Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) appeared at The Force Awakens panel with JJ Abrams during Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2015, along with three new cast members for the upcoming Episode VII film.
Poor Peter, the guy can barely walk. Yet he sucked it up to reprise his role. I have an extremely high respect for him.
I know, he is pretty though. I met him back in 2010 at SDCC, really nice and charming man. This movie is going to be amazing

I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around the idea that it's been nigh on 40 years since this all began. Seeing the first standalone version of "Star Wars" in 1977 is still a fresh memory for me, and every time I watch it I forget everyone, including me, is getting older.
Paul Coddington It's been 10 years already since I saw episode III in theaters at 17. Never thought they could make any more after that...still can't believe Disney pulled this off in the span of 2 1/2 years-ish. It's actually a bit despressing to see how much they've aged, kinda makes me wish they had done this 10-20 years ago when they looked a little younger.

Pavel Rizzo And yes, I still say the empire is half ruined but more capable of conquering worlds (the Empire had thousands of systems and each was defended by sectorial imperial fleet, defended by some legions of stormtroopers (unless it was a neutral or independent system) and they had a lot of hidden facilities/factories/weapons/spacecrafts)

I had alittle tear in my eye when I saw Peter Mayhew walk out with Mark Hamil, its such a tiresome cliche but I gotta say these guys are absolute legends. So many generations have grown up with them, my mom saw Starwars ep4 at the movies as a young woman, Ive grew up with them, my younger bros and now my nieces, just epic.

David Young I would not be surprised if that becomes the highest-grossing movie of all time. Hell, Avatar did it, and it was a brand new franchise. Even Titanic before it accomplished that. There's been so much hype leading up to Episode VII that I wouldn't be surprised at all if that happened.

To make them all the same. Just as modern militaries do, uniformity is better. And they provide small protection.

modern kevlars, and helmets offer pretty impressive protection. They are not bulletproof, but can easily stop 3-4 rounds from an assault rifle.
So the point is, that these armors should offer at least minimal protection. deflecting maybe 2 shots? But nope, they all got rekt by a simple blaster shot, wich is pretty dumb in my, and most of the people opinion.
+Sir Adam First Class Potato Cross holder well you do see storm troopers checking the wounded in the start of star wars 4, they wouldn't have checked the wounded if the armor didn't give them a chance to survive, also the armor is frag and bullet proof if i remember correctly so that is also a reason

My father intruduced me to SW when i was a young boy, and now, i feel something so big about this universe, i cant describe. Its like a religion, and when i found a fan randomly in the world, its like meeting a new family member, its weird and wounderfull at the same time !!
A great friend of mine, and i, recently showed SW A new Hope, and Empire stikes back, to his son, and his reaction to the Darth Vader Revelation about being luke´s father was intense for the kid , it was a joy to see him so interested in the movies !

Theres more real stormtrooper costumes with actual people inside them here, than there was in the entire prequel trilogy. Actually, I don't think a single one of the clone troopers in the prequels was a costume...all CGI.

Sauron Bastard I remember people were pretty offended that the final two prequel movies had a CGI Yoda. I mean I know the acrobatic fighting sequences it was required, but Yoda was always renowned for being a muppet. As for the clones, I thought there were like a few real suits for close ups but the rest were all CGI. Those prequels themselves were pretty awful. The few die hard Star Wars fans I've met will always say "there were only three Star Wars movies, and nothing came before them"
Lucas mentioned that he had to use a lot of CGI to show his 'intended' vision of the star wars universe in a way that was not possible with the the original star wars movies when CGI did not exist , which is why he made those special editions of episodes 4-6 in the mid1990's. In time magazine i remember they wrote an article on the attack of the clones (episode 2) and apparently 2000 SFX images were used in the movie, even the Lord of the rings trilogy had about 50% of that.. so it was a lot, and what spoilt it for me was, is this a movie or animation. animation is fine for the clone wars series on TV as that was meant to be animation. I agree about Yoda, for non action close up scenes they should have used a puppet for Yoda.

+Rex Talbot check out the star wars wiki. The armor provides protection from fragmentation and projectile weapons (traditional bullets), blasters will still go through but it reduces the energy of the bolt, so it's more likely for you to survive you can still die though. They are also (the old stormtrooper armor anyway) sealed from chemical and biological warfare, apparently the armor in the new movies only protects against smoke though.
The helmet also has built in communications equipment and a HUD.

I'm so glad I avoided EVERYTHING Star Wars until Episode VII opening night. I just didn't want to know anything about the casting, or anything outside of the trailer. And I'll tell you what : nobody can ever take the goosebumps I felt when seeing the back of Luke Skywalker at the very end of 'The Force Awakens' away from me.
