Hello. No, I dont think we have special problems with desease in wild Salmon stocks in Denmark. In River Storaa the restocking program stopped in april 2017. 4.000 - 6.000 Salmon enter the River each year to spawn.
I can see one salmon with some spots on its top of head and rest of its body. That's why I'm asking. UDN is a serious problem for Seatrout and Salmon in our rivers in northern Poland and as far as I know in whole Baltic basin. I think you all did absolutely fantastic job in River Storaa over last 15-20 years. I'm realy impressed of number of wild Salmon coming back to quite small River Storaa. Salmon restoration in Poland in my opinion went completely wrong 30 years ago. Currently there is only one River (Słupia) in Poland with productive spawnig Salmon population. Estimated number of Salmon spawners enter the River Słupia is about 100 -200. I would like to change it in the future. Do you mind if I e-mail you one day with some questions about Salmon restoration in River Stora?
@@wojciechsobiegraj2191 It is fungal unfection and you see it very often in the spawning period. Some of the damage can be related to bad handling in catch and release fishing. You are welcome to contact me by mail. In my opinion the progress in salmonpopulation in River Storaa is linked to the total removal of barriers farming rainbowtrouts the oldfasion way and also more clean production in fishfarming - now the Rivers/streams are running with clean water. This work and the restauration of 27.000 m2 spawning grounds with gravel only inside Holstebro Municipality are the key to the succes and the reason we could stop salmon restocking effort in 2017 (20.000 stocked 1 year old salmons the years before and earlier higher numbers). Now I think we see a population that peaked 2016-2017 and now find a new level not as high. Remember that the restauration with gravel 20-60 mm are most effective the first years and after that Salmon move the gravel and some of it lose potential - the effective spawning area become smaller again. Thats what we see now in Storaa I suppose.
Hello. Have you got a problem with spawners disease (UDN)?
