Born and bred in Girvan in the 60's and 70,s ---happy childhood days and it was great in the summer when the holiday makers came..like the guy said memories of the simple things, my favourites, the rowing boats, the beach pavilion , climbing the byne hill and dow hill for the views and the gardens filmed which were once an orchard full of apple trees
I was brought up in Girvan. Left when l was 21 to go to England for work.Son of a Girvan Fisherman. Still live in the Lake District. Like all costal towns in the UK they have seen better days.
Lived in Girvan for 4 years now and I absolutely love it. Yes, the high street has some empty shops but so does every other high street. Loads going on if you want to get involved. Beautiful beach, fabulous countryside. Local butchers, greengrocers, gift shops, original clothing shops. Lovely people. Don't knock it.
@@thekiltedcyclist4698 All my family come from Ballantrae and it's 10 miles from Girvan. Never visited though before l left to make my fortune as they say, in England. I am actually visiting Girvan in a couple of weeks. Still got my accent though , even after 46 years away!
Nice video of our home town thank you

It's a town with tremendous potential. Great people. Sadly let down by decades of political incompetence.

Sad my mother was from girvan and we always went down every summmer
Theres some nice walks over the hills. Awesome views. I think it needs a bypass for the heavy traffic though.
The roads are busy
Sawley beans cave is 7 miles from Girvan, not 17.
