Get a lav mic if you haven’t already. Taking about audio quality when speaking into the camera with the camera mic…..constructive criticism. I can recommend rode and zoom recorders.

You are right about off axis image with point source. You can be 90° off axis or even behind the speakers and still get an image with a semi omni driver set-up. Angled driver on top of the box.

Just demoed some F501SPs elsewhere and my partner and I instantly said these were the ones. Better even than speakers at twice the price.
That said I'd love to hear and see the F502SP for potential differences/whether they'd fit in our house! Haha.

502SP have a bit more bass. Everything else is the same. So it just depends on your room size.

The last one looks like it may have a tweeter at the top, he didn't mention it being a coaxial. Maybe it's a regular 2 way.

This felt like watching a very polished QVC advert 😂 gorgeous speakers and i must admit i am tempted by the f301. If for no other reason than to support a Scottish product 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 about time we as a country started producing quality products again.

Where is the country of manufacture?
Does the country of manufacture change depending on the price? .

I think the 500 SP are a great speaker.. I have them in white but I added a rel sub with them and that’s gives an overall fuller sound

Montreal made Totem speakers are excellent. Form and Function is just right.

I'm a speaker building nutter. I innovated several unique acoustic features in my speakers. Namely point source coaxials and single driver med/treble FR drivers. But I also have semi dipole (with a semi open cone set-up) and a few other acoustic innovations (including driver mods). I got some conventional 2-ways for frequency response reference, for my speaker building. But I don't like the sound of my B&W 706s (boxed in voice sound) reference speakers. And if I copy the sound with my made speakers, they don't sound any better. So I pushed up 5 khz up a bit (with my built crossover) and magic happened! Piano, brass and f-voice absolutely flogged my reference speakers...in image, soundstage and med tone, and kick sound (cos of my unique concentric bass vent (come semi open med driver vent). They killed the 706s cos of presentation, not accuracy. Way different acoustics than just putting drivers in boxes, radically "woked" (and WAY too much to explain how, in a UA-cam comment). Ps. I am generally NOT woked (especially with the shape of the earth).

I want the 5" coaxial drivers. I can build up my own 8" coaxials (from separate particular drivers on eBay) but I can't make 5" coaxials. I could get KEF drivers but I'm not a big fan of aluminium cones.

If you a-b your point source speakers (on piano) with the 400 grand Acapella horn speakers (with multiple driver sources... and drivers all across the board) I bet even your cheapest point source speaker would give you a better listening experience (on piano). Even if it's not as accurate.
