i have a Springfield xd service model ? The craft feels great when i wear it. It is strong material, feels great. Just curious about this adjustable retention, and if maybe i ordered the wrong option from craft. Thanks

@@tjcosta0704 Hey sir! First of all, thank you for your kind words regarding our holsters :) I really appreciate it. I also hope you won't have any problem with the break-in and that you'll be able to start using the holster in no time. Now when it comes to the retention screws, they can always be tightened a bit, just in case you feel like they're a bit too loose (if you mean the ones under the muzzle). If you feel like your safety strap isn't easy to manipulate, I suggest running it through a bit of break-in too. Just apply a bit of denatured alcohol on the strap and try to stretch it a bit. And if by any chance the snapping buttons feel loose and there's very little effort needed to undo them, let me know. I'll prompt my colleagues to reach out to you. Regards, Al

I have purchased several OWB holsters from Craft and have been very happy with the fit and finish. Sometimes it takes awhile for them to be built and shipped to the states, but IMO it is worth the wait.

I was just about to order the Galco holster and then I saw your video. I appreciate your comprehensive (and succinct) review. I just placed an order for the Craft holster due to your powers of persuasion! It doesn't look like I'll be disappointed. Thanks buddy!

I have bought both Craft and Galco shoulder holsters myself. I used to drive uber, I wanted a way to conceal that was comfortable in a car, and didn't risk exposing the gun to passengers.
Both were high quality and wore well, I couldn't find a complaint with either. The Galco seemed to be most sturdy and comfortable riding up high, almost right in my arm pit. The downside was it was a bit uncomfortable if my rig shifted around w/ movement. The Craft Vertical Holster rode best low, with the strap connecting to a belt. If I adjusted it higher, it seemed to slap against my side often with movement, which got annoying.
Both will serve you well. I've never been made wearing one, but then again, I was either in a seated position when meeting people, or wearing heavy jackets in the dead of winter. if i tried summer carry, I could see the straps protrude through the thin fabric of my clothing for both holsters, but that's my own wardrobe problems.

Hey that is a great honest review!! The Craft holster should have came with a strap to connect it to your belt to keep it from hitting against your side. The Galco you have to pay extra for the strap. You ought to make a review video with that information that you just expressed. A lot of people look for review videos when searching for a particular product. If you ever make one let me know, Id love to see it!

I have the Miami Classic II, better shoulder harness design (than the original Miami Classic). But it comes with plastic buttons for securing the straps and a rubber backplate that works but that I'm not crazy about. It's a very comfortable rig, but I do like the Craft version better I think..except for the orientation of the magazine pouches.
I prefer a horizontal orientation myself, but I do like the adjustable retention flaps. Wish I had found Craft before I ordered my MCII.... I'll have to try one for my Sig. Thanks for helping me discover another quality company.

Thanks great review. Having never owned a shoulder holster I am currently looking to purchase one. And yes down to Craft vs Galco. Aside everything you said what about comfort? I hear from many sources that once you put the on Galco it is extremely comfortable, one even forgets it is on. The shoulder straps on the Craft are much wider, not that it matters or maybe it does. So what about comfort???

Good review! I had the Craft system and the Galco tabs open on my screen, trying to decide which would be best for my CZ P01. I believe I will go with the Craft. Besides, the Galco requires a custom order for my pistol. Although the Craft will have to be custom ordered for a bigger size than normal. I also like that the Craft holster can also be worn OWB on the belt.

I snagged a couple of my 1st ever Galco shoulder systems for 15$ each week ago. Used but both look like new. One says Jackass on all connect points. Other is unmarked orher than Galco on the back. I THINK it's a Miami Classic. Metal screws etc. Crappy thing is, they both hold my handgun fine, but the Jackass won't hold my mags. Wont snap shut. Sig P226. I have no use for it. :/ Trade or maybe swap out mag holders for proper one. But for $30.00? I couldnt imagine they ran 200$+. I'm not complaining. Like the vid.

Good video but I'd have to disagree that Craft is the better holster.
#1, One critical thing that I saw in the video that would be a no go on the craft is they don't make the holster with room for your finger to fully get a great grip on the gun as crafts leather goes all the way back against the grip when the Galco does not.
#2, you can order the Galco with same type of Harness as the Craft.
#3, I have a thick and thin harness from Galco and neither is a mess, you have two options, adjust holster properly and trim extra length of leather or the method that I do is to adjust holster then put the screw at end of the extra length of leather and you have zero mess with only 4 screws with no cutting of leather.
I'd rather pay more for quality and detail in craftsmanship.

Keep in mind this Craft shoulder holster is does not represent their entire line of shoulder holsters or level of quality. ( I have both holster brands in the shoulder iteration. )
My Craft is a single ( no mag pouches ) horizontal for a Beretta 85 BB.
It’s single stitched and has the same flappy shoulder strap as the Galco…….which is not an issue if properly assembled.
The leather is nothing special, grade-wise.
Galco often uses a suede finish on some of their holsters that isn’t as flashy or wide as this particular Craft model, but rest assured, they are extremely comfortable……and take comfort over flash anytime.
Since I only have experience with one Craft holster, I’m going to withhold any further judgement with this brand.
I own 4 Galco shoulder holsters, 2 Bianchi’s and 4 Diamond D Alaskan chest holsters.
All are 5 star as far as far as my experience has been.
There are a lot of good…..and great…..holster makers out there.
Take your time and look around……and ask those that have them.

You can where your shoulder holsters the way you want but I have found that having the back plate that high up can cause the shoulder rig to rotate more easily clockwise making the back plate move further up toward the neck. Depending on the gun and total weight having the back plate lower and more between the shoulder blades should help distribute the weight better. Your using the problem of the Galco holster straps being a so called mess in your opinion as basically points against it which makes absolutely no sense. There is no reason to even have that much excess strap left over and at the very least after a few weeks of wearing it and finalizing fitment should be cut off either right after the hole where you have the screw put in or just after the next hole in case you need to make an adjustment at some point. Either way buying extra Chicago screws to do what you did is surely not needed, and isn't a reasonable reason to use against Galco.
