When I was nipper and lost in a shopping centre some punks helped me find my mum instead of getting bummed by some trainspotter. It stuck in my mind that day that appearances can be deceptive.
I watched some of them kicking the shit out of some mods in a railway station. As a rocker, that raised their profile for me. Much the same experience, don't you think?
I agree! Most rockstars and/or big name celebrities have slept around with groupies, gone through multiple marriages, maybe even fathered an affair baby or two (we're looking at you, Aarnold Schwarzenegger, Dwayne Wade, Snoop Dogg, and Nick Young). Meanwhile Johnny Rotten has stayed loyal to his wife all these decades, helped raise their grandkids when his stepdaughter couldn't, and stays by her side to help her daily as she battles late stage alzheimers. Sadly, that's a rarity these days. Kudos to him; he's a stand up guy.
First time I ever heard this song was on a megadeth album so far so good so what and was an instant fan of the song. That was my first introduction to punk rock when I was a kid cuz no one listened to that in my family. This was around 98 or 99. I was like 6 years old at the time. Still jamming to it over 20 years later!
These guys felt that after them-nothing like this will happen... Sid Vicious, died at the age of 21, but left a legacy in the souls of people so that we still remember these traces. The crazy guy will stay in our hearts forever!
You can say what ever you want about the Sex Pistols: love them or think they're shit but in 50 or 100 years people will look back and remember bands like them when theres some kind of retrospective on Rock and Roll. I can't think of many groups if any today that will be remembered.
