Would you agree in terms of suspension that the tiger 900 rally is more comfi for touring than 900 gt ? I am about to buy one but need to wait until the test ride in the spring.
I have a 22 GT Pro. I bought it after a 40 some odd year hiatus from motorbikes. I’m 70 and the 70s were my years to be a fanatic. Moved to a mountain town and road mountain bikes and skied for 40 years. Still have my 74 Ducati 750 Sport (that I ride very little, need ibuprofen for that baby). But just wanted to say, what a joy the Tiger is. Especially after getting off the Ducati! I’m in the American Intermountain West and cruising speeds are significantly higher than the United Kingdom. When the speed limit is 65 mph I cruise at 72 (+-). When passing, I’m over 100 in a heartbeat. Plenty of poke. I lusted after the 24s but couldn’t get enough for my bike to rationalize it. All good.
Great review, good to see one that is honest. I have one. The 2023 model GT Pro same as you tested. The suspension and dive will go away pretty much once you dial it in. It's still dives, just not as severe. Shame it misses out on preload on the front forks. My only gripe. I bought mine to commute on. Just under a 1000k's a week. Had it 4 months an 11000 k's. Just done the 10K service, full synthetic oil, no clunks and is as smooth as. just be gentle on the quickshifter, don't force it and it changes like butter... Defiantly found for me, when you are pushing the vibration through the bars is noticeable. A little through the pegs. To me being a triple it is a part of it and adds to the character of the bike and motor. Can't fault it. Done an 8 hour ride..no worries on the seat for me. I'm 78Kg an 171cm tall. Absolutely love the bike. The front brakes are amazing! Those Stylema brakes from Brembo are insanely good when pushing the bike. 😁
Top comment. Thanks for that. I'm looking at selling my R1200GSA 2019. Whilst it's nice. I don't like the 267kg. I'm looking to downsize. I'm contemplating getting the new 900 GT pro since it has since solved the vibrations?
I was sold when I saw the new refresh.... until suzuki unveiled the gsxs 1000gx, the tiger is still a really great bike and the demo I went on I thought it handled amazingly well but man that new suzuki looks amazing
good honest review as usual mate!nice bit of kit that!triumph are producing some good bikes imo.being taller and skinnier, the wind could be a problem for me!😂
Excellent review as always. Will admit, not my kind of bike but always enjoy your reviews. Your style of delivery is very reminiscent of, 'Man Cave Moto'. You're very similar, that is, nothing flowery or superficial just informative and straight to the point. Good work. Don't change. 👍
Thanks Mark, really appreciate the comment. It's hard to find your own style in this game and not be swayed by others. I must admit I now rarely watch many other peoples reviews so I dont get swayed with either their style or more importantly, their opinions on the bike. Too busy filming and editing to sit down and watch nowadays anyways :P
Hi, Great review it was between this and TRacer9GT for me, test rode both and couldnt really split them, however the clean panniers and thicker tyres on the tracer won it for me, really didnt like the skinner tyres on the triump and also the panniers have to be smaller on the right because of the exhaust it looks awful. cracking bike though
Hi Chris, You made a great choice there. It's good when you are splitting hairs between two bikes. Means only one thing, the manufacturers have made some great bikes. Ride safe.
Sunds like a great bike ,glad Triumph have increased the bhp, still think it could of been increased a little more on the newer 2024 bikes, Good review 👍
I'm not sure it really needs extra power ,is not sport bike fast but still pulls strong from low rpm and through Rev range and above legal speed limits easily. I'm sure there are plenty of people that want all the power that's on offer but for me it has more than enough power / torque
I suppose with adding more power there comes to a point when you might as well just buy the 1200 tiger, they need to keep this in the middle ground to suit other riders out there who dont want or need big numbers. Still a decent bike though :)
I can’t speak for other aspects in your life lester. But I can answer this for you. With the phone I use the front facing camera. When you do this it mirrors the image. If you use the back camera then it’s viewed normally. Hope that makes sense 😁
I have a '21, happy with it except for two gripes; front brakes do not impress (first-tier calipers and a mid-range master) and very expensive service (expecting $1,200 to $1,500 for the day-and-a-half 12K service). Otherwise a good bike.
Based on your enthusiastic comment about the Tracer 9, may I ask your height and weight? I'm 5'10" (177cm) and 180lbs (82kg). I just want to know what size human finds the Tracer 9 to be a great ride. I have a 2020 Super Ténéré that cruises great on the interstate and tours very well alongside 1250GSs (which my buddies have), but I feel it's too high and too heavy for me.
I work for triumph as a technician. I love working and riding these. My favourite from the whole fleet !!
You’re a lucky man. I’ll keep riding them so you’ve got something to work on 😁

When will Triumph bring out a smooth tripple to replace the not so smooth t-plane ?

Hi Dave, thanks for the comment. Getting some serious mileage on the bike I see, good to hear. Enjoy it, that's what they're there for. Ride safe.

Tiger 900 series are in a sweet spot on adventure bikes. A little expensive though.
Im liking more and more the middleweight adventure bikes for my next bike. This could be a contender.

Very well explained and equipped bike.
Thank you.

ah yeah, those taller skinnier lads you talk of might struggle with wind protection :). But im sure you'll be fine though :)

Thanks Matt, why are all the graphics back to front during your walk round? Perhaps I’m becoming dyslexic in my old age 👍

Brakes are always an easy-ish fix for bikes, if not particularly cheap to fix. First mod I done on my old MT10 was upgrade the poor brakes.
Give me the Yamaha TRACER 9 GT or the + over the Triumph everyday, and for very similar money.
My money would be on the GT + all day long.

@@rel62 HI, i am 5ft 11in and weigh in at 94kg.
What's it competition!
Maybe the new BMW F900 GS range? Thoughts?
not jerky one bit ive not noticed? no vibration through pegs either ? is this 2024 model ?none of your review i’ve experienced at all negatives!!
23 plate. Your positives I haven’t noticed. Does this mean you’re right or I’m wrong? I know what I’ve noticed and that’s all I report on 🤙
@@DSR1YT 2024 model hugely improved vibration etc, thats why thought must be older model
Hey Matt - I’d like to try and do a collab video with you. Never done one before, let me know if you’re up for having a chat on it.
Hay mate, apologies for not getting back to you, comments get lost on this platform sometimes. How’s your channel going?
👍👍
👌👌
Do you what you are saying the compete opposite to what other testers are saying very Confusing 🤔🤔🤔
Just goes to show that everyone is different. I try to stay away from watching too many review videos so I keep my thoughts and opinions my own :)
For such a high tec bike and it's steep price, very disappointing with that ridiculous small lame windscreen..C'mon Triumph!
Seems to be a recurring issue amongst other brands, Honda AT and the new BMW GS1300 both have fairly small screens on them.
