Sex Pistols was banned in Finland, no work permit for their Helsinki gig, which was planned for January 1978. I wrote an overprovocative story of Johnny et co, which was published in Help/Intro pop magazine just weeks earlier. My writing gave a clear inspiration to a story in Helsingin Sanomat, Finland´s leading daily and caused more uproar, and the eventual banning. My story or Help/Intro wasn´t credited as a source of inspiration. Help/Intro had around 250 000 readers at the time.

The Berlin wall
They're staring all night
And they're staring all day
I had no reason to be here at all
And now I got a reason
It's no real reason
And I'm waiting
The Berlin wall
I got to go over the Berlin wall
I don't understand this thing at all
I'm gonna go over the Berlin wall
I'm gonna go over the Berlin wall
I'm gonna go over the Berlin wall
Claustrophobia there's too much paranoia
There's too many closets
So when will we fall
And now I gotta reason
It's no real reason to be waiting
The Berlin wall
I got to go over the wall
I don't understand this thing at all
This third rate B movie show
Cheap dialogue
Cheap essential scenery
I got to go over the wall
I wanna go over the Berlin wall
Before they come over the Berlin wall
I don't understand this thing at all
I'm gonna go over the wall
I wanna go over the Berlin wall
I'm gonna go over the Berlin wall
Before they come over the Berlin wall
I don't understand this thing at all
Please don't be waiting for me

Amazing that a band that that had only 2 albums had such a huge impact....
this brings me back to simpler times naive and free.
That riff is a call of attitude for me...My fav pistols song.
The sex pistols amazing and original brilliant anthems.
two albums all and all, yet the they said it all!
im so depressed, i listen to screamo when i realise that the 70's is the best....
The greatest band ever!
Great archival footage!
WHAT A FUCKIN GREAT BAND BEST EVER MUCH RESPECT
Please bring back this music on radio SYDNEY!!!!!
The sex pistols are and always will be my only hero band. They said it all. How Britain really was and what is coming. I listen to them constantly. They made me how I am and I feel great that even today they still bring the 1978 1979. Out. I have lived a life that I can say was mine. As always fuck the government they always fuck us. Most of all rip Sid the main man ......... David
Unforgettable 💪💪💪
The Pistols were nowhere near being the first punk band, but they were a cultural force to be reackined with.
sexxxx
Can you tell me then who was the first British punk band
Id say they were pretty damn close to beeing the first ones
Tim Uhle Nope.
Joao Miguel Anjos They copied Detroit and New York City. Nothing original about the Pistols.
punk and hard rock are the best forms of rock!!
Better than any punk in 13. Sex Pistols. Forever brilliant.
Beating the audience with a guitar was pretty harcore. Thank you Steve.
Best definition ever ! " A cheap holiday in other people's misery" and then we still try and screw them down in price for useless oblects
Steve is the grandfather of punk guitar sounds!!
