Nice video Stuart with a very nice Klemm and a good engine. I hope You will fully recovered in a while. You have a good touch for airplanes. I hope HobbyKing releases more wooden kits because a lot of people want to build themselves, that's the hobby! For example, you could release a beautiful Klemm and more beautiful historical aircraft. Not only foam planes but also wooden kit aircraft that you as a model builder can assemble yourself. So "OLD SCHOOL" like in the time I started modeling.
Cool plane. Funky, unique, and covered in fabric with a four-stroke. Ticks a lot of boxes right there, and a great airplane to watch fly. I really like getting old models back flying again, I'm finishing up my third, and there will be more. So rest up until you're 100%, then bring on the restoration videos!
Yes its a little different and the engine just wraps it up nicely for sure. Several restores on the bench, I'm sure I'll have an update on at least one of them in the next few months.
Lovely. I have an old L25 from the Krick kit. 72" span. Belonged to my late Father who built it in the late 80's. Flies much the same although mine is electric.
Look after yourself Stu, people like yourself in the RC community arent a dime a dozen. It's good you're back with HK as well. Interested in how the engines go back together, Saito are very nice engines. Thanks for the update.
Thank you Jacen. Yes I'm keen to get back to those Saito's as soon as time and health allows, getting those shafts fixed as reignited my enthusiasms for these rebuilds and for keeping you all updated on them.
Hey there brother Stuart!!!! Thank you so much for being so forthcoming with what's been going on in your world so to speak! I really, really love the odd, and seldom seen planes being modelled...very brave indeed! As you may know, our dear friend John M. passed last year...a very tragic loss to the RC community (indeed, the global community as a whole), and one of his last projects (A Vought SB2U Vindicator) will be finished by a collaborative effort and (hopefully) flown at an RC gathering in St. George Utah in the fall. Cheers and all the best to you from your friend in the Mojave Desert!
@@stuartwarnerc I do Stuart, I do. Sadly he passed away last fall. And yes, I ABSOLUTELY remember spending time with you and John at the flightline at SEFF many times....sharing, laughing, and enjoying the RC brotherhood....
I love those inter-war planes with just enough power from a four stroke and skimming the ground Glad to see you are on the mend now Looking forward to more videos
Four stroke engines are pretty much the only engines I fly with. I Much prefer the four stroke to the two stroke. And like engines in general, better then electric motors!!!
Beautiful plane, slow flyby was so nice! I'd be stupid inevitably and go to far trying to roll it, lol. Doesn't look like it would roll fast, big wing! Excellent flying, greased the landing!
Thanks Craig. Actually it does roll, but of course needs full rates, and rudder too. I always make sure to give it plenty of height however, because it is SLOOOWWWW. Maybe I'll post a clip of it in a future update.
Sorry to hear you needed a operation, glad you on the mend. Beauty of a plane with a sexy nitro engine. Very smooth and graceful flight Stuart. Hope you have the hoody by now 👍🏻
Get well soon Stuart. Love the Klemm and love the sound of the engine - you really can't beat the sound of a four stroke, particularly in something like this. More like this please :)
What didn't sound good? I can hear a bearing that needs replacing, but she's still running good and I have other engines in need of my attention first ;)
Get better soon Stuart! nice to see another update on the channel. Love the model, another example of bigger flies better ;) love the sound of that magnum four stroke, it really matches the airplane especially on the slow passes in the fading light...
Hi Bart, yes you are right, the setting sun, the slow pace, the size and the engine are all the perfect combination. Lets hope we can have a flight together later this year sometime.
Great sound from the motor, just right for the type of model. For a diehard electric my liking of the 4 stroke sound worries me! I could be a closet glow head 😳 add to that I just refurbished a second hand Cox TeeDee 051.😀 Good to see back on your channel, stay safe and best wishes for a fast and fall recovery 👍🏻
Well Stuart, good to see another video. Yes I like big slow planes like that Klemm. I built a Southern Belle back in the '70's. She's a between wars open cockpit low wing sport. Unfortunately she succumbed to the dreaded 27mh superglitch. I liked that plane so much that I'm building another one, still have the plans. Presently flying a big old Sig Astro Hog with a K&B .61 and a super Chipmunk with Saito .56. The Chipmunk is a little under powered but it flies much like your Klemm. Would be better with a 70 something. Cheers
Hey John, yeah she's not such a common bird. Actually I never had much interest in the type, but the build was nice, the price good and the size great, and I needed a home for my 91 so I thought why not. And, so far she's a keeper.
Hope you get well soon Stuart !! Good to see you back on your channel 🙂 Interesting plane this Daimler-Klemm. First used with a Harley Davidson engine before switching to a Mercedes engine (see the star behind the engine and on the horizontal stabilizer) Love how she flies 🙂🙂 en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daimler_L20
Yeah it seems it went through a few changes in real life. The previous owner fashions a little Mercades badge just behind the engine bay, which is a nice touch.
Hey Stuart, I watched your video on the 1/4 Scale Electric Cub and asked what UBEC you are using, or are you running the RX off a separate battery pack?
Hi Sally, thank you and glad you enjoy it. Thanks for asking about the laser engines. I actually only kept one in the end. One went to a friend and the other I sold to a follower in the UK. I kept the Laser 100 after it returned from a service. Its running great now and will be used in my next planned small restoration, details of which I hope to be able to post soon (once i have had some time to work on it).

Awesome Stuart! The Klemm is one I've always wanted to build. Nice!!!
She sounds like she has some kind of vibration in her somewhere?
The landing gear most likely, it needs a little tidying up still.
Glad you are getting your heath worked out Stu...blessings. Nice model...very smooth flight.
Thank you, yes trying to at least, smooth flying models seem like good therapy ;)
Good to see you upload Stuart, such a graceful model, and great to hear you are on the mend. All the best for your continuing recovery.
Thanks Dom, nice to see you here too.
Good to see you back hope the recovery is going ok. Always love a 4 stroke with the lovely trail of smoke 👍
Wish you a speedy recovery Stuart, lovley model for sure..look forward to more videos down the line...
Super nice plane and flight Stu 👍
Awesome model and get well soon.

Get well soon Stuart. Wishing you a speedy recovery. That Klemm is a beauty, the engine sounds amazing, loving the smoke trails. Thanks for sharing
thank you, yes the sound and the smoke is what I love most. I don't think a model like this would be the same with electric.
Good to see you Stuart and wishing you well for Full and speedy recovery 👍
Thank you kindly
Get well soon 👍

Thanks 👍 but sadly its taking longer than it should!
Wishing you well with your recovery, looking forward to more projects.
Thank you!

Hey, you mean John the famous master of blue foam? I met that guy along with your good self at Nall and maybe even SEFF a few times! Say it isn't so?

Hi Hans, yes they are perfect for that kind of flying, I think everyone needs a model like this in their fleet ;)

Get well soon bud.
Really nice model well flown.. gotta love the glow four strokes on a cold day.
is there anything better!
Take care, best wishes, and please get well soon! Really enjoy your channel and your take on the hobby!
Thank you very much!
Rest up!
Good to see you back and that is a very nice plane.
Hope you get well soon, rest as much as you can and don't force anything.

When your feeling better we'll see more of you. May your recovery go well. Plane looks like a cross between a warbird and a glider. AirHammer out!!
Sorry to hear you needed a operation, glad you on the mend. Beauty of a plane with a sexy nitro engine. Very smooth and graceful flight Stuart. Hope you have the hoody by now 👍🏻
Hello Chris, thank you. The hoodie is on its way, I look forward to wearing it in a future video ;)
@@stuartwarnerc look forward to having a live nitro show 👍🏻
Great video as usual, wish you well in your recovery.
Thank you very much!
Beautiful! Love that size.
Me too sir, me too!
Great flight. Love to see old models get a little more life. Wish you all the best to a full and quick recovery.
Thanks 👍
Love the Klemm and with that motor, they were made for each other. hope you get well soon Stuart.
Hello, yes its JUST enough power to do the model justice. Very happy with this combo.
Get well soon Stuart. Love the Klemm and love the sound of the engine - you really can't beat the sound of a four stroke, particularly in something like this. More like this please :)
thanks Ken, yes the engines a good match for the model I think too.
I loved this video, thanks
Get well soon Stuart! Lovely plane and love the engine 👍
Very nice model Stuart!
And hey, feel better soon Mate!
Thank you, I will
Keep feeling better Stuart! Sweet model! I'm a 4-stroke guy!! Wait, that didn't sound good at all...
What didn't sound good? I can hear a bearing that needs replacing, but she's still running good and I have other engines in need of my attention first ;)
lovely plane, really enjoyed the flight.

Thanks Blaz.
Stuart, wishing you a quick recovery. Great video and a beautiful model! I appreciate the costume continuity as well :)
Yes, I'm getting my moneys worth from that coat and hat this winter :D

Hi Roy, nice to hear from you again, take the plunged, you might even like it more than electric ;) Me, I enjoy both and am happy with that.
Very nice! I love scale, slow, 4-stroke powered models and this one is great. I would slant the exhaust pipe rearward if it were mine. 😉
But then I get more spread of the exhaust residue ;) This way its limited to one area, makes it quicker to clean.
nice scale piloting skills!

Ah the Astro Hog, we had a few of those at my first club many years ago, nice models.
Well, theres a plane I never knew existed, haha. I dig it, nice job man!
