Thanks for being honest. Many youtubers are holding back saying anything bad to fear of retaliation from Beyoncé fans. Thats why I continue to be a fan of the channel
As a Beyoncé fan I’ll never watch this show again! 😂
@@RobGuy199 Who cares!
These celebrities will do anything for money
Who gives two shits about Beyonce fans. We are here to hear the thoughts of these two gentleman.
Thanks for taking one for the Team, but these are the kind of reviews i look forward too! Not trashing the product.. but saving me $80+ I havent seen any publicity behind this either.
Finally an honest review about this bottle! Thank you guys. Appreciate you keeping it honest. Cheers!
Trenton nailed it: "it's a nice looking bottle" and that's his nice thing to say about it...
I dumb lucked into an amazing bottle over the weekend for this same price tag of $89.99.
Local store had the Hard Truth Chocolate Malt Rye, and I’m in love!
Hard truth has yet to let me down! They make some good products!
The Carmel is even better.
Hard Truth shouldn’t be passed up. They are excellent.
Keep in mind this isn’t STRAIGHT rye. So it could be younger than 2 years. They could also add sugar, vanilla extract, fake wood and coloring…and not tell you about it. That is why it is so important to be a STRAIGHT rye. Remember Templeton Rye?
Some more notes: This whiskey was blended by a well regarded scotch distiller/blender, Bill Lumsden, who has done work for Glenmorangie and Ardbeg. Also, the mashbill for this product is only rye and Malted barley, 51% Rye 49% Malted Barley. So it's not going to taste like a standard MGP mashbill. The finish is PX Sherry casks.
51 rye/49 malt used to be a mash bill MGP offered, though it wasn’t very popular and didn’t taste much like the 95/5 mash bill. I’m not sure if they still offer it or if it’s been discontinued.
One more note: this isn’t straight rye so it can be under 2 years old and loaded with additives and sugar and not tell anyone about it. Remember Templeton Rye?
@@steveno7058 the problem with Templeton was more that they lied about their product being distilled in Iowa and being an old recipe from Prohibition that Al Capone liked, neither of those was true since it was MGP rye.
@@skraegorn7317 sure. But Templeton was also adding sweetners to their non-straight rye
I was interested when I heard of the mashbill, as I like to try unusual mashbills, but then when I saw that it was very low strength and had no age statement, I was a lot less interested. If it turns up at a bar, I might try it out of morbid curiosity, but I won't be buying a bottle. I will have to keep an eye out for other products that have used this mashbill - maybe someone else has done a better job with it. Most celebrity booze is a ripoff, unfortunately.
i won't spend one cent on this or any celebrity product
I heard Blackened, is was worth the msrp...last year not sure if it has gone up
You're missing out on Carrol Shelby chili mix.
Weird take
Glad we all know that now
You’re missing out then. Maybe not on this one but others.
I see what Beyonce did there. They don't understand what she did. The Whiskey tastes like a movie in a theater eating popcorn with a cherry 🍒 on top. The popcorn tasted aged so that means it's a classic.
She totally nailed the message she was sending in taste of the drink. They definitely tasted the message she was giving. I'm completely amazed!
This is SO CLEVER! Her Renaissance concert was just made into a movie. She put what she does into a drink! She made that into a flavor that you can taste & as you can see they could taste it!
It's GENIUS!
I've made the mistake of purchasing this over the weekend also. It's terrible. I wish it was better, but it's terrible. I agree with you all 100%
I learned from purchasing Traveller whiskey.
It’s all marketing and most importantly, All HYPE.
You should do a blind with celebrity whiskies.
Yes …. That would be a good show/blind.
Yesssss pls
I have a vintage Old Grand Dad bottle shaped like that.
"Talking out loud" never fails to make me laugh
I believe Bob Dylan's Heaven's Door brand has released some good whiskeys.
Wouldn't expect anything less than an honest review from you guys, while expecting a bourbon of quality with a name like that.
“Oh, Lord”. Pretty much sums it up.
Terry Bradshaw whisky is all over Bloomington.
Bloomington, IN? What’s it called?
go hoosiers
@@dsharton I see it at Big Red Liqours and it’s called Terry Bradshaw
It tastes like banana bread or bread pudding to me. I actually enjoy it for what it is. The price tag is also easier to stomach.
I heard it’s contract distilled by Green River.
I haven’t purchased one celebrity product yet.
Me either. Celebrities really don’t need charity money from me
I tried WT Longbranch, not really because of MM but because it was Wild Turkey
And yet some people just can’t resist buying it for some reason. Paying money they worked much harder to earn than
the celebrity did dollar for dollar.
Bob Dylan?
The only celebrity whiskey that is worth buying in my opinion is the Lagavulin Offerman partnerships. I respect a man who is humble and enjoys whiskey just as much as the average guy, and lets the experts do the work. Nick Offerman has knocked it out of the park with all the Lagavulin releases over the past few years. The Guinness and Rum cask release are especially good!
I have heard a few good things about this Beyoncé bottle. I saw it for $75 and ALMOST picked it up. But I just couldn’t pull the trigger for an 88 proof bottle. I passed and I’m glad. What I didn’t pass on was the The Alberta Premium Cask Strength Rye. WOW! What a great pour for $65! Also the Sagamore Sherry is fantastic.
I had heard the mash bill for this bottle is 51%Rye, 49%Malt. A very funky recipe that could maybe lend to its odd flavors. Anyway, it's a $90 infinity bottle that happens to have whiskey you can drink in it.
That was my immediate though: that's a really nice looking REALLY expensive decanter...
Wild Turkey Longbranch (Matthew McConaughey) isn’t terrible for a low proof bourbon
Probably because he actually liked whiskey,, unlike most of these Celebrity liquors where it's just an investment to make money off their name. At least Sammy Hagar was into tequila with the Cabo Wabo brand before he sold it. Bob Dylan's Heaven's Door brand also produces some very good whiskey.
They dropped his name from the bottle. Hes no longer associated with long branch. If you have one with his name on it it’s probably an older bottle.
Yeah he moved on to his own brand of tequila, which is actually very good.
It’s awful
It's not as good as 101 and costs more. I'm happy I paid $0.00 for the bottle of Longbranch I had. I won't be replacing it.
If you are ready to pony up ~80 bucks for a finished bourbon or rye, go grab anything from Barrell Craft Spirits. Specifically the Seagrass. Easily one of my favorite pours in that category.
Another celebrity bomb…. I would say, a waste of money for a cool looking bottle haha
Of celebrity whiskeys, I do like the Metallica Blackened whiskies, at around $50. Supposedly subjected to their music to keep the liquid moving in the barrels, and following the recipe of a master distiller, it's really pretty good, whether you're into the band or not. Trenton you might like their "Rye The Lightning", a 92 proof rye finished in Madiera and rum casks.
Would try for $39. At $89 definitely a hard pass. Have way better options and store picks forr less.
Bob Dylan’s heavens door is pretty good
I have never purchased a celebrity whiskey, but I suppose they are not targeting the 70 year old crowd. I have had a taste of WT Longbranch, which was fair, and a Heaven's Door product which was okay. Overall, the celebrity whose whiskey I love is good old Jimmy Russell.
When Kurt said, "Oh lord." I felt that lmao
I walked past it today and purchased the last bottle of Weller full proof on the shelf for $48. Which I have never seen. Win Win.
You guys need to do a Bakers 13, Widow Jane 13, Wild Turkey 13, Blue Run 13, and Russel's 13 blind!!! Battle of the 13's!!
Kurt’s face was priceless when he found out it was Beyoncé’s brand 😂
I doubt this is marketed to buyers that know what they like, this is for fans and fans only!
Moonshine is considered a "Whiskey ". That's why it's called corn whiskey.
Great review! We actually thought this was simple enough to be an everyday pour if the price tag was more like $20 - $30. It feels like a whiskey you can drink while you're chillin and it won't require your full attention.
The other half of the mashbill is rumored to be malted barley and not corn, which probably largely accounts for the departure in flavor profile
Speaking of Texas, I’d love to see y’all go through the Garrison Brothers line.
I'm only commenting because I really like this channel. And I know comments help. I don't buy any celebrity whiskey maybe I should. But I think you're just paying extra money cuz it's their name on it and I can buy Eagle rare for 50 bucks so no not doing it.
Not supporting anyone in Diddy's circle. Hard pass.
SHE HAS MADE HER OWN CIRCLE SHE STANDS ALONE, SIR
Who cares ?
Nice decanter for an infinity bottle
I bought this bottle at my local BevMo based on the recommendation of one of the staffers who purchased and said there was more to it than the name. I am not a Beyoncé fan lol and actually her name being on it makes me not want to buy it. Before giving the bottle a final decision I waited till the bottle was past the shoulders. I will say there is a pleasant taste for me on the finish. It’s sort of a creamy vanilla creme brûlée that I personally enjoy in my whiskey. I won’t buy a second bottle unless the price goes under 40. There are too many great bottles at this price point that this cannot compete with. When I pay almost 100 out the door I expect that bottle to be an experience and not just a nice sip. Thanks for your honest review.
It did look good sitting on the shelf behind the counter... and when I saw the price I knew that is where it would stay.
I bought Longbranch a while back just because it was a Wild Turkey product not knowing it was a "celeb" whiskey until i got home and my wife who does not drink but is a giant McConaughey fan said "Oh you bought Matthew's new whiskey". Pretty good whiskey though and fairly priced around $35 in my market here in TX.
I'm really surprised that they didn't go for a Cognac cask finish and at least age it for 4 years using a wheat forward Makers style bourbon.
The blended buffalo trace whiskey with Chris Stapleton is the best I've had as a celeb whiskey. Lower end proof but many people who are beginners I've had try it really like it.
Thank you Trenton for spending the money, I never would have, God bless you. Do you think she ever tasted this?
To answer Trenton's questions. The only celebrity whiskey I've liked is Chris Stapleton's.
Beyoncé's full name is Beyoncé Knowles
Prince's full name is Prince Rogers Nelson
Yes, moonshine is whiskey. Whiskey is a spirit distilled from fermented grain mash (corn, rye, barley, wheat... or any combination of those). Being unaged is what makes it moonshine.
So what you are saying is whiskey is not moonshine and moonshine is not whiskey.
@@gfg8816 No, whiskey is a broad category that includes moonshine. There are many whiskeys that are not moonshine: Scotch, Irish, bourbon, rye, American single malt, etc.
@@bradriley224technically its only true moonshine if its made illegally, the ones sold in stores are corn whiskey, clear spirits and distilled spirit specialties legally speaking.
@@LeatherDaddy97exactly! If it’s taxed, it ain’t moonshine!
you guys should check out the whistle pig/ brothers bond release. It’s amazing
COOL BOTTLE THOUGH
thanks for a honest good review. I plan to test it also. cheers
As the mighty Obi-Wan said, "This is not the horsey whiskey you are looking for"
From what I've read it's their own mashbill (51% Rye 49% Barley) contract distilled through MGP, 2 years old, finished in PX casks. I don't remember where I read it though, so that could be wrong.
Thanks for the review! Curious if it makes a difference if this has some time opened, would it taste better? The bottle is beautiful!
It is Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, and the tasting notes on the website don’t sound even close to anything you guys were getting!
I had read somewhere that Bradshaw’s whiskey was contract distilled by Green River. They do many contract distilled spirits.
What’s worse this or the Hudson one you didn’t like?
Thanks for being honest and not caving to a celebrity!
Beyonce whiskey for $90? I don’t know why you even bothered
Love the truthful comments 😊
Wow, such great content! Leaving a like for this, keep up the great job
I’ll be the man to say it “I love it!”
I’d love to see a celebrity whiskey blind review . Connor McGregor. John Rich. And so on. Could be really amusing. 😂😂😂
Hudson does have a rye. It’s called “Do the rye thing”
Just work up and saw this! Was waiting for a review on this one.
Time for a celebrity whiskey blind?!?!😮
Alright...as the local Discord server dumpster, this is something I need to get. Popcorn notes are exactly something I need to try.
Heck no. Won't buy her music or booze.
Again who cares ? It about her music off topic.. they talking about her whiskey
I have had a 7 year single barrel of this mashbill from MGP at cask strength that I got from Binny's for fifty bucks. It wasn't sherry finished but it was pretty darn good. Even if celebrities come out with good whiskey, unless there is something truly unique about it, I am sure I can find an equal or better alternative for a lot less money since they will be collecting a royalty on each bottle in addition to the distiller's profit.
The Bradshaw is just ok in my opinion. I have the two year old bourbon. Cool bottle for a Steeler fan though!🖤💛
It looks like a giant perfume bottle from the 80s
Thanks for the review. Cheers 🎉
Bob Dylan's Heavens Door I really like. Even the rye and I'm not big on ryes.
I won't waste money on celebrity backed spirits. Only exception might be Sammy Hagar, who actually drinks and is very involved in the process.
I once bought a bottle of Longbranch not knowing it was a celebrity whiskey. It wasn’t bad, price was in the 30’s… proof was a bit low though
Guys, I thought I told you how to read a label to see where it was distilled. If it is Canadian it has to have an import statement on the label. Also Canadian whiskey is more generic than US whiskey. For example, a "Rye" whiskey from Canada only needs to be "cereal grain" it does not need to be rye! If it is MGP it needs to state "Distilled in Indiana" on the label. I doubt that Beyonce knows good from not good.
It is probably "Sharri's casks" hense the funky smells.
Good infinity bottle.
I wish Trent would of did a blind pour for him and then revealed what it was.
The only celebrity whiskey I've enjoyed was Longbranch.
Wild Turkey Longbranch is the only celebrity whiskey that I have had. Nice tasting notes but weak, wonder how it would be at 100 proof or more?
The bottle is beautiful, reminds me of the Escada Pour Homme bottle.
The only celeb booze I have was Blackened and Aviation gin. The gin I had no idea was a celeb product till after I got it. I saw reviews of Blackened before purchasing and its pretty good as is Aviation gin. Otherwise I don't buy booze because of who its associated with.
She doesn't need you to validate who she is she's a successful black woman and I see a lot of people having problems with that whether you like it or not it's going to be sold go Beyonce go😂🎉
Can you review Calumet bourbon please
Would be nice
Like she's worried she's probably laughing all the way to the back.
I use to work at Total Wine in the Indy area. They always had the Bradshaw whiskey in stock
Haven't seen Kurt this unenthusiastic about a tasting, ever, that I can remember. From 3 mins on I think he is ready to quit, until he tastes it, then there is a little bit of a smile.
It’s a nice DeCanter bottle
Looks like I’ll be waiting on this bottle. Maybe some age will do it justice?
Good infinity bottle
Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter
Who is Beyonce???? Never heard this ... 😃
Almost wonder if it being a celebrity whiskey paints their review because I feel lots of reviewers find out its a celebrity whiskey and then write it off mentally before trying it. There are some "celebrity" whiskies that are good.
I had a bottle of a store pick Puncher’s Chance barrel strength bourbon, 123 proof. I thought it was pretty tasty.
Beyonce’s name is Beyoncé and Prince’s name is Prince. Those aren’t stage names.
Regarding the Whiskey, thanks for the review.
Finally was able to get the Star Trek Bourbon 5th batch. It would be cool to see a comparison review with others to hear what you could think it’s mostly close enough n flavor with or a blind test too. lol
The bottle is cool though
For 90buc US - Better be Darn Good !
The bottle is pretty cool looking at least haha
Well this seals the deal, not buying this one. Thanks guys for another great episode.
Bradshaws bourbon is ...ok but I did not feel compelled to go a buy a replacement bottle. fwiw
